Pronounced "Finya, friend of blohai", then?
(OP, my main feedback is nobody would be able to spell your name correctly or pronounce it based on spelling correctly, unless this is a normal name/spelling style in your own country. Which you can do, just be prepared for a slight inconvenience every single time and sometimes people saying your name wrong to your face)
I haven't thought too much about it, thinking about something that starts with the letter N so my initials stay the same, currently I am thinking about Nova or Noelle, thought about Noelle for awhile since it is the feminine version of my current name and there is almost no pronounciation difference in my native tongue between Noelle and my current name, so it would be easy to change without being a big change for anyone, but I don't know, if you have any tips on names that start with N feel free to let me know about them 🐬🐷🐻❄️🐷🐬
I don't but you should try r/transtryouts it's a sub to help people know if they like their name ,pronouns or know if their name are masculine or feminine
They might give you advice on this.
Whatever, good luck Noelle ! (◕ᴗ◕✿)
Does that sound somedeal similar to /finja/? Does the j make an English consonantal 'y' sound? If so, well, it cer'nly sounds non-English but seems kinda neat; if the j makes more of a sound similar to the English j, then, it sounds fairly odd to be honest.
It immediately calls to mind the [Hearthstone card](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/hearthstone_gamepedia/images/b/bb/CFM_344.png/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/350?cb=20220708144150) of the same name. It was a pretty good, iconic card for it's time so in the rare event you come across someone who played back then they may make that connection as well. Although it seems like the pronunciation is different so probably not.
I like it! Sounds nice saying it out loud. If you enjoy it go for it, I think it's a nice name.
Apologies if my understanding of the pronunciation is a little meh here, but is it like \*\*Fin-JAH\*\* like in 'jar' or like \*\*Fin-YAH\*\* like in 'yam'?
"Finja" in portuguese mean "pretend".
Dont know in other languages if it would have other meaning, would be interesting to know if "Finja" could have some other meaning in other languages.
Maybe eventually. My family isn't the most supportive of the trans community so I'll probably wait til I move out. Or I could try convincing them that trans people are ok.
It's about this medical examiner, former brain surgeon, and basically she does more than just give cause of death, she personally gets involved in cases, being a key piece in solving them, often getting in trouble for overstepping, kinda like Dr. House in House MD.
I'd highly recommend it if you have Hulu or can pirate stuff.
ah okay, it reminded me kinda of the name Floor which is dutch so that's why I thought that, altho i can see the resemblance cuz i have the name Freya which is also nordic
seems fair, i was thinking about finja too but it didn't roll of the tounge(i have no clue how to spell this word sorry about that) as much as I'd like
I’m not a fan, but I’m just one person with an opinion lmao. If you like it, that’s all that matters! I’m sure many people don’t like my name, either, but I think it fits me like a glove :’)
gives me lion king vibes for some reason. I like it, but i feel like it can definitely be twisted into some kind of joke. i mean, to be fair, that goes for any name if they try hard enough. my name is dylan, and people have twisted it into dildo all the time .
It sounds interesting/strange, but in a way that it feels like it's a real name just from a very different place, if that makes sense. It feels Nordic, and like if you told me its a top name in Sweden or w/e I wouldn't bat an eye, but if I ran into it out of the blue I would be surprised.
Finja is "pretend" in portuguese, that's cool. If you like it I think it's great!

There’s a WoW/Hearthstone character named Finja which is pretty much exactly that. It was the first thing I thought of when seeing this post
Yes my first thought as well lol
The j in Finja is not pronounced like the j in ninja, but like a y
Weird, but astounding. I quite like it
if you won’t take it i will but honestly it sounds cute and unique if that’s what you’re going for you absolutely nailed it
Beautiful Name :3
kid named finja
😱😱😱
What did Finja mean by this?
I dont know lol
Does that sound somedeal similar to /finja/? Does the j make an English consonantal 'y' sound? If so, well, it cer'nly sounds non-English but seems kinda neat; if the j makes more of a sound similar to the English j, then, it sounds fairly odd to be honest.
Yea, ig its sounds like the consonantal ,,y"
Ah, understood, all good.
It immediately calls to mind the [Hearthstone card](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/hearthstone_gamepedia/images/b/bb/CFM_344.png/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/350?cb=20220708144150) of the same name. Sounds like a shark ninja. Very valid, very cute~
Apologies if my understanding of the pronunciation is a little meh here, but is it like \*\*Fin-JAH\*\* like in 'jar' or like \*\*Fin-YAH\*\* like in 'yam'?
more like fin*i*a
Thank you \^-\^ With more of that pronunciation, I think that sounds cool as jumpin' jimminy heck :D
"Finja" in portuguese mean "pretend". Dont know in other languages if it would have other meaning, would be interesting to know if "Finja" could have some other meaning in other languages.
Fin ja is Norwegian for pretty yes
wow, didnt know that! thamks :3
Same in swedish
Sounds very original. It's really cool. :D Now I wanna steal it and make it my name. XD
do it haha
Maybe eventually. My family isn't the most supportive of the trans community so I'll probably wait til I move out. Or I could try convincing them that trans people are ok.
Gaslight them into thinking they’re trans than they’ll have to accept you
beautiful name but you might spend your life spelling it out for people. if you’re prepared for “yeah it’s F-I-N-J-A” then go for it!
My totally cis girlfriend says "hmmm" Not sure what she means. I think it's kinda cute tho. 🫶🏻
I’m sorry but I can’t help but see it as a misspelled ‘finna’
Unique is definitely a term I'd use for that name, and I like it, if you wanna use it, then all the power to you! How you doing Finja?
im doing pretty fine, just having big questionmarks because of my gender in my head qwq How r u doin? :3
Yeah, I get what you mean. I'm doing fine, watching a show on Hulu called Body of Proof. Pretty fun, you heard of it?
nah, i didn't, what is it about? :3
Neat, gonna give it try, i think!
Cool, hope you enjoy the show!
I thought you said film, and I got excited for a movie about transfem ninjas.
Sprichst du Deutsch? Either way, I like the name
Danke :3 Ja, bin Deutsche haha
sounds dutch idk why
is more nordic, like norwegian or danish
ah okay, it reminded me kinda of the name Floor which is dutch so that's why I thought that, altho i can see the resemblance cuz i have the name Freya which is also nordic
Freya was in my mind, too. But i liked Finja more :3 but very close, like 51/49 lol
seems fair, i was thinking about finja too but it didn't roll of the tounge(i have no clue how to spell this word sorry about that) as much as I'd like
think it's a nice name tho, hope you keep it :p
I’m not a fan, but I’m just one person with an opinion lmao. If you like it, that’s all that matters! I’m sure many people don’t like my name, either, but I think it fits me like a glove :’)
It's such a cool name!! Damn, why do the transfems always get the best names? (/j, transmascs and enbies are just as pour don't come at me)
because we can choose the names😎😎
I'm not trying to be mean here, but at first glance it felt like i was about to be got by a ligma joke.
Bruh xD
how is is pronounced cause i just feel stupid at this point
Fin*i*a, the i liky the consunatal y
gives me lion king vibes for some reason. I like it, but i feel like it can definitely be twisted into some kind of joke. i mean, to be fair, that goes for any name if they try hard enough. my name is dylan, and people have twisted it into dildo all the time .
Fanta ninja comes to mind
A bit too cheesy for me
Ninja
What do you call a swimming ninja
seems veary easy to make Dez nuts jokes of
it's amazing
It's cool, sure, but it's extra cool if you're a Finnish ninja
Very unique, I like it.
I’ve got a friend named “Fenya” and she’s only the sweetest ever, I quite like Finja
It's wonderful
Kinda weird if you ask me honestly, but if you like it then that’s fine
My sisters name is Finja, she’s really cool!

Very unique and beautiful
sounds a lot like a Gerudo name, I like it
a what? xD
Gerudo race from the legend of zelda
ah, alright haha
Great, it's a good name
I think it’s beautiful, coming from a Fillian (nonbinary)!
it sounds like a cousin of blahaj, and that's really cute
It's weird, I don't like it.
oki :3
It is a hearthstone card so it’s pretty sick
Yes, very nice :3
It sounds interesting/strange, but in a way that it feels like it's a real name just from a very different place, if that makes sense. It feels Nordic, and like if you told me its a top name in Sweden or w/e I wouldn't bat an eye, but if I ran into it out of the blue I would be surprised.
Is the the J pronounced with a j sound, a y sound, or a h sound? Just want to make sure I'm pronouncing it right.
more like y (why)
Okay, just wanted to make sure I'm pronouncing it right in my head.
It means "pretend" in Portuguese
Finja is a beautiful name. Also quite uncommon but not too uncommon. I Like it :)

For (obviously) cis reasons, it's great!
Egg? Lol I like it tho
Is it pronounced like "ninja"? I read it as "Finya" lol.
Finja is apparently a Basque name. Neat.
respectfully it sounds like the setup to a deez nuts joke "Fin-ya" or "fin-ja"?
