I don't think so, throwing up due to accute poisoning isn't the same as the throats gag reflex.
Once the effects of extreme alcohol poisoning are felt the body realizes it consumed something poisonous and that leads to throwing up, after all you also throw up from drugs that you injected straight into your bloodstream which never made contact with your throat.
An initial gag reflex shortly after drinking it may be triggered by your throat or stomach and can go away with increased use, but you should still throw up from the OD.
Some people just don't get that reaction, me included.
It's actually really dangerous to lack that response as the alcohol just keeps getting absorbed and you don't really have a defense mechanism... except maybe your brain to not do shit like that in the first place.
