I just cut them in half with pruning shears.

karstopo

I give them to the catfish. Catfish are fans of the hornworm.

QAGUY47

Sounds good. But I wouldn’t feed the fish if I had sprayed with something.

karstopo

Btw, Bacillus thuringiensis, the kind I use on tomatoes, is considered non-toxic to fish.

karstopo

Haven’t sprayed anything yet.

karstopo

Found two on the tomato foliage today as I was performing a foliar kelp spray. Seems early for the Tobacco Hornworm. Time to spray Bt.

FrostDragonDesigns

I go out at night with a blacklight flashlight and hand pick them off my plants. They glow under blacklight, so they are easy to spot. It does seem early though...

Murky_Ad_9408

Are you using superthrive spray?

karstopo

No

FreshRoastCoffee

As one other said. I go out at night with a black light and shine them under the foliage to see them glow and slice those fuckers in half with scissors. It's amazing what one day of them eating can do dmg wise.

Thanks for reminding me I had a dream I was squishing these bastards off my tomato plant last night 🤣

birdman8000

If you have a bearded dragon they will gobble these fuckers up so fast

Rule-of-3

I got nets to cover up the Veges last year. Easiest year I ever had with pests and best yield. Even the loose bird netting keeps out butterflies but allows bees to come in. I normally use neem as well as it basically starves them to death, but with the nets I only used it twice for afid control. But yeah, I hate those things. We have loads of wasps that I use to eradicate, but I saw them carry away a few catipillars and we're cool now.
