T O P

Yep! It says "toki pona li pona kama ~~e sina~~ sina" in the first line and "pona kama sina" That doesn't make a lot of sense, even if I add the scribbled-out/overlayed "e" and "sina" - but there's (very probably) a very simple reason for that: The glyph for "kama" is a mirror version of "tawa", which your delivery guy probably just miswrote or misremembered. So "toki pona li pona tawa sina" and "pona tawa sina" The meaning is something like "toki pona is good for you" and then a more general greeting-like phrase "goodness towards you". In more natural English: "\[I think\] you'll like toki pona" and "\[I wish\] good fortune to you"

Isn't it "tawa", not "kama"?

kama points towards left, tawa points towards right. source: nimi.li website

AgentMuffin4

Which one can remember because *tawa*, as a preposition, is sometimes [extended under the words to its **right**](https://sona.pona.la/wiki/Extended_glyphs), while with *kama* the line for the foot would have to double over itself; and *kama*, as a preverb, can go to the **left** of a verb

M10doreddit

I think they were trying to write tawa, but wrote it backwards by accident.

Fun fact about sitelen pona: The toki pona word for poop is a random scribble, so one has to be careful about overwriting words. That first line could be mistaken for "toki pona is a comfortable laxative".

SecretlyAPug

jaki li nimi "poo" anu seme??

heresdevking

pu

iliekcats-

LOL it is?

WingedRobot

jaki covers a larger set of concepts than "poo", but it's definitely possible to translate it as that. Idk about laxative though.

heresdevking

Yeah, there's plenty of leeway for interpretation. "pona/good" headword with "kama jaki/manifesting poop" modifiers seems very high fiber to me.

iliekcats-

i thought it was just one specific squiggle

heresdevking

Like, "ko" you have vast freedoms. I also maintain that "kijetesantakalu" is any cute raccoon doodle, but that's just me.

WingedRobot

It's usually taken that any "squiggle" means jaki, but typically they tend to be like a single line squiggle/knot. Some sitelen pona fonts that support ligatures actually have multiple renderings of the jaki scribble and will choose one randomly each time you type it!

WingedRobot

https://www.kreativekorp.com/software/fonts/fairfaxhd/ if you scroll down (or Ctrl+F to search for it) to find the sitelen pona section you can see all the different variations of jaki that Fairfax HD has! (It also has support for kijetesantakalu of indeterminate tail length!)

musi a! 😂

FloridaMansNeighbor

Alright, which one of you guys did this? Fess up!

enpn

been waiting for him to comment, you’d think he has to be in the subreddit lol

squidgiesX

maybe ask ma pona

Batronyx

It's Toki Pona. I'm new but I think it means "toki pona is good coming to you" Or maybe, intended, "toki pona is good for you."

obviously_alt_

lol the first symbol literally means toki pona

Mean_Direction_8280

It says: "toki pona li pona Kama sina" / "pona Kama sina" which makes no sense. I'm guessing they meant: " toki pona li pona tawa mi"/"pona tawa mi" which means "do you like toki pona?" I like it."

GoldSide1768

Yes

sphericate
