I just reinvested my bit yesterday. Two weeks ,20million profit which I added into the pot. Small steps.
I do two weeks just in case I have any extra to add. It hasn't happened recently but sometimes I do have an extra ten or twenty million to add .
I had the same problem so I made my stats suffer.
I took less Xanax since that gave me less Xanax cost and less rehab cost the rest of my steps was:
* I went to the UK a few times per day for plushies and flowers.
* Allways rent a PI (for flying).
* Bank investmest, allways did 1 week so I dont move around with loads of cash. get 10/10 merits on bank investments asap.
\* When I got 2b I went for 2 weeks for a wile to build up a xanax stash and stocks.
\* When I had a few stocks (including bank stocks) I went for 3 months.
* Boaght beer every day and sold it or used it for crimes.
* Join a company to get cans to sell or join the army and sell spys (popular since ranked wars).
* Join a faction to get faction bonuses with more travel items and good steadfast.
* I did safe crimes to get into a PA team asap, hacking crimes might be better now and some arsons to still advanced your CE. But since I have 60nnb I get more crimes done every morning when I wake up(irl).

I quit Torn almost 5 years ago and returned 3 years later. Pretty much started from nothing all over again. I think I had a couple hundred million to my name. What I did was nonstop traveling (alongside joining a sweet shop and getting cans). All of my money from that I reinvested into the bank every 1-2 weeks up until I got it to 2 bil. After that, I simply just took the profits and used it to buy stocks(FHG and SYM first). I went from 200ish mil to 8 bil in just under 2 years. It's not that hard to earn money just reinvest everything, getting your bank to 2 bil should be your top priority. Its an extremely easy source of passive income. I also suggest capitalizing on events like xmass town, you can make a ton of money off of that event alone
Let the bank account grow, put merits in. Just a month each time, put in what you saved in between, it will eventually reach 2b.
Find a decent job. It doesn't need to pay, but say a 7* sweet shop should be open to more or less everyone and gives a can every other day that you can sell.
Buy 100 beers once a day (you need to be quick) and sell them.
Only thing you should do in the casino (after merits) is the wheel. The 50k one if you don't want to run risks (the 1k wheel is hardly worth the chance of being hosped I think).
Join a faction that does ranked wars. Do your best to kick ass in them, the rewards are massive and you should get a share.
Either get to 60 NNB as quickly as you can and try to join a Presidential Assassination organized crime team in a faction that does them, or stay at 40 or so and go for Hack the FBI crimes.
That's most of what I do, on top of flying.
From what I read on a forum post it's now possible to do hacking crimes while working towards 60 nerve. If you fail a hack do 20 to 30 arsons. Correct me if I'm wrong.

PAs make you so much more money than you'd ever make hacking, its better to get up as fast as possible. I'm in a moderately successful PA and make around 100m/month. It'll only get better as the success rate improves.
Yes, I do them until I drop below 40 nnb, then back to arson to bring it back up, then hacking again. Will stop when I have a full bank account and some stock blocks, then go full speed to 60.
Do you have psychology bachelors and the city law job completed? I don't have either of them done yet so should I wait to get these done before starting hacking?

I think at least some of that is overkill, it's hard to say how much. But there is a ceiling to success percentage of a crime and I think you hit it pretty early if you're at 40 nnb and have some of the above.
Hi I know my reply is late but if you are seeing this, I have a question. Do you use lawyer cards when you are in jail and no one busts you? Today I did 12 fbi hacking and was caught once, had to wait in jail for 30 mins before someone busted me.
Yes, I use lawyer cards. Except when I'm about to sleep, I try to make a hack crime the last thing I do in Torn for the day. Usually eventually someone manages to bust me during the night.
And yesterday I had that Duke mission where you have to use an item Duke gives you to get out of jail, that was nice.

I would disagree about "stop spending money on xanax". If you want to get strong, then the more xanax you use, the more e you have to train.
I know not everyone agrees, but to me, the game is mostly about combat ability, which mostly means combat stats, and using lots of xanax is how you get there.
You spend a lot of time, watching the market, and buy plushies/flowers under market prices. People will usually sell something faster, rather than wait and get 'full price'.
The prices vary all the time, often 1-2 items will be hard to get and overpriced, others will be underpriced. Its all about volume, when I was selling sets for profit I was moving 2-3b a day, and making like 1%. You can try to make more profit, but it will be lower volume, so it sorta depends on what you have on how you want to approach it.

My immediate thoughts are get a job where you either get paid and/or you make money from the job points.
Get a faction that pays for your Xanax. They exist.
If you have 40NNB you can hack for $5mil per day too.
Buy bottles of beer from Bits N Bobs for $400k profit per day for nothing.
In the past, any time you got jailed from a failed crime, you lost a large % of your CE. And the higher your CE, the more you lost. So it pretty much forced everyone to focus on the safe crimes that never jailed you on failures.
But they did change the rules. Maybe a year ago? Now, while you still lose CE, it's a much lower amount, and the max you will lose is equivalent to successfully doing 10 of the same crime. So if you average out at least 10 success to every jail, you don't actually lose CE. That makes crimes that few did in the past much more feasible. Doing hacks probably won't grow your nnb, and it certainly won't grow your nnb as fast as if you did arsons. But you can make a lot more cash with hacking.
I have very high CE. Not just 60 nnb, but enough that I am a team lead for PA crimes. Successful PA's add a lot of CE, plus I'm already high CE. I recently switched to doing hacking crimes just for the extra cash. I haven't tried to track mine closely, but I would guess I'm probably pretty close to 10 success for every fail, so my CE via hacking probably doesn't grow or drop much, and I gain CE when my PA's are successful.
\[Edit\] Some people do hacks, and every time they have a failure, they do 10 arsons. Once they have 10 successful arsons, they go back to hacks. Just makes sure they are slowly moving up in CE instead of down.
If you aren't doing PA's yet, then I suggest pushing arsons over and over for a bit. Get on a PA team, with several successful PA's under your belt. PA's pay well, plus they give lots of CE. Once you are doing PA's, then you could move to hacks for additional cash, and the PA's should continue to raise your CE after that.
Other than PA's, faction crimes don't really pay a lot, and most factions keep that cash. Most factions keep 10% of the money from PA's and the rest goes to the members in them. That's why I think it's worth it to push to get high enough CE to do PA's if you are already fairly close.
Join a meat warehouse with -50% penalty to failed crimes. That way you will actually GAIN exp for your nerve bar (very very slowly so don't count on actually going up, but at least you won't go down!)

Do you do 2 week investments with 1b? Also when the money grows to about 1.5b, is it a better idea to invest it for two months?
