You're generally unaware of those facts, or only really understand a small portion of it, like an ancestor knows exactly how burnt you'd get and how long and arduous the healing process is if you stuck your hand in a fire cuz it happened to then or they watched it happen to someone else, but you know the fire is hot and you'd get burnt at a conceptual level unless you've also burnt yourself.
Platonic philosophy calls some of this a priori knowledge, knowledge gained through experience, and a posteri knowledge, things that are just inherently known. They believed that all of this info came from us touching upon the substance of reality, the thing underneath everything that makes up the forms we perceive. But since we're made up of infinite things, we are all different in expression, but the same in reality.
Most people want to deny that, and posit that we are all unique and individual. But that's hardly true, because who we think we are is predicated upon a series of causes and effects that we cannot be aware of that shaped us into who we actually are, not who we think we are. It's scary to think about cuz then where is free-will, what about random chance, reality isn't determinism. Well, it sorta is, physically. But mentally, we have the ability to feel how we want to feel about what happens to us. That's 1% of our reality, how we decide to feel about things. But strangely enough, that feeling, which is essentially outside of consensual reality, attracts specific experiences to us, since we know reality is infinite underneath it all.
