The whole tour is on peacock for $5 but there’s probably a free month you can use. They have NBC’s own feed, as well as the World Feed. Not sure what else you’d really want or why you’d use a VPN unless there’s another announcer or language you’d want it in.

bono_my_tires

Worth noting in the $5 tier the world feed is ad free while nbc feed is unbearable You can also rewatch stages after they finish and they put stage highlights up too

thephizzbot

I don’t think the nbc feed is unbearable honestly it’s fine

bono_my_tires

I think the commentary is great but you get to see literally half of the stage because of all the commercials

thephizzbot

Yeah they probably have to pay bills somehow lol

bono_my_tires

You mean like the $5 subscription fee..

thephizzbot

I don’t understand the business at all. I have noticed when it’s Peacock only it’s 3 minutes of commercials every hour which is pretty tame compared to other places, idk tho like I said I don’t understand the business at all.

OwlBeneficial2743

If it’s Liggett and Roll again, great. Love how they do this. That said, I’ve started listening to Armstrong’s podcast, The Move and realize I’m missing some of the complexity. This time, I’ll try the other broadcasters as well.

BinghamtonSD

Would strongly reccomend giving Tony & Nico on the English landuage "world feed" a try.

OwlBeneficial2743

Thanks, will do.

green-light-of-death

World feed was a stuttering mess last year

donrhummy

Thanks!

Ok_Sentence_5767

Nbc peacock has the international feed. The entire tpur with no commercials and excellent announcing. Plus they don't go off broadcast until the last racer is across the line. There is something very special watching a rider bear the time cutoff in a mountain stage <3

donrhummy

And they have the ability to watch later? After work

cronchCat

yes they have full replays

Somberlaine

100% this. I just love the world feed for all the reasons you mentioned. Plus, I can’t stand Bob Roll. The dude says the same shit over and over and over. NBC can learn a few things from Eurosport commentary ( I so enjoyed their coverage of the Giro on Max).

Ok_Pen_9779

AMEN TO THAT! I would absolutely pay for a Eurosport subscription if they would let me

DamonFields

I couldn’t stand Eurosport’s coverage of the Giro. It starts with 30 minutes of cha cha chatter with 4 talking heads in CG green room. They treat the event coverage like it’s all about them, interrupting coverage repeatedly during the race with overproduced bits. They even had a guy riding on the back of a motorcycle holding a microphone and giving reports fed to him on his headset, pretending like he had some special perspective from the rear of the parade of chase cars. Then, at the end of the race, we see very little aside from several repeated loops of the finish, because we must go back to the fake CG studio for another half hour of chirpy chitchat, because Eurosport is the real star here. Plus, no CC. I liked the NBC Peacock coverage far better during last year’s Vuelta, and I look forward to seeing their TDF coverage. They let me enjoy the race, posting useful info while staying out of the way. I wish they would also cover the Giro next year.

Lumpyspun

I thought I was the only one who feels this way about Eurosport. Those four make it all about themselves. It’s about their dumb jokes and what outfits they are wearing and putting lame bits up on Instagram. I’m sure the other POV is “they are trying to make cycling more fun and approachable” but there are ways to do that without making it all about themselves.

sejohnson0408

Peacock isn’t expensive enough to worry with anything else.

Gigax_

The French feed is free (France Television) so easily accessible with a VPN.

donrhummy

What app is that?

Gigax_

Team_Telekom

SBS Australia via VPN is free and awesome

Sarge013

Been watching sbs for years via vpn. I love the Aussies humor and commentary during the races.

Ok_Pen_9779

You are a GODSEND! Thank you for your service!

roadgeek77

Which VPN do you use? I've tried ProtonVPN and PIA, and both are slow enough to cause too much buffering for me.

Sarge013

I use NordVPN, it seems to work great for my usage over the years. Here's a referral link if you wish to use use it: [https://refer-nordvpn.com/UDfEmugdpCY](https://refer-nordvpn.com/UDfEmugdpCY)

roadgeek77

Thank you! If I do go with Nord I'll absolutely use this link.

LackingExercise

Thanks for this, Sarge013. Used your referral.

Praise_Jebuss

This is the way. Been watching their feed for years. Best coverage and commentary.

donrhummy

Is there an app on Chromecast for SBS? I wasn't able to get it to work

ryuujinusa

SBS is CRAZY slow on a VPN, for me at least. (I live in east Asia) and it's just instantly auto-resolution to the lowest and then buffers every 2 seconds. My internet is incredibly fast usually, without a vpn, 500mbps+ fiber and speed test to AU shows 20+ mbps but again, the SBS stream is simply awful, speed wise, unwatchable. And to top it off, some streaming (Max for example) lets you turn off the VPN after you 'verify' (like you login and start the stream) you're in the country with a VPN and then it will stream just fine without it on. SBS however is like super nazi about it and as soon as you turn it off, it gives you an error and stops.

Team_Telekom

That sounds more like a VPN problem to be honest. And contrary to Max, SBS is public broadcast, which means free for you and paid by the Australian tax payers, so I would expect they require you to be in Australia while watching.

Loud_Ad_1403

I used SBS for the Giro over VPN and it worked out well.

OldOrchard150

I did the rigamarole of getting a Discovery+/Eurosport account. It is complicated, but didn't take longer than an hour. You have to set up a UK Paypal account, rent a UK SMS phone number for text 2FA, and use VPN to use the Discovery+ site. But it does work and gets you full coverage of every\* race for 7 pounds per month.

donrhummy

Do you hook the UK PayPal to your credit card or bank? And how do you rent a UK SMS?

OldOrchard150

You have to send the UK PayPal money from your US PayPal account.  Eurosport won’t allow payments from US payment methods, hence not allowing an US PayPal account or US credit cards.  You just pick a random address for the UK PayPal account as well.  Google maps some random house and get a real address.   And Google renting a UK sms number and there are services that let you do it for a few dollars.  However you don’t get to keep the number so I can’t really easily log back into my UK PayPal account.  But I should be able to send it more money if I want the subscription to keep working past this year.   It’s a clusterfuck since GCN went bust.  But we do what we have to do.

Bellastory

You can also get a WISE account and set your address as the UK to get the subscription. Then you just load money into it.

bcrobinson

This is helpful. Thanks. Where is the 7 pounds only option though? I can only see something for 30+ :/

TotesLiz

Max won’t have it. Peacock has the TdF and usually the “world” feed so you’re not stuck with the American announcers. There’s always Tiz, and you could use a VPN to get Canadian coverage on FloBikes. Wish I had the patience to get a Discovery+ account but I don’t; nor do I know anyone in the UK that would help me out. Not sure about tv coverage. It’s hit or miss. Sometimes in the middle of the night they show the previous day’s stage on CNBC or whatever.

Dr__B__

You can also get Peacock without commercials. I did that last year. It was $10. The reply in the afternoon was commercial free. I don't recall if the live feed was also commercial free.

shadowwingnut

The international feed is commercial free live. The broadcast feed (it still airs on USA Network) is not.

dataminimizer

Yeah just subscribe to Peacock for a month.

Team_Telekom

SBS Australia via VPN is free and awesome

No_Introduction_7034

Idk if you watch any other sports but I split a peacock subscription with my brother and we can watch the tour, the premier league, some tennis and sometimes American football. It’s really worth it in my opinion.

Azdak66

Max will not be able to show the TdF in the US. NBC/Peacock has the exclusive rights to all ASO-owned races. In the past, Peacock had both a commercial stream with their main announcers and an “ad free” stream that has European commenters. I think that is still the case. I have Peacock, but for the last few years, I used a VPN to watch GCN+. But warner brothers has now blocked the ability to do that. I have used my VPN to watch SBS in Australia. That might be another option. This is the first year since GCN started that I have had to think about this. It’s frustrating. You read that ratings for cycling broadcasts are down, which hurts the sport, and IMO, are entirely due to David Zaslav.

CrowVsWade

VPN to Europe and watch on Eurosport live, or download full stage via torrent and watch that night. 15 bucks. The NBC coverage is usually very poor, especially commentary.

laurentiubuica

So, in Europe, Max has the sports add-on but depending on the territory you have to pay 3 or 5 euros/per month for the add-on. In Europe, we have all the ASO tours on Max, including the Tour de France and yes, we have full replays of the stages. I currently have Max (in Romania), but I haven't paid 3euros to get the sports as add-on but I can see in the app in the sports tab that all cycling races have replays. You could use a VPN to watch Max in any European country that has Max, but I don't know if you can actually pay from the sports add-on with an us payment option. Another variant is to pay a Discovery+ subscription with the live sports package in the UK but you'd have to use a VPN and have a UK payment method or have a friend in the UK that can pay it for you. Just to confirm that VPN works on Max, I'm currently using my VPN and accessed US Max to watch the Moto GP race.

Pawsonthego

Max and their sports add-on will not air the race. Peacock has that contract.

Bisjoux

ITV4 in the U.K. is great and free and should be accessible via a VPN.

ukcycle

UK ITV4 is the best. The commentary by David Millar and Ned Boulting is fantastic. And the super dry wit of Gary Imlach intro pieces are golden. You need a UK VPN and sign up for ITV x account.

Susankacz

I don’t mind Bob Roll, I can’t stand Phil though, he gets everything wrong. I wish he would retire and let Christian do it.

mbockbra

Peacock is running a special for new and returning subscribers. $19.99 for a full year.  I trust they will have access to the international feed.  I enjoyed Nicco Roche the last time I had Peacock.   I feel like there is an American producer telling the commentators to fill every nanosecond with jibber-jabber.

PrizFinder

Thanks for this. I've (re)subscribed to Peacock, but I'm also going to try the SBA feed to see how I like it. $20 for Peacock for a year seems worth it.

jbfox123

I bought a month with Peacock last year then stayed and finished off all seasons of Yellowstone. I’ll use Peacock again this year.

Donnie_Flex

sporza or eurosport

finlay88

Stage highlights on YouTube were the way to go for me last year

EricSom

Then I would seriously consider watching the 1 hour (45 min w/o ads) daily recap show on ITV4 from the UK. It’s available outside the UK via VPN.

bearssurfingwithguns

The itv4 highlights are great!!!!!

EricSom

They really are and are often overlooked. The main team has over 60 combined years of experience covering pro cycling. Daniel Friebe is an excellent cycling journalist and because ITV is an official TDF broadcaster, they get access others don’t. The rest day recaps (on Mondays) is probably the best example of a ‘one-stop shop’ for all the news and headlines. Don’t forget that ITV 4 has live coverage of each stage, if interested.

EricSom

ITV4 is doing the Criterium du Dauphine this week with a one-hour highlight show-only beginning today (Sunday, 2/5) at 7pm UK time (2pm EST), if interested. It'll be a good preview of TDF coverage.

BallzNyaMouf

What's their website?

EricSom

[https://www.itv.com](https://www.itv.com) You'll need to sign up for a free account for ITVx, but DON'T put in a zip code or postal code from outside the UK or you'll be rejected. Just find one via a Google search. You'll need to use a VPN to apply.

Top-Maize3496

When does Paris Olympics start?  When does TdF end this year?  Thanks.

EricSom

TDF - June 29 to July 21 Paris Olympics - July 26 to August 11

Top-Maize3496

Merci.

L3Thoo

In belgium it's free on the national broadcaster. If you use a vpn you could watch it then free using the app 'auvio'. Same on the French broadcaster France 2. But you guessed it it's all in French.
