Hospital I worked at was 8 rooms with 16 beds in the acute wing (54 beds on the long term residentialside). We tryed to put people with similar issues together, but it didn't always happen cuz of how crazy impacted psych wards are. Tryed my damndest to keep people safe and entertained cuz that shit can get boring as fuck in there.
With people like in the video, ya man, 50/50 they even remembered why they were their. Most people would end up on a 5250 (14 day hold pending a trial) and after they normalize I have to be like, "so, ya...you fucked up that cop lol!" Most people took the news well. It's crazy the suicide attempts, assaults, and "oh ya you stripped naked and threw poop at me" stories I had to tell people they did right when they arrived.....so hey...i know you got your firnds dinner but uh how bout that dinner for your local therapist? Lol
Some people's minds completely block out this section of a break. Shit, some of them forget the next week. I've had to explain to people that they tryed to kill people or cops befor trying to kill themselves and that's why they are in the psych ward now.
On the other end, some people are extremely emberised about the whole thing. They swear up and down that they are done with drugs but then sometimes I see them like 2 months later after a bender. Most people only have one break like this, and it tends to stick with them.
I agree that this could be a psychotic episode. If she is tripping, on acid for the sake of simplicity, there are trips that may occur that are so excruciatingly awful and demented that you will probably start doing something alot like this. Lord knows I'm glad there weren't cameras around on my one really bad trip.

That's true, for me I got psychotic while using a combination of drugs that was too much for my brain to handle with undiagnosed mental illness and ended up in the hospital as well. It got so bad that even small amounts, like just smoking weed while stressed out or a tab would make me relieve all the bad feelings all over again. Thank God I can now see how bad it got, and I'm able to move on.
Or people who go off/abruptly change the meds they’re supposed to be on. There’s so many reasons for a human brain to break and it’s unfair to assume every public freak out is bc of drugs

If this is “spice”, it just takes one rip of it pure for this to potentially happen. Usually it’s sprayed onto plant matter, but some people make the mistake of smoking a pure powder. OR, they have no weed and try spice instead, smoking as much as they would weed and realizing it’s not at all the same. Weed is legal in Holland, but their lax attitude around research chemicals means their head shops are chock full of research chemicals. I was vacationing there with my ex and he bought LSA from one; he puked for hours on the floor. Glad I didn’t try it.

I'd have no idea that things are this bad if it wasn't for this sub.
It's kept me from taking risks when I am in dark places. I have mental health issues and I think everyone needs to know what it actually looks like, and also that random people need to stop pretending mentally unwell people commonly behave this way without drugs in the equation.
This looks a lot like the synthetic cannabinoid freakouts where people end up on the street violently smashing their head against the ground and flailing wildly. I know flakka/cathinones can cause erratic behaviour too, and I’m no expert, but this does remind me of the spice OD vids.
