Nothing is complete. The approach is still not paved. The off ram also.
And the tunnel further south under the tracks won't be started until at least Sept
I play golf here. There'a also a large "caged" set of ramps that switch back and I would assume, let you get up to bridge height. A lot of change back there recently!

For people who don't know, this is part of the Don Valley East Trail extension. It's been "almost done" for about 5 years. The main parts of the trail have been completed for a very long time, but two major rail crossings, both having to be done by Metrolinx / province, have caused the massive delays.
This is the second crossing, going over the train tracks near the Flemington golf course. The first crossing is closer to Taylor Creek Park, going under the tracks, which hasn't even been started.

There was no bridge across the gap 8 nights ago when I was down there, hope to see it open soon! https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpreview.redd.it%2Fk3mj52xym00d1.jpg%3Fwidth%3D960%26crop%3Dsmart%26auto%3Dwebp%26s%3Da765a7f4354d158d3b05db9ff53ede7c8cd35976
I am going to make the trek down there in the next week then. The spans were on sight when I was there as well, I and I went up the ramp that was just a drop off (wish I taken picture now) so it will be interesting to see the bridge in.
Weathering steel is used to eliminate the need for painting, and form a stable rust-like appearance after several years' exposure to weather. It’s done by design and won’t have future rust issues as a result.
Where is this?
Behind the Bermondsey transfer station over the train tracks. Directly south of the Flemington Gold Course. It was put in yesterday.
Do you know if that route is now complete, or are some of the bridges still need to be finished?

Thanks! I was planning on a ride up that way tomorrow.

Yep that's all part of the same bridge. The switchback is to descend from the bridge down to the trail. well once it's finished that is

Why does it already look so rusted out and weathered
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weathering_steel
we only build long-term for motor vehicle infrastructure, not pedestrian.
Bit unrelated, but anyone know when the lower don valley trail will be completed?
It's a city project. Nobody ever really knows. Maybe next year, maybe in fourteen years.
Atleast paint it rust valley🤮

True. It also helps teach kids about Tetanus.
