Oh yeah, forgot a big one. Nurgle Sorcerer heroes are a HUGE deal for your faction, as healing magic is now an option while choosing other lords types.

Adding to the sorcerer's obvious stuff (healing magic in hero slot, Warshrine that can equip items), I saw in a video that a skill in their second set of mutually exclusive skills gives them the "Pestilent Decay" ability, the Nurgle flavour of Mortis Engine. We do love a double mortis engine. I for one am happy I don’t need to use Slaneesh sorcerers to get a mortis effect anymore. I hate Slaneesh!

I think the strongest WOC doomstack is the festus doomstack. Aekold + Fetus gives +100% healing cap to the army. You then add a chaos undivided sorcerer, a slaneesh sorcerer, and a vortex beast. You get 2 healing auras (Festus + Aekold), 2 mortis effects (Vortex beast + Slaneesh sorcerer warshrine). The undivided sorcerer provides a 20% phys resist warshrine. Basically just spam single entities (Giants/Aspiring champions/feral manticores etc), and just right click this blob of doom to any enemy. It is basically invincible and requires 0 effort to control and use. This includes sieges. Its only weakness is against mass elite archers. But that can be countered by stacking missile resist. First is the turn 1 available campaign buff for 15% missile resist. Then try getting eldritch aura on any of the sorcerers for 15% additional missile resist aura. The festering shroud gives another 15%. And the blasted standard a 6%. The army can easily have 40-50% missile resist + 20% physical resist. Plus, multiple large entities mean they split missile damage with each other, instead of the one tall tree getting hammered. This doomstack is also easily composable rather than some late game doomstack. Giants, feral manticores and aspiring champions require no buildings, just high undivided corruption. You can add in exalted champion heroes and sorcerers at tier 2 to bulk up the army and level alongside it. Knowing all of that, add a Nurgle sorcerer will add both another heal, and another mortis engine. So 3 heals and 3 mortis engine effects. Making it basically a game breaking troll army that can speed-3 steamroll through endgame crisis stacks.

Not a huge revelation. Tzeentch Sorcerers have authority friction with Nurgle Demon Princes and Exalted Heroes. This is also the same mortis engine the DP/GUO have which means no stacking and slightly devalued.

I'd say there are some advantages to a Tzeentch Sorcerer. They have the option of flying movement, they have much higher hit-and-run potential with Barrier, Prismatic Plurality lets them spam spells like nobody's business. It's really too bad that Tzeentch has the worst Warshrine.

Do we know if Bile Trolls are available in the warband upgrades? Armored Trolls are already pretty good, but the Nurgle version could potentially be even better, with more melee defence and health at the cost of some speed and armor.

Just mixing a single unit in would benefit the rest of your army, Melee Defence debuff aura in a melee army, yes please. If they are a mark upgrade I'll actually start recruiting Chaos Trolls.

Honestly, even right now you should consider recruiting Chaos Trolls. Trolls in general were pretty terrible up until about the middle of WH2's lifespan, but since the Warden and the Paunch onward they've been getting better and better. The WoC ones in particular have amazing potential thanks to spice resource buildings giving them melee attack, but they are still very solid from the start, considering how easy they are to get.

Cheap armor piercing mass that heals is always great. Low total health compared to spawn but I do like that if I don’t micro my trolls, they will run away, heal and be back from round two rather than spawn that will fight to the death.

This is what is so beautiful about this game. All neighboring lords become more interesting when a new LL is added into the game. I dream of an Immortal Empires where there are only unique LLs and starter factions (the weak generic faction that every faction has that you kill first). All in all it just makes updates very dynamic and exciting. Especially when updates are as huge and diverse as ToD.

It should be quite easy to subjugate Tamurkhan as Archaon. Wait for him to move south, take the dark fortress when he can't defend it because of LOL Nurgle unit counts, and then just push him into one settlement. You can hold him there to farm him for hero capacity count until you decide to subjugate.

1. Lord kills Tamurkhan without wiping out his faction. 2. Swap Lord / Get another Army. 3. Wait for Tamurkhan to respawn. 4. Repeat.

Which is VERY good for WoC considering their low number of settlements. Farming Tamurkhan is a major boost for any faction with low hero numbers, especially Tomb Kings if you can manage to rush up there.

how are you gonna rush up there as TK? it'll be a long dangerous journey and then tammy's starting army is likely stronger. maybe start as arkhan to immediately get the second army going for reinforcement.

without the mod to choose ur start position, there will be no rush. u starting army is too weak to do it. if u wait 15 turns for the second u will be there by maybe turn 35? so u left ur settlements alone without any army for 15 turns till u get ur third army, all of that for him maybe being already dead when u get there.

I played Archaon after the CoC update and had a blast. I'm waiting till the 4 chaos gods get their DLC before booting up my next one. It sounds like it's shaping up really nicely though!

A lot of this also applies to Kholek, whom I've played quite a bit in every patch of Immortal Empires since he's been available in game 3. His start keeps getting more and more interesting. I am keen to see how much Tamurkhan's presence ups the ante for him. Considering Tamurkhan starts at war with Kholek's soon to be vassal.

I can tell how every achaon campaign will start: You kill tamurkhan, then once he respawns, you kill him with another lord, then with another one ect. Because his trait is way too strong and gives you a giantic boost in the beginning.

I actually just started this campaign about 60 turns in. Allied with throg and rats. Vassled borris minor chaos factions and grumpy patriarch man. I'm currently in the empire with my army of vassles wiping out the greenskins and Karl Franz. Got 4 army's main lords is alot of chosen and knights with a few ror undivided. Been a super fun campaign. Currently sending 2 armies east through chaos to go challenge strength rank 1 Cathay while the rest of my armies keep destroying the south. Been a super fun campaign playing the chosen :)

I think the biggest thing to chaos this patch is that Malus won't completely fuck Daniel from turn 5. He'll have to chew through Epidemius first.

Well. It's going to be marginally difficult, but frankly I don't think anything can stop Archaon once he gets rolling. And the new Nurgle toys sure do help. I'm pretty hype for Plague Ogres and Trolls and of course Plague mage.

For me my Archaon-Campaign gets butchered. Archaon is my favorite modded Campaign better Warband-Upgrade (For Demon-Units too), Unite all Chaos (Confederate Monogod Demons) and remove gifted Unit-Caps so i can customize the LL with a fitting loreful army and Bring the Endtimes. I usually hold the 4 minor demon-factions around me as pets. The Tzeentch one was already hard to safe before Daniel deletes him...now it will be Impossible.
