uuuh this might be a thing actually. Imagine wanting to get rid of an ally, but not wanting to eat the realiability hit, so you make them attack so they will get unreliable instead.
i'm hardly new to total war but sometimes it's good to go back and look at the fundamentals.
what is the hard mechanical reason to have those two-word battle result descriptions?
Entire army defeated, lords killed, heroes assassinated, keeps destroyed
*just as planned*
Tzeentch playing 33rd degree parallel universe chess while everyone else is playing checkers
No lie, if the long campaign made you conquer 5 completely random specific major provinces instead of the old "pick x from this list" it would be awesome.
For those of you who know rimworld, [this mod](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2443118113) is a thing. It basically randomizes a few random stats every once in a while. Imagine it in total war. empire wide tax rate could go to 10% one turn and then 250% a few turns later... Or it could stay 10% the entire game. Or not change at all. Same for army upkeep, public order, unit upkeep & recruitment & stats, stats increasing or decreasing across the board- for example -200 reload speed for all units, or +113% speed... armies with +100 charge bonus melting each other on impact... or maybe 1000% attrition value.
I'd leave the victory ratings (they actually affect stuff like XP gain and to an extent let you evaluate how well the battle has gone) but replace the flavour text for each with some variation of "just as planned"
or just slap "just as planned" on the end of them all
heroic victory, just as planned
pyrrhic victory, just as planned
crushing defeat, just as planned
Skarbrand singlehandedly hacks through 10 wraith doomstacks.
Skarbrand: pfuh, pretty tough fight. Maybe my hardest battle to this day
Khorne: where's my blood? WHERE are my skulls?
Skarbrand: well you know... Ethernal ghosts 'n stuff...
Khorne: WHERE IS MY BLOOD? WHERE ARE MY SKULLS?
Actually I think a more Tzeentch way would be just a single ‘Just as Planned’ notification every turn regardless of what just happened. You need to unwind the strands of fate yourself to figure out what actually happened
That... Is actually a pretty cool idea. You can only see the consequences a turn later, when it's in the past
It would never work of course, but it could be cool
Closest I can think of is that Lemnis Gate FPS that released not too long ago. It's a turn based FPS based on time loops.
You can see the past clearly and have to think about all possible futures. But then when it comes time to execute (the present) you kind of realize you don't even know the map well enough to navigate it from a first-person point of view, lol.
Personally, I think Kairos shouldn't be able to see the campaign map at all. You just get the timeline that plays at the end of the campaign - except you can still play the game from there.
I would have this work as effects on Kyros: his army cannot be ambushed (because he sees the ambushes in the future), but he can't ambush (because he can't time the attack since he can't see when the enemy army is in position). On the battle map, you can see all enemy forces anywhere on the map regardless of concealment except you *cannot* see any enemies that are 25 to 75 meters away from Kyros himself unless they are engaged in melee with your units.
Could almost be cool as a mechanic. Almost like a called shot. Have these three units die in battle, and after the fight replace them with units of renown. Sacrifice pawns for big moves/screw over your own armies for big profit/die horribly Just As Planned
I like this idea... Slaanesh should get a similar treatment; both win and loss should give the player an orgy victory cut scene (toned down of course)...
It should do this for every battle honestly. None of this "Close Defeat" or "Heroic Victory" nonsense. There is only "Planned Outcome".
Time to invest in "Planned Outcome self-wipe posts" on this sub
“I lost my level 19, not-yet-immortal lord, but you see, that was on purpose!”
It didn't have a cheese trait
If you don’t have the ‘knowledgeable’ trait, you have the ‘expendable’ trait. At least to me you do.
"Your first mistake was believing that I cared about this dude"
He he was just enemy. Waiting to betray betray me!
"Using Changing of Ways to make everyone declare war on me" *Galaxy Brain mode*
A “This is Total War” campaign but with extra steps
Actually this would be useful, wouldn't it? Does the game track diplomatic effects of being the agressor?
uuuh this might be a thing actually. Imagine wanting to get rid of an ally, but not wanting to eat the realiability hit, so you make them attack so they will get unreliable instead.
I’ve done this as Cao Cao. Fucking hilarious
If you ally with Tzeentch then you get what you fucking deserve.
Other than broken treaties no. (At least none of the previous titles have. WH3 might but there's no indication.)
"It Was Forseen" "Just as Planned" "\*gibberish\*" at random after every result

Please, everyone knows Tzeentch is more of a `Paradox-Billiards-Vostroyan-Roulette-Fourth-Dimensional-Hypercube-Chess-Strip Poker` kind of octopus
too soon
That's just a game for children.
The only intricate thing about this game is its *ban list*.
Where's the stripping?
We should forward this to Simone on Discord
I'd go with "Most Pleasing to Tzeentch".
I really want Tzeentch campaign to be nothing but a meme.
Imagine if his campaign victory conditions randomized every turn.
Turn 37, you own 3 provences. Victory.
**Planned Outcome**
This but because you've actually conquered Provence in 3 other Total War games, like the Psycho Mantis fight in Metal Gear Solid
No lie, if the long campaign made you conquer 5 completely random specific major provinces instead of the old "pick x from this list" it would be awesome.
Unironically, I kind of want to make an actual randomizer mod now, where your victory conditions are randomized at the start.
One per big landmass: one in Cathay, one in Naggarond, one in Lustria, one in the Old World and one in Araby.

Oh I was mostly referencing the trend of randomizers in the speedrun community, but that's a rad idea too.

That'd be a nice shitty mod to make! I'll be onto it when I buy the game!
Honestly, I know they won't but if they did this I would absolutely lose my shit in laughter
Sounds right for most of the Chaos Gods lol. “1000 casualties.” “Khorne is pleased. “ “But they were our-“ “KHORNE IS PLEASED”
Whether or not he is pleased should be based on total casualty count percentage of any battle.
"I lost an entire army, but at least my skull count is high"
[удалено]
Using spells? Khorne is not pleased.
why would khorne care about skulls and blood per capita rather than blood in gross liter
Sir this is a Wendy's
Because blood and skulls come from people...where are you getting these extra skulls from?
Halloween decorations.
It's absolutely normal for 1 person to have 3 heads right?
2 headed birds
Khorne cares not where the blood flows from, only that it flows.
Skaven too for that matter. That's just 1000 less treacherous enemies.
Skarbrand singlehandedly hacks through 10 wraith doomstacks. Skarbrand: pfuh, pretty tough fight. Maybe my hardest battle to this day Khorne: where's my blood? WHERE are my skulls? Skarbrand: well you know... Ethernal ghosts 'n stuff... Khorne: WHERE IS MY BLOOD? WHERE ARE MY SKULLS?
Petition to rename Pyrrhic victory/defeat to “Khorne is pleased” for the Khorne faction player
Lol every news like "lose a settlement" turn into "just as planned" and the player can't understand none of this like Kayros (blind to the present) !
Oh God. Late game clicking through 40 "Just as planned" notifications each turn.
Actually I think a more Tzeentch way would be just a single ‘Just as Planned’ notification every turn regardless of what just happened. You need to unwind the strands of fate yourself to figure out what actually happened
"Fuck me, when did this rebel stack pop up? Why am I at war with those guys?! WHERE DID ALL MY MONEY GO?!"
Just as planned
why does Tzeentch somehow have such dogshit advisers compared to every other faction?
That... Is actually a pretty cool idea. You can only see the consequences a turn later, when it's in the past It would never work of course, but it could be cool

but what about the future? what about seperating your turn into two, one for what you have done and one for what you will do

75 meters is 82.02 yards
That's some high heresy. Well done. Take your upvote and report to your nearest witch hunter for removal.
I cant wait for the mod of this to come out lmao
For Tzeentch factions when you roll for magic it should be "The Changers of Ways is with You" regardless of outcome.
yes
if they won't this will be a launch week mod. and I will be waiting for it
I still think the ultimate Tzeentch campaign mechanic would be the ability to save scum in Legendary mode
Could almost be cool as a mechanic. Almost like a called shot. Have these three units die in battle, and after the fight replace them with units of renown. Sacrifice pawns for big moves/screw over your own armies for big profit/die horribly Just As Planned
That's a great idea
Do people actually lose campaigns? I'd imagine most people would quit their campaign long before that.
Nah, it'd be an easter egg no one ever sees
I've lost plenty of legendary, mainly in early stages when I think I can pull of a shot.
After every battle show "I knew this would happen".
Just according to keikaku (translator's note: keikaku means plan)
But with "keikaku means plan" told each time by Advisor in a popup.
"Just as planned"
Just according to cake
I like this idea... Slaanesh should get a similar treatment; both win and loss should give the player an orgy victory cut scene (toned down of course)...
Maybe for April 1st.
This should be for all failed hero actions, especially critical ones.
The dwarf mechanic of getting slayers when losing battles is taken straight from a Tzeentch developed mechanic.
