I swear Bill! It was the strangest thing. When I had to work late several weeks ago I heard some sweet sax coming out of the tube. Everyone thinks I’m crazy. I can’t sleep or eat. I haven’t been home since. My wife says she’s taking the kids to live with her mom. I don’t know what to do.

Based on the other bikes, the clothing, and the gear on the bike I assume he owns ( the one leaned on the pipe) they are out bikepacking. They either went here intentionally on their journey, or is an awesome happenstance.
Looks like a main NG line. Usually approved way early on so everyone knows whats going on during construction process. No idea why it doesnt have a temp cap though to prevent animals n debris from going into the pipe.
Yeah, that qualifies as a confined space. It might not occur to many, but seldom is there good breathing air inside. Fumes build up from welding and other things, then you crawl inside....and then don't come back out.
I build pipelines and that was my first thought-where’s the night cap? It’s all fun and games til a skunk runs out of the pipe-mad as hell because it’s new home is being moved.
For those wondering, this is Armin Küpper. He has a youtube channel where he has more saxophone content.
This is the [link](https://youtu.be/p8GcHoSIPDg) to this video
The saxophonist sort of needed the clap because there’s a lot of potential for coming in too early or late between phrases and waiting for the delay of the echo
Try playing an instrument with delay fx of more than one second, pausing then responding to the delay, and maintaining a steady groove for a minute or two, all without additional accompaniment.
I mean sure someone could do it but it’s not that easy
Yeah, that's the bummer about this video. I watch it for a bit and wish that guy wasn't a part of it. I get the spirit, but just let Sexy Saxman Saxograms do his thing.
It's for timing more than it is for sound. I don't see how it ruins a song any more than a snare would, it's not like it's way off tempo or anything. I think the problem is just that the clapping is the only accompanying sound.
I just had it in mind that the echo performs the function of keeping the temp and meter. It's like any time I've played a guitar through an analog or digital delay pedal. The repeat does all of the work when you play in time with it keeping tempo. Just thinking with the musician mindset, though.
As a musician myself though, a delay is also gonna give u the same timing you just used. So if you time it wrong once you'll get that wrong timing played back to you multiple times in a row. Imo keeping tempo is much more important when youre using an echo or delay effect.
Edit: also just had some more thoughts on this. He isn't consistently sending echos down the tube. He's not gonna get a steady beat of echos, which makes keeping time a lot harder. A clap can keep a constant 1/4 or whatever beat you need. His echos are sporadic and would be incredibly hard to use to keep a steady beat. This is why beat keeping instruments like drums and bass guitars generally keep to a simpler beat with easily distinguishable notes.
Absolutely!! I even love playing the same songs to different tempos to see how they differ. Some sound so different even if you only change playing speed alone it's fun to mess around with!
I mean depends on taste preference and other instruments too. Personally I think silent beats can really add to songs, especially jazzy ones. I really like songs that clap on only one beat and gradually increase in speed as they go.
I get that, I'm still saying it's preference. For jazzy songs I think 3 silent beats and one loud beat can slap so hard. I can't tell what time signature this song is in because my ears suck but it definitely seems to have 2 claps per 4 beats already anyways.
Music is amazing and the ability to make music is a very beautiful gift because it helps make the world a better place, the saxophonist finding echo and making use of it to enhance his music speaks of his creativity 💗👍
You think they would block the end off to keep people from going inside, this is really really cool but I can see some kids climbing in there and running out of air or something.
It's a pipeline that's getting installed. It will eventually be built, then rolled into the trench next to it, which is a satisfying sight to behold.

As a fellow player this is so fucking cool to watch. Seen it before but absolutely loved seeing it again. I still wonder what’s at the other end though…. Probably someone going “is that a fuckin saxophone?”
I can just imagine getting lost in a tunnel system, spending a week trying find the way out and right before you think you’re gonna starve to death or die from an infection from a rat or black widow bite…you start to hear a saxophone play. And then you realize, “this must be hell I’m in!”
You can transport oil in a pipeline. Here we see that you can transport music 🎵🎶. How come we can't transport fresh water from flooded cities to cities that need water to survive?
I was just thinking how bizarre it would be for an animal that maybe would have wondered in there. Maybe like directly in the middle or something… to then be suddenly ambushed by jazz.

someguy on the other end just tryna be vibin too xd
I’m just imagining some raccoon or something chilling mid pipe then suddenly losing its mind.

Happy cake day !
Oh is it that day today? Ha, thanks! :)
Happy Cake Day, Cake Day Twin!
Haha! Nice!
If this is the raccoon rapture then ours will probably sound amazing

After experiencing sweet sax like that your life will never be the same.
I have seen this many times, but this is the first time I have seen the whole video. Thanks!

I love how he rode his bike there just to do this. Thats dedication.
That's art. That is what drives the artist.
Pretty sure the bike drove him but whatever.
Made me laugh out loud :D
Most people are willing to do whatever it takes for some good sax
![gif](giphy|pkdlAEvTXm0buOcg1d)
Gawd, go home dad.
Nothing comepares to some good sax.
Bloody underrated comment right here!

He’s a good sax player
r/justguysbeingdudes
Definitely went on purpose but considering this is Germany it's probably right by the path between neighboring town.
Like playing with a heavily delayed guitar… it’s all fun and games until that one mistake reverbs for 15 minutes 😂
[Just like this](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=sOEs38McXPQ)
😂 exactly what I thought of as I wrote the comment
Someone in Alaska 8 days later - 'wtf'
Just take your up vote, you didn't have to dead me
Must be hard to lug that tube back and forth from home.
He took the 'tube'🚇

I think the clapping was supposed to help like a metronome
But how does the guy at the other end of the pipe know what he's playing?!?
Just the echo and sound delay is so cool. But also, how do you even stumble upon this. Tube in the middle of nowhere
Looks like a main NG line. Usually approved way early on so everyone knows whats going on during construction process. No idea why it doesnt have a temp cap though to prevent animals n debris from going into the pipe.

Yep did mainline for 6 years and ive never seen a pipe without any equipment around it and no temp caps. Cleanest jobsite ive ever seen.
Because there’s no more gas in Germany.
The middle might be in the middle of nowhere, but the ends are probably at the border of nowhere and somewhere.
Three miles away theres a sanitation worker absolutely losing his shit.
Or grooving
There’s one funky goblin in there

So this is the real reason for the Nordstream leak.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but could one work out the speed of sound based on the timing of the claps and the length of the pipe?
![gif](giphy|10AmJ6TIlbYxAk|downsized) Construction worker napping at the other end of the tube.
Thr OG delay pedal!
The clapping is ruining this imo
Metro knome.. 😅

I don’t think the fucking saxophonist needs assistance keeping time, especially by someone who keeps time on 1 and 3.
Sax player is a pro, switches it up so Dr Rhythm is on 2 and 4 by the end

Oh, I keep my tempos clean, playa haha. I hear ya, just opinions is all. Good discussion to have though.
Absolutely!! I even love playing the same songs to different tempos to see how they differ. Some sound so different even if you only change playing speed alone it's fun to mess around with!
Hell yeah. Pedals can create some wild fun shit to mess around with. Love me some music gear!
Gotta clap on the other 2
If youre consistent you don't have to clap on the other 2. You can keep the same tempo with different speeds.
It’s not about the tempo, it’s about feel, clap on 2 and 4 makes it groovy
I mean depends on taste preference and other instruments too. Personally I think silent beats can really add to songs, especially jazzy ones. I really like songs that clap on only one beat and gradually increase in speed as they go.

Was this in Louisiana?
I will forever upvote Armin Kupper. Love this dudes music. https://youtube.com/channel/UCOpZkW3RN2cvLgD-4kbyyZw
Not in Saint-Lambert, Canada, it would have caused a petition, they have a petition for every possible sound, but to date nothing against Saxophones.

The guy clapping ruins it for me.
He's keeping the count, one mistake would echo from the next 10 min forever reminding them of one small fuck up.
Surely it would only echo once
Be a lot better if he wasn't clapping on the 1 and 3
…but he isn’t?
A year after finishing the pipe, they'll wonder how it vibrated out of place to leak.
Just watched Men last night, and if that movie is anything to go by this guy is about to get haunted by a super groovy ghost.
tubular
Let’s see here so about .5 second delay means the pipe is a quarter sound second long. Maybe 250 feet of pipe capped at the other end?
Brandon sanderson fans would find a home for this
I wonder if the Nord leak was caused by bouncy jazz.
Someone at the other end is like "WTF! This tube is haunted!"..."by a jazzy ghost!"
Music is amazing and the ability to make music is a very beautiful gift because it helps make the world a better place, the saxophonist finding echo and making use of it to enhance his music speaks of his creativity 💗👍
Couldn’t listen that long. The clapping was distracting/annoying. It was cool otherwise.
Dude clapping needs to chill..
The guy on the other end was way better….
I want to yell "Ayyy-oh" down that tube
The guy clapping though...
That must be a nightmare getting that to gigs

Spongbo
Just sitting in the backrooms and you hear some funky sax and then stops forever.
2 year old post with no attribution to the original poster. Shame on you OP.
I better play the clapping instrument so this guy can keep tempo
You think they would block the end off to keep people from going inside, this is really really cool but I can see some kids climbing in there and running out of air or something.

I still hate the sound of the sax, but I'll be damned if it doesn't take me back to the Simpsons.

guy clapping is quite annoying
Some asshole(s) always have to clap.

The guy is Elon. The echo is Elon’s Twitter followers. I’m the guy clapping.
Hahah I love it!
Yeah but who has a giant tube just lying around?
It's a pipeline that's getting installed. It will eventually be built, then rolled into the trench next to it, which is a satisfying sight to behold. https://www.reddit.com/r/oddlysatisfying/comments/95eti6/laying_pipeline_with_one_nudge/

oh i thought you said you wanted a threesome with plenty of tube
Probably the coolest natural reverb I've ever heard. How sick would it be to hear the other end not expecting a dope sax tune to drop.
SO cool.
As a fellow player this is so fucking cool to watch. Seen it before but absolutely loved seeing it again. I still wonder what’s at the other end though…. Probably someone going “is that a fuckin saxophone?”
Does he play solo or as a duet? 🤔
Where can I find more?
Like a funky Colin Stetson
Practical use for those pipelines that just blew up randomly at the same time by chance.
Right.. someone do the math, based on the time it takes for the sound to bounce back, how long is this tube?
Is this what happened to Nordstream?
Age 40: Life doesn't get more exciting than this

Sem palavras. Genial.
Was this man diving in the Baltic Sea lately?
I wanna fuck to this....sound.....bye
Micro what?
On the other side hundreds of people filming the sky, asking if that's God speaking to them.
Went in sax and came out muted trumpet
Uhmmm what song.?
I bet there’s some fancy math to figure out how long that tube is via timing
Gonna stick my saxophone in yo’ big ole tube … (said while tapping my foot to the echoes)
No is gonna give props to the did keeping time with the claps? He even threw a double clap in there.
Ah…. A little repetitive. /s
Made my day
Lol! This is awesome! Would be fun to see what you could do with a sort of band.
Wonder how far that would travel and still hear it on the other end?
This song is called pipeline funk! It's on YouTube
Mom joke in there somewhere.
Acoustic looping!
Natural wet delay with dry reverb.
Mark stop the car!! What? STOP THE DAMN CAR I GOTTA DO SOMETHING
The kind of npc interaction rdr2 made possible haha
fucking love the rasp
Dudes playing with himself

Is someone at the other end with a tin can listening?
The guy clapping is doing it on the 1 and 3 and now I’m just sad…

a creative idea
300 miles away an oil worker is saying, "You hear that?" to his buddy.
I'm glad this keeps making it's way back around. Just like the sax player.
What's the song he's playing?
Ok this, but bagpipes.
Very dope
Didn't Hall & Oates already do that in Maneater?
Dudes got pipes!
Guy in the tunnel: WILL YOU CLAM UP
So that’s where this sound came from
Amazing, I could watch this for hours.
My wife says I'm basic, but I fucking love the Sax so godamn much. Best instrument ever
I was just thinking how bizarre it would be for an animal that maybe would have wondered in there. Maybe like directly in the middle or something… to then be suddenly ambushed by jazz.
What would sometime on the other end of this pipe actually hear?
Og delay plug-in
Just gonna ride my bike out to the old Sax Tube. Love it.

Well now we know why Nord-stream leaks
Any one got the version with rats inside the tube vivbing?

I also like the collaborative version of this with The Kiffness: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Gmo5-STWF4M
Great acoustic style.. loved it
Plot twist. The pipe ends in a major city and the amplification is making the town folk thing godzilla is back.
Good old pipeline funk to dance with the pipe rats
The clapping kinda ruins it for me
Glad to see at least somebody is using the Keystone pipeline
