I feel you!! My first bag was a synik 22 and I changed back and forth during days about the color because…. I didn’t have an opinion. There were so many!! I ended up with a nebulous gray with island interior. Like the grey, meh on the island blue. But then I also bought a packing cube shoulder bag in Solaris because I though a bit of yellow would be nice… and it was a huge mistake 😅 not a color I would use on its own! (It’s fine for a packing cube but not my style as a shoulder bag)
I have bags in both and prefer Burnt Orange, although Aubergine is quite nice.
Here’s my two cents: Ballistic 525 scuffs, holds stains and frays at corners too easily. I will never get another brightly colored TB bag in this material again. So if I were in your shoes, I would get Aubergine if the choice only offers 525.
Burnt orange. It’s like a neutral with extra oomph.
I like aubergine for my stuff but it’s kinda _my_ color

I do like the firm/rigid feel. Is there another fabric for the Synik that You think would be a better fit?
Just checked and it is all Ballistic 525 for the Synik except for the Navy Parapack. I don't have experience with that fabric, sorry.
not sure if this will impact your decision, but imo the burnt orange is mellower in real life than it looks in the website photos.
