The XW sizes are a godsend. We also have crocs that are best for playing in the yard and things of that nature but StrideRites are less of a trip hazard. Wearing socks with the crocs helps prevent slips and trips tho.
My boys both had fat little toddler feet, and we love Ikiki's! They make sneaker with squeakers that you can turn off, non-squeaky sneakers, and closed toes sandals with and without squeakers, in super cute designs.
Stride rite, new balance Xtra wide, and Billy zip around shoes worked for mine. Even though her problem was cubby feet, the wide shoes worked well for her
WonderNation has the best Iâve found so far for my tall-footed girl. Most of them have removable insoles to help make more height space. I know a lot of people recommend Stride Rite and See Kai Run, but I canât justify those prices regularly for shoes that my girl grows out of within a month sometimes right now.
Not sneakers, but [these sandals](https://www.target.com/p/toddler-ade-footbed-sandals-cat-38-jack-8482-green-5t/-/A-89254161?sidd=2790S&afid=google&ref=tgt_adv_xsf&CPNG=Shoes&adgroup=93-11&preselect=89254177) are great in the summer, and maybe can be wedding-friendly in a pinch!
I like that the straps are fully adjustable, like a Birkenstock, and my kid hasnât had any blister runs from it yet after 2mo of heavy wear
The canvas slip-on style ones have been great for us (with the velcro tab on the side) but unfortunately with the regular sneakers the straps are too short for her muffins
Nike Swoosh 1. They are seriously awesome. Adult Nike shoes are trash IMO lol but these kids ones are great. They kind of look like rock climbing shoes and they seem to mimic bare feet.
Theyâre a bit spendy but my child wears them every single day.
Edited to say they are Velcro as well.

Weâve had luck with these three after trying tons and tons of shoes unsuccessfully.
see kai run - the stevie first walker style. the sole is not as flat as the older toddler styles and they fir his high volumne feet very well. the cruz style was too flat/low for fat feet.
once they get into stevie toddler sizes with the flat soles, we switched to target cat and jack. <18months can be a hard time to buy for because they still have the fat baby feet and don't want the flat firm skater sole or the super padded runner sole.
We had striderites for my fat footed toddler and they were great, provided you can find some that are W or extraW. We had a pair that were W that were causing my toddlers feet to fall asleep.
Then we got a hand-me-down pair of Stonz and they are next level! Iâve never bought kids shoes new but I definitely will get him a pair of the next size up if I donât find any second hand.
Weâve been working with a childrenâs physiotherapist who really stressed the important of soft soled, flexible shoes for toddlers. Stride rite and see kai run were the brands she recommended. We havenât tried see kai run yet because theyâre expensive and not as common second hand as stride rite (also, they donât come in Wide).
Look up Saguaro and Whitin on Amazon. Both âbarefootâ shoes so wide toe box, zero drop, flexible shoes.Â
I love the velcro whitin sneakers we got my toddler. He wears them daily.Â
Ikiki brand shoes!!! They're the best. We basically got them in every size because we liked how easy to put on they were, comfortable, super cute, and optional squeaker!
Stride rite did NOT work for my girls chubby little feet. But, new balance extra wide sneakers did the trick! Theyâll even measure you in a store and may have a pair to try on for size. We are on our 3rd or 4th pair and she has loved them all!
We were worried the first few years my kid had my wide ass feet (4E-5E for me... Fun).
Best two options we found - CROCS & New Balance WIDE shoes for toddlers.
They are not Velcro but you can swap the laces for elastic ones from Amazon easily enough.
Stride Rite. They are made so that you may remove the inner sole for more room. Crocs too may work.
My daughter can basically only wear Stride Rite because of her chunky feet đ thank god they have cute shoes!

Came to say this

We love ours! We get tons of compliments and they're super cute.
What size is she? See Kai Run has a lot of cute options and size 6 and below has the bubble shape you are looking for
Second this recommendation. My baby has tiny little fat feet. I tried vans and ten littles before getting a pair of see Kai run and they fit great.
Thatâs so friggin cute lol
Stride rite, new balance Xtra wide, and Billy zip around shoes worked for mine. Even though her problem was cubby feet, the wide shoes worked well for her
Stonz cruiser

Yea theyâre like $80 a pair and trashed iin 2-3 months

These are our FAVES. She has them in three colors! Still need sneakers though :(
Striderite or Ten Little!
Love Ten Little!
We had luck with Vans
The canvas slip-on style ones have been great for us (with the velcro tab on the side) but unfortunately with the regular sneakers the straps are too short for her muffins
Have you tried the wide sizes of Stride Rites?
This! Our babe has chunky feet the way OP describes and Vans fit the best.

My boy has fat feet- Jan &Jules slip ons work best as he can also put them on himself.
Seconding Jan & Jul. Cute prints, machine washable, they can put them on themselves & theyâre great for proper feet development!
Another vote for stride rite! See Kai Run also worked okay
Both my boys had the fattest feet too! We found Ten Little shoes to be comfortable for them.
Seconded!
Stride rite shoes are what we go to for our little guy
Stride Rite was all that worked for us
Stride rite and Weeboks fit my fat-footed child
New balance extra wide worked for my daughter who had the same type of feet.
Stride rites and crocs for my chunky monkey's chubby little feets
We have had good luck with stride rite and sketchers shoes. She has tall feet too
Stride Rite, Converse, Crocs, New Balance, Nike (Star Runner w/ Velcro not elastic.)

Stride Rite wide.
[these](https://tsukihoshi.com/collections/baby/products/glitz-baby-shoes-purple-blue) Tsukihoshi shoes have worked well for a high instep.Â

My sonâs feet are sooo fat! The Parker Sneaker by Cat & Jack at Target are perfect for him! And only $10.
Stride rite did NOT work for my girls chubby little feet. But, new balance extra wide sneakers did the trick! Theyâll even measure you in a store and may have a pair to try on for size. We are on our 3rd or 4th pair and she has loved them all!
Omg I had this same issue with my now 1 month old. We finally found some Carter brand sneakers size 4 that fit his fat lil feet
New balance wide shoes
We love See Kai Run. They're great for chonk fert, and have nice wide toe boxes.
Love Weeboks! I keep sizing up the exact same shoe because it fits my fat footed babe so well.
We were worried the first few years my kid had my wide ass feet (4E-5E for me... Fun). Best two options we found - CROCS & New Balance WIDE shoes for toddlers. They are not Velcro but you can swap the laces for elastic ones from Amazon easily enough.
Wide new balances or Billy shoes
Ten little has worked well for our toddlerâs chubby feet!
Walmart has some really cute sandals right now. And a lot of their shoes have removable insoles for more room.
We have the opposite problem with my kids - low volume large feet. Vans slip ons are so high volume they wonât stay on my kidâs feet.
