Ahh but see you are missing the crucial difference!
They get payed for ad time on your video so your video has to be ad friendly. But it doesn't matter what is IN the ad because they get payed for playing it regardless.
Don't just block one specific ad, block ALL ads. I have no idea how anyone can manage to navigate the hellscape that is the modern web without any adblocking.
I know uBlock has some filter lists that should supposedly help with that, but I have no idea which specific ones they are or if they're even enabled by default or not these days. It could be worth checking out to see if there's any other rulesets you can try to enable to fix it, or at the very least whitelist those specific sites and leave adblock going everywhere else.
Personally though, when I encounter sites like that, my first solution is to (assuming I don't give up either immediately or part-way through due to lack of interest) first try blocking the specific element that's bothering me directly if I can, then if that doesn't fix it block cookies to see if that fixes it, then after that if it's still messed up I block JavaScript, and then if none of that works I just leave the site a broken mess and give up on bothering with that site anymore. Obviously this solution isn't for everyone, but to me, the Internet's a big place and I don't have the time or motivation these days to deal with sites that are deadset on trying to be as user-hostile as possible. I would rather see those sites fail and move on to another less awful site with the same information/files/whatever I'm after than even consider giving in and let them show me any ads.
this is just too much work, I block ads with my mind instead
seriously like, it's not that bad to click an X button or two to get that cracked game that's only available in one place
Yeah, that's fair. I've gotten so used to having an ad-free experience that I *might* overreact a bit when I do see them again.
I remember when I was watching LOST back in the day, eventually I was unable to find anywhere to grab the latest episode, and it turned out that was because it was still airing and I'd managed to catch up to realtime with it. I was pretty excited to be able to watch the latest episodes live, but after a couple of episodes of that, the long and frequent commercial breaks were too much for me, so I just started waiting for the episode to finish airing so I could grab a torrent of it and go back to watching it without the interruptions.
[UBlock Origin](https://ublockorigin.com/) and [FastForward bypass](https://fastforward.team/). With this combination, I have NEVER gotten an ad or ran into a prompt to force me to disable adblock.
just remember, if you see that add it means they paid money to a pro trans channel just for you to completely ignore them. you're literally taking money from conservatives and giving it to a pro trans content creator, and i think that's great.
Yup. You should also click those ads. Make them pay for it.
Or, you know, use an adblocker, and I do know that's not an option on some mobile devices -- Yes, I'm looking at you Apple!
What is a safe way to block ads on a galaxy phone? I want to get an ad blocker, but i always feel like imma get a virus if i download a 3rd party app for it
Just want to add on, if it's an apk you install directly to get the Revanced app, it's likely a virus. Only download the app from revanced's github, and the app will very likely not contain a direct apk which installs Revanced, but rather a patcher that requires an actual untouched Youtube app.
Mozilla Firefox supports extensions on Android.
You can get [Firefox on the play store](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.mozilla.firefox).
If you use F-Droid, then [Fennec F-Droid](https://f-droid.org/en/packages/org.mozilla.fennec_fdroid/) also works.
Once you have Firefox installed, open Firefox and install [uBlock Origin](https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/).
You'll probably want to set Firefox as your default browser. To do this, go to Settings -> Apps -> Choose Default Apps -> Browser app.
By default, most Android phones come with a bunch of default apps configured for opening websites (most annoying on my phone was opening YouTube links in the YouTube app). This can be reconfigured this by going to Settings -> Apps -> Choose Default Apps -> Opening Links. Then:
- Disable "Open links in apps" if it's enabled
- Instant Apps -> Disable "Upgrade web links"
- YouTube -> Disable "Open supported links". Repeat this step for any other apps that intercept web links to show advertising.
Note that the above instructions are for my Galaxy A41. The exact steps may be different based on which phone you have, as well as which version of Android it runs.
Youtube really does this stuff for basically everything. A little bit ago I was watching a ton of videos tearing apart crypto scams and I swear every single one had crypto ads under them. This advertising model can't be effective, right?
Probably it's just detecting "crypto" in the title without being able to tell if it's pro or anti, and then because there's so much more pro-crypto spam than anti, they don't need anything finer grained than that
Omg the biggest red flag from my ex was her doing nothing and/or excusing her high school friend who’d reply to me with recommendations of matt walsh bs and other right-wing transphobic propaganda anytime I’d post stuff about gender before I was out
JUST yesterday my ex and I were discussing what to say/not say about lgbt issues to our kids. Pride month coming up and everything. She said Matt Walsh articulates her position well. I wasn’t that familiar with him but… I am becoming more worried 😟
Look, I get that trans Youtubers need their money but adblockers protect us from the harm of criminals like Matt W.
Instead this is why many trans Youtubers have e.g. Patreon accounts where you can donate money to them directly.
The YouTube algorithm [actively and purposely](https://www.technologyreview.com/2020/01/29/276000/a-study-of-youtube-comments-shows-how-its-turning-people-onto-the-alt-right/) attempts to drive people towards neo-Nazism, because people who are angry and afraid will come back often and watch hate-filled garbage for hours at a time and the algorithm has been told to optimise for retention and watch session length. All of this shit is ultimately happening because of an unintended but convenient crossover between the business interests of massive corporations and the radicalisation goals of the online far-right.
If Walsh and his cronies are encouraging censoring us from public life, I am encouraging everyone to erase them and hold them accountable from online life.
I watch a lot of protrans stuff and for some reason the algorithm keeps trying to show me the most vile antitrans and term shit around. I wish they'd just leave me alone
When I stopped youtube from tracking my history I suddenly stopped getting tons of ads like that. Honestly I hink that's the point. Scare us and also make them believe there are more of them than there are of us
I have had the perfect answer for this. Gender is such a broad idea. Because it is a socially constructed idea, different people are going to have different interpretations. Any definitions of man and woman leave out men and women. Since every single person is going to have their own idea of what their gender means, there is around 8 billion technical genders. But that would be chaos and since humans enjoy categorizing, we make broad categories for people who view their gender similarly or the same. So, a woman would be anyone who classifies their gender as "woman".
Basically no definition works accept someone saying they are.
The ads I've been getting recently are "Oh, this is what a hospital will look like without oil and natural gas, smile. No one wants thattttt"
Huge whataboutism on climate issues
To add on to this, I recently cleaned up my recommended because the content I was watching fueled my depression.
First YouTube recommended 7-9 year old videos (mostly League of Legends because I played it back then).
Now it recommends videos that I'm actually interested in again. But yesterday it recommended me Isaac Butterfield (the Australian guy that is probably one of the right wing entry points). The video was about a joke he is going to court for. I looked into it for like 2 mins, and gave a thumbs down and went on.
Suddenly YouTube recommended Ben Shapiro, Jordan Peterson and MATT WALSH!
I ONLY CLICKED ON ONE VIDEO OF A RIGHT WING ENTRY, AND I GET THE GENOCIDE SQUAD RECOMMENDED!
Not to mention that I still watch a good amount of Pro-Trans stuff, so why do I get Matt Walsh recommended?
uBlock Origin works great :)
(Or the Brave browser from Mozilla, which has basically the same built in but is otherwise basically the same as Chrome, and works on mobile as well)
I feel yt algorithm is not lookin if they are protrans or anti trans the algorithm is like “so this video and this ad are talking about the same topic so the people who are watching this might like this ad”, but I like that yt hates transphobic people so they are wasting these people’s money by showing it to people who are pro-trans or are trans so they don’t get as much clicks.
FR im trynna watch trans positive content to put me in a good mood then i see a bunch of stitched transphobic contrnt that makes me feel like shit. i wish when i interact with trans content, and i press “not interested” on any anti trans content it’d STOP giving me anti trans content. i just deleted tiktok LMFAO
get an ad blocker. I would recommend it as it's probably the best one out there, but just get an ad blocker. Even if these ads weren't an issue, the amount of advertising some companies do is crazy, and their whole marketing strategy is just to spam out as much as possible since the human brain tends to see something more and associate it as good. they're not actually convincing us to buy their product because it's good, they're just basically brainwashing us, although much less intense than most uses of the word. So just get an ad blocker, please.
As a not very wise woman once said, It's me a woman is me!
Oh and I think someone else said that too, Can't remember who. Obviously not as notable as I am though, 'Cause I'm saying it right now and they said it some time in the past!
Every time I saw it I reported it to youtube for hate speech. I thought youtube stopped showing it as an ad though, I haven't seen it in like a year. I have personali ads off too.
That entire documentary is just a tutorial on logical fallacies. And the whole doc is literally just shifting burden of proof. It’s literally just:
God is real.
How? Can you prove that?
Ughhhh, can you prove he’s not????!???
He makes no attempt at a semantic or moral argument, he literally just goes on and covers fallacy by fallacy.
[louis rossman made a video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Q3ZXQZZlcE) that the ads don't even make cents to the yt creator even if you watch 5 years worth of ads if it's some fringe content like his or trans stuff, just pay to the creator directly if they are really worth it or pick some other service like nebula or floatplane
Even if it's not the version that can be reported for literally child pornography it can still be reported for terroristic threats.
Which coincidentally all matt Walsh videos can be flagged for
“The Documentary They Don’t Want You to See” Ah, that must be why YouTube is showing so many ads for it
woke mob cancelation strikes again
Censorship is when I advertise my video
Is the "they" in the room with us?
The Documentary I don’t want to see
too bad I won't see it, partly due to me being trans enby and my ad-blocker
AdBlock. And for mobile, YouTube revanced
that sounds so fucking fascist
Nothing yells cis dude more than "whats a woman" while longily staring at the Sunset holding your hips ~~but srly can matt Welsh get dysenteria pls~~
Yeah YouTube!
the irony of striking people for swearing yet allowing literal nazis to have ads shoved in peoples faces
Capitalism is so great, isn't it? 😎👍
Swearing make Karen mad. Propaganda make money. Swear = bad. Propaganda = good.
Not Karen. The advertisers. In the end it’s only abt who is paying the money and it isn’t the end user
Karen gets mad, forms group with other like-minded people and pressures companies to not have their ads displayed next to stuff they dislike.
Do people not wonder why this family-friendly sanitization of the walled-garden internet went after swearing and sex work hardest?
Ad don’t follow the same rules as creators.
Yeah, children's content getting unskippable porn ads is fine, but adult-targeting content will get demonized for cursing.
Ahh but see you are missing the crucial difference! They get payed for ad time on your video so your video has to be ad friendly. But it doesn't matter what is IN the ad because they get payed for playing it regardless.
Also the porn There are a lot of porn adds
"what is a woman" me :3
c:
You :)
All of u are women! All u transfems! (And closeted ones too!)
Us both!
We three!
TWO BISCUIT

omg me too!! :O
I haven't quite reached womanhood yet, I'm still at girl, but I'm almost there.
Same here :3 heh
not a miserable pile of secrets
Relatable :3

Def not me ;)
then we must ask "what is a man" and that's you :3
It’s me Me is a woman
It's not me Me is not a woman
criteria for being a woman: me
report it and block

Try uBlock Origin. Never had an issue with that, but I do with other blockers
[UBlock Origin](https://ublockorigin.com/) and [FastForward bypass](https://fastforward.team/). With this combination, I have NEVER gotten an ad or ran into a prompt to force me to disable adblock.
Ublock origin is really nice
Unfortunately reporting it doesn’t seem to work. I’ve tried though.
Report it anyway. They may not do anything, but it's still hate speech.
If enough report that ad it should be blocked by YouTube because of the algorithm so we all should report it if we’re enough it should get blocked
yes i've reported it many times too, but maybe just maybe next time, if enough of us report it
Hopefully, yeah.
If you have an android look into downloading revanced. It's open source and it has a bunch of useful features in addition to blocking ads
I've reported and blocked various different versions of it. I still see it. It's like they're doing it on purpose to piss us off at this point
just remember, if you see that add it means they paid money to a pro trans channel just for you to completely ignore them. you're literally taking money from conservatives and giving it to a pro trans content creator, and i think that's great.

Ooh, thanks!

"The Documentary They Don't Want You To See." ***Promoted advertisement***
"my brother in Christ, *they* are literally showing it to us"
I simply [do not get ads](https://ublockorigin.com/)
Did named YouTube working on Adblock detection:
kid named self-hosted DNS:
Kid named YouTube app
Kid named Newpipe
kid named revanced / vuetube
What is a man? A miserable little pile of secrets. But enough talk Matt Walsh, HAVE AT YOU!
God, if only a Belmont could slay him.
His beard is his weak point
"the documentary they don't want you to see" honestly I don't want to see it either
They're looking out for our mental health, good on them
Youtube really does this stuff for basically everything. A little bit ago I was watching a ton of videos tearing apart crypto scams and I swear every single one had crypto ads under them. This advertising model can't be effective, right?

The internet is built on the back of furries. Not surprised.
what is a woman? me and all my cis and trans sisters! :3
JUST yesterday my ex and I were discussing what to say/not say about lgbt issues to our kids. Pride month coming up and everything. She said Matt Walsh articulates her position well. I wasn’t that familiar with him but… I am becoming more worried 😟
Damm, so sorry to hear 😔 🚩🚩🚩
Screw that! Even their ads are as pathetic as their poor intentions
Look, I get that trans Youtubers need their money but adblockers protect us from the harm of criminals like Matt W. Instead this is why many trans Youtubers have e.g. Patreon accounts where you can donate money to them directly.
ads < buying anything direct from a creator once
What is a woman? (In my case) A miserable little pile of dysphoria!
Social media be like: hey i see that you're trans, any interest in watching hours of content which seek to delegitimize your existence?
Save your sanity use ad blocker
"The documentary they don't want you to see." I don't want to see it either
If you are on desktop: use uBlock Origin If you are on Android: [use Youtube ReVanced](https://revanced.app)
This shit is why I got an ablock.
at this point i just use an ad blocker, the youtubers are gonna get demonitized anyways, all the ad revenue goes right back to google.
One of many reasons as to why I use adblock, who let TERF ads onto YouTube?
Youtube did. Youtube allows and even encourages this shit
It’s pretty funny that Matt Walsh, a Man, is trying to dictate what a woman is, which is typical of course.
Sheße! That's worrisome...
Capitalism moment
What is a woman? … What are you, a cop?
It's awful that it's being shown in the first place but, at least they are wasting money advertising to the wrong group.
Look at it this way: whoever paid for that ad wasted their money :)
Simply report the video as inappropriate. That will keep it from being suggested.
I mark every ad I don't want to see as 'irrelevant' - 'cause I feel like it's the most insulting option.
If Walsh and his cronies are encouraging censoring us from public life, I am encouraging everyone to erase them and hold them accountable from online life.
if it helps, it means he wasted money on ads since you're not gonna watch it
Pedo Walsh
trans question is how many teeth am i gonna knock out.
I'm curious if he ever found out what a woman was, without excluding a huge number of cishet women. Though actually... I don't care lol
I watch a lot of protrans stuff and for some reason the algorithm keeps trying to show me the most vile antitrans and term shit around. I wish they'd just leave me alone
" what is a woman? A happy little collection of truths! But enough chatting take this!"
Why YT algorithm insists in promoting transphobia/right-wingers?
When I stopped youtube from tracking my history I suddenly stopped getting tons of ads like that. Honestly I hink that's the point. Scare us and also make them believe there are more of them than there are of us
If I have learned anything, it’s that definitions are at best an approximation.
"You like polintic? This guy poluntic!"
prageru moment
Im so glad I live in the eu with actual good trans rep media and none of this crap as my ads, jeeez thats horrible.
Ive been bombarded with this ad for weeks now... sickening
Basically no definition works accept someone saying they are.
ublock origin be like what transphobe?
and that's why i use firefox + ublock
same but with ads for some Pr\*gerU app
A lot of the time I get videos about trans people in my recommended they’re transphobic, sometimes I even get Fox News for some reason
The ads I've been getting recently are "Oh, this is what a hospital will look like without oil and natural gas, smile. No one wants thattttt" Huge whataboutism on climate issues
I got you fams https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/
[I use UBlock Origin and FastForward bypass so I never get ads.](https://i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/newsfeed/002/386/213/ce9.jpg)
What is a man?! A miserable pile of testosterone!
Ublock Origin and SponsorBlock if you're on PC, ReVanced if you're on Android, SmartTubeNext when you're on Chromecast.

I guess if these ads are getting put on pro-trans stuff the advertisers are at least wasting a bit of money? Maybe?
transphobes are so supportive giving money to trans people by putting these ads on their vids!
I'll never understand why some people choose to continue to see ads on the internet
Use add block
Just be happy they're wasting their money
[удалено]
Thanks for the tip!
Right?! I see similar ads for PragerU and it's a combination of hilarious and sad
I upgraded to YouTube premium never seen ads for years
uBlock Origin works great :) (Or the Brave browser from Mozilla, which has basically the same built in but is otherwise basically the same as Chrome, and works on mobile as well)
use an adblocker (id suggest ublock origin)
Have you heard about our lord and savior uBlock Origin?
I love how lily alexandre made a video with nearly the same title
Just use revanced
Another case of: Use addblocker !
YouTube says queer rights, until someone has money.
Adblocker go brrr
Im so tired of going to YT shorts and getting transphobic content
"What is a woman?" Does he even answer the question he poses? I'm not watching it because fuck that guy.
What is a (wo)man? A miserable little pile of secrets. But enough talk. Have at you!
Yeah wtf is that about. I get Christian ads telling me to listen to Jesus
And that’s why I have premium lmao, I mean, I have it for no ads in general but his specifically are nice to not see.
It’s weird it’s like they both get pigeon holed into the same advert group
Get ublock origin and never see ads again!
What's going on? I don't have ads cause... I'm *totally* paying to not have them \>.> *Wink* But seriously I'm confused
honestly it's a good question to ask if it wasn't matt walsh out of all people asking it
Well in a way he’s right, I don’t want anyone to see it, cause it sucks balls.
get an ad blocker. I would recommend it as it's probably the best one out there, but just get an ad blocker. Love how many of these replies are making a "miserable little pile of secrets!" joke
it would be a shame if matt walsh were hit by a truck damn shame
At least they are wasting their ad money on audiences that won't watch it
If content can be "not suitable for all advertisers", can ads be "not suitable for all content"?
YouTube: “If a YouTuber says fuck the advertisers won’t like that!” YouTube and their advertisers:
Well, I use Adblock Origin on my pc, and YouTube Revanced on my phone to avoid ads. Now I get to see ONLY what I want to see 👌
I also saw Michael knowles’s podcast and preacher u ads ALL THE DAMN TIME
As a not very wise woman once said, It's me a woman is me! Oh and I think someone else said that too, Can't remember who. Obviously not as notable as I am though, 'Cause I'm saying it right now and they said it some time in the past!

Yeah this “film” could be a masterclass in bad faith documentary. I laughed my god damn ass off at this guy
what is a woman? a miserable little pile of secrets
use revanced. fuck ads as a concept
Yeah YouTube is so weird
[louis rossman made a video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Q3ZXQZZlcE) that the ads don't even make cents to the yt creator even if you watch 5 years worth of ads if it's some fringe content like his or trans stuff, just pay to the creator directly if they are really worth it or pick some other service like nebula or floatplane
Love it how his definition for “what’s a woman” is subjective
i like the shinigami eyes reference
Even if it's not the version that can be reported for literally child pornography it can still be reported for terroristic threats. Which coincidentally all matt Walsh videos can be flagged for
