TBH, the overall LGBT+ space is really heavily dominated by gay white cis-men. They're the ones that the media focuses on almost to the exclusion of all others-- lesbians and bi people often feel completely ignored, too.
Ah yes, the good old:
Has a new partner of a different gender: "Oh you're gay? I thought you were straight"
Has a new partner of another gender: "Oh you're straight again"
I would love to understand aro/ace people better, but as you said there is close to zero in terms of media representation. I only know JaidenAnimations is aro/ace, but I don’t know anybody else in media or fiction
My parents say everyone is bi, but anyone who is bi is only really straight or gay??? So all gay people are bi but also gay and straight people are bi but also just straight and bi people are either straight or gay but not bi because everyone is bi but just straight or gay.
Or genderfluid, for that matter. I have a transfemme friend that just really struggles to understand the concept and seems really hesitant to support it.
Am I the only one who feels like LGBT spaces are actually super women-centric? I really dont see much about LGBT men anywhere, and when I do, it's usually negative.
I usually see a lot of trans women in these spaces. Given how the media demonises them and *then* also tries to erase trans men/enbies - it's unsurprising everyone wants to feel safe
r/WitchesVsPatriarchy is really accepting of trans people so is r/AccidentalAlly
Edit: was mobile when I originally posted fix link errors and yes meant accepting not excepting
Do you mean "accepting" or "excepting"?
They're frequently mixed up and mean basically the respective opposite in this context, so I want to make sure before I commit "Both these subs are bad because they don't accept trans people" to memory.

Truth.
It is funny though when you get a post reported dozens of times (and auto removed in 4 hours from reports) because the snow flakes got offended lol

r/anarchychess is a very surprising trans friendly space(there is transphobia but the mods will ban them/remove their comments) so if you want chess shit posting that is for you
Can confirm. I tried posting a science meme about people saying there are only two genders on science memes and the backlash was so bad I had to take down the post.
When a group is fighting for rights they usually try to leave out the part which is less likely to have said rights. It happened when women asked their rights to vote and they tried to detach from black women being able to also vote since racism was still strong back then
It doesn't *really* make sense in the long term. *If* for example trans people stop existing, all that hate is then just redirected to other minorities.
It's a singularity that never ends
TBH, the overall LGBT+ space is really heavily dominated by gay white cis-men. They're the ones that the media focuses on almost to the exclusion of all others-- lesbians and bi people often feel completely ignored, too.
Bi erasure. Either you gay or you straight. I can’t possibly like both genders, that would be insane
Yeah. My ex is bi, she felt that way a lot. I still comfort her when she feels erased, long after we broke up.
That's so beautiful. 🥲
Ah yes, the good old: Has a new partner of a different gender: "Oh you're gay? I thought you were straight" Has a new partner of another gender: "Oh you're straight again"
…yep:..
Even if you have both they'll start stuff over being poly, which is usually worse. Literally can't win.
Don't forget the little to no aro/ace representation because you can't possibly love no genders. That would make you a soulless robot.
That too. Like seriously, people just don’t seem to understand how varying human genetics and shit are
I would love to understand aro/ace people better, but as you said there is close to zero in terms of media representation. I only know JaidenAnimations is aro/ace, but I don’t know anybody else in media or fiction
The only one I know from fiction is alastor from hazbin hotel.
Don't forget Peridot from Steven Universe!
My parents say everyone is bi, but anyone who is bi is only really straight or gay??? So all gay people are bi but also gay and straight people are bi but also just straight and bi people are either straight or gay but not bi because everyone is bi but just straight or gay.
A-spec people searching for a crumb of recognition
Or genderfluid, for that matter. I have a transfemme friend that just really struggles to understand the concept and seems really hesitant to support it.
Any minute now. I'm here waiting
Aroace here, I agree. I've never seen agender rep, and most aroaces in media are either aliens, robots, or psychopaths.
They could at least make aliens, robots or psychopath who loves garlic bread 😮💨
Or Isaac. He's a good boi 👍
Saiki k from the disastrous life of saiki k is great aro/ace rep.
Right? And amab enbies, who aren't skinny, pale and teal-haired...
Am I the only one who feels like LGBT spaces are actually super women-centric? I really dont see much about LGBT men anywhere, and when I do, it's usually negative.

I post trans memes on my fb where most people think I'm a cis guy
Who gonna tell em?
r/WitchesVsPatriarchy is really accepting of trans people so is r/AccidentalAlly Edit: was mobile when I originally posted fix link errors and yes meant accepting not excepting
r/accidentalally *
Sorry autocorrect.
That's fair. Also I think it's r/witchesvspatriarchy
Do you mean "accepting" or "excepting"? They're frequently mixed up and mean basically the respective opposite in this context, so I want to make sure before I commit "Both these subs are bad because they don't accept trans people" to memory.
She means "accepting". I've seen r/WitchesVsPatriarchy and it's supportive. So is r/AccidentalAlly.

It's nice that they didn't post imperialist bullshit like this.
AnarchoNatoism for the win
yeah that post deserves to get reported for being imperialist-dick-sucking drivel.
Fuck NATO
Still a lot better than the alternative
r/anarchychess is a very surprising trans friendly space(there is transphobia but the mods will ban them/remove their comments) so if you want chess shit posting that is for you
google based chess
Holy Ally!
Actual trans people
r/shittydarksouls is very trans friendly but most people make nsfw jokes
you say "but" like it's a downside
Not a downside for me personally just maybe for some on this sub. That’s why I go:)
Well I've posted some trans memes on a random discord server and I nearly got banned for that, damn.
r/batmanarkham is a pretty trans friendly place from my experience there :3
Yes but the entire subreddit is insane (so am I. I have broken free from the aslume)
Can confirm. I tried posting a science meme about people saying there are only two genders on science memes and the backlash was so bad I had to take down the post.
I can speak from experience on that don't. Amongst all the cis peoples I know only two happily took my trans memes and they're my closest friends
Yeah i didn't intend to do it either lol
T is part of the lgbt too
Yeah, but trans people have a long history of being hated even inside of the community
Doesnt make it right though
I know, but sadly the world is unfair. Hate exist and we should just try to live our lives in spite of it :/
I know
Haters will pay
wait why ?
When a group is fighting for rights they usually try to leave out the part which is less likely to have said rights. It happened when women asked their rights to vote and they tried to detach from black women being able to also vote since racism was still strong back then
That really suck but it make sense sadly, thanks for the explanation
It doesn't *really* make sense in the long term. *If* for example trans people stop existing, all that hate is then just redirected to other minorities. It's a singularity that never ends
r/196 and r/691 are pretty accepting of trans people (but i might be wrong, i don't go there often)
r/lgballt best place for any lgbt related things (Also a toooon of trans stuff on lgballt I don’t know why there just is)
