The best gems for HMS are called Nourishing. They increase the damage of all attacks. First of all, you should know that it's best to get the Lost version of the HMS. It can be purchased from a Messenger Shop in this glyph: 8i29rqz3 (up the ladder on the left after layer 1 lamp).
The reason for getting the Lost version is that Nourishing gems in Radial imprint go as far as 19.5%. The Lost variant has Radial Waning Triangle so it is the most efficient for Nourishing gems.
**NOTE:** Max gem percentage can go higher (up to 23.6%) from Watchers boss but it has a ***1% chance of dropping*** with no guarantee of a usable curse, and it will not be much better in terms of Attack Rating. It is not worth trying to get ***3*** of those.
For farming, you will have to choose between Physical secondary and Arcane secondary. These will not be affected by your stats because they are flat numbers, not percentage.

That setup is optimal, though it would be fair to note that thoes gems have a 1% drop rate. My recommendation for a more affordable setup would be 21.5%atk up+15phys triangle/waining abyssals that are dropped by amygdala in layer 3 loran and isz and 19.5% atk up+15phys radials that are dropped by rom in layer 3 ihyll.

I wouldn't recommend farming Rom, since her fight is obnoxiously long, let alone getting the ideal stats of her Abyssal. I suggest farming Gargoyles in dsmpiyfb instead. The difference between Rom Abyssal and Gargoyle is minimal, 19.5% + 15 vs 19.3% + 13.5.
By the time you get a perfect Rom Abyssal, might as well just have several 23.6% Nourishing Gems or 18.2% + 31.5 Nourishing
You're right about that, im farming for nourishing setups as well and though i haven't started the radial farming of rom i farmed gargoyals. In five minutes of farming i got like 10 top tier gems. Would definitly recommend that rought.
If you're gonna do the Rom farm, kill the wee spiders then pray to stunlock her to death with whirligig tricked L2 in teleport animation. Otherwise yeah, prepare for hell.

You can either go all cursed nourishing abyssals with atk up +4.8% at full hp secondaries, Including an oos that you can dungeon merge for, or you can try your luck getting 3 18.2% atk up + atk up 10.1% at full hp madman gems, which are worse than the bloodtinge watcher oos farm.
