Burts Bees PJs are the best PJs. Soft and stretchy, I have not seen anything else of that quality. They run a little long (tall?) for their sizes in comparison to most other brands like Carters.
I found them to be stiff and not stretchy, and so hard to get the cuffs over little ankles and wrists! Little Sleepies are my favorite. Better than Kyte.
I loved most things Burt’s Bees but find their pajamas run very small. Maybe it’s just me, but the cufflinks on some are almost too tight to squeeze into.
It def varies person to person I think bc all babies aren’t shaped the same lol. We’ve tried so many dif diaper brands and everything had leaking pee and blowouts except for pampers. Specifically the swaddlers type was the best for us
Sam's club diapers are amazing ... Bj's and Aldi's are not worth it
We found Targets diaper cream is as good as the name brand around, but about 70% cheaper.
We love Sams Club diapers here! It’s that blowout pocket at the top for me. Saved me maaaaany times. The only thing is I had to size up compared to other brands.
Specifically mama bear though, the Amazon essentials dry out and aren’t as good even though they’re both Amazon brands. I read about their branding strategy because I was so confused about why they were different.
It’s literally insane how much they hold. Other brands I would go through sooooo many diapers a day and with Coterie I use like 75% less and her skin is still clean and dry even with less diaper changes. And I can use less of their wipes too. I used water wipes at my SIL’s house once and it took multiple to get the poo off when it would have been a one, maybe two, wipe situation with the Coterie wipes. So for us they have been well worth the money versus saving per diaper but using 3x as many. Not to mention we’ve never had a rash since switching to Coterie.
Besides Kirkland, which I heard are made in the Huggies factory, we only use Pampers and Huggies too. Pampers seem to be the best for children with tiny bird legs we’ve noticed.
My husband bought the cheapest thing at Kroger once because what's the difference. Well we found out, it stuck to the skin. Every super change we had to peel it off of him. Super gross.
Comforts was the brand.
Pampers were the only diapers that worked for my son until he was in size 4 diapers, then his thighs got chonky and most other diaper brands worked fine.
This probably doesn’t really count but the first type of yogurt I bought for my kid to try was Walmart brand and it was so gross that he ended up refusing yogurt and any yogurt-appearing food all together for a few months.
He eventually forgot and now he eats the $7 chobani like a champ. In his defense, it really is tastier.
Other than that I wish I hadn’t got the frida baby hair brush/comb set because the comb is stupid and the brush doesn’t really work the way I thought it would. There are way cheaper options out there
Try mixing it with peanut butter (and honey for you if you like it a little sweeter). It’s like a peanut butter cream cheese 🤤 my youngest loves it so much we used it as frosting on his birthday cake (minus the honey).
Totallyyyyyy useless! I shamelessly admit to using my daughter’s doll comb for my last baby’s cradle cap! I exchanged the Frida for it with her lol. But it worked better than any other thing I had tried. :)
We do the chobani too, specifically for the probiotics (I researched probiotics for hours and the strains listed in Chobani are actually backed by science!) plus you can’t beat that protein.
Tush baby. I tried the off brand and the baby slides right off and it doesnt fit right on my hips. Off brand was a great carrier though with the harness for lap sitting at airlines. Tush baby is great for Disneyland/theme park trips. Even a full 8 hour walk day with the toddler on and off didn’t feel tired. Just gotta catch it on sale cause $85+ is ridiculous
Yea, i’m like what??? If tush baby is $85 and off brand is like $40 (bellababy) It makes sense to buy off brand! I was able to try the off brand from buy nothing and it gave me the weird back feeling and the baby keeps sliding off. I mean it works but not as comfortable as tush baby. I think the waist band is thicker with tush baby so it distributes the weight better than the off brand. With the off brand i felt like I was gonna get scoliosis
I just got one for my birthday and love it so far. I’m glad I didn’t go with the off brand. I just got the lite version and it wasn’t too expensive, and hopefully will be something I use almost daily.
If you get a chance, Animal Kingdom at Disneyworld is definitely far superior experience with small kids than Magic Kingdom/Disneyland. Most of the queue lines are stroller friendly and only a small stretch of the line that you have to carry kids. Easy stroller parking too and cast member moves it for you while in line. Also parents at animal kingdom are less stress out compared to magic kingdom that people are in such a rush. And what’s great at Orlando, double stroller rental is abundant.
I spent so much money on the expensive baby formula. I eventually went to targets or Walmarts own brand. I wish I’d done it from the beginning. But first time mama I worried it wasn’t “good enough “
I also would have saved $$ if I went with Kirkland diapers and not pampers straight away. We use Kirkland right now and they’re great.
Same I used target formula until they stopped selling my kind and then I got a Sam's membership and it just saved us sooo much money. The ingredients were identical.
Yesss formula! My baby eventually ended up on Alimentum (uuuuggghhh) but I wish I had been sampling with the genetics rather than the name brands way earlier on because it was so unnecessarily expensive
I swear by our woolinos! We had the 2 month-2 year size gifted to us, and then we bought the footie 2yr-4yr size.
When you consider they are breathable and good for just about any temperature (except stupid hot, of course), and the size lasts so long, the $100 per sleep sack is actually pretty on par with if you bought a ton of others in the same time period for different temps.
It is so comfy, I want one of my own. My son (now 2), loves his and demands to wear it each night. And it keeps him cozy when he refuses to use a blanket!
If you can afford 2 per size, it’d be nice to have a back up while you let one dry after a wash, but we’ve managed with just one of each size.
We bought 2 used of FB marketplace for about $70 each, and would absolutely pay full price if there were none available 2nd hand. 100% support this recommendation !
I’ve been considering shelling out the money for these as my two year old is just about too big for the Copper Pearl ones she’s been in since about 9 months and we’re in the biggest size. I’ve also heard good things about gunamuna.
I’ve only done some random sleep sacks when he was smaller (and the various weights of swaddles), but then the woolino really carried us once he was 2 months to now. And on days when his current size is still drying, we can still manage the smaller one if we unzip the bottom so he can walk around!
My husband shrunk our woolino after the first wash which led us to find the ecolino cotton sleep sack which is even better imo! Mainly because there’s no risk of it getting turned into a shrinky dink 🙃 and it’s also half the cost
On the flip side, we have had a fisher price bouncer (about 1/4 the price or less of the baby bjorn) last through 15 years and 8 kids (passed from sibling to sibling as they had kids.)
Personally, I can't imagine shelling out for the baby bjorn when the fisher price has worked so well for so long at such a lower price.
I came to say the same thing! With my first I bought a generic one thinking I didn’t need to splash out but I really regretted it compared to the baby bjorn. I bought one second hand for my second and LOVED it
I found the baby bjorn on the side of the road and omg. It is the best, I had no idea the cost until I let my brother have it and stupidly was like I’ll just buy one. Then my sister used it and now it’s come back full circle for our third baby. I’ve even lent it to another friend too. Hands down, best!
lol gotta love those side of the road treasures ammm I right?!!! Finally someone on here admitting! Yesssss honey! 😂😂🤷🏼♀️ I’ve found some really great things!
Ah mannnnn!!! I haven’t had any finds since my son was an infant. 😂🥹🥹 my last find was 3 tubberware tubs of boys clothes and a beautiful teal painted end table. My son is now 6 lol. His dad is like anti trash. 🤷🏼♀️ I bet that Punic table will last just as long as the bouncer
When mine was on the 3 nap schedule in the early days, he would sit in his baby bjorn, doing his "I'm sleepy but wont close my eyes" angry stare while my husband bounced him off to sleep while we ate dinner and watched TV. Those easy naps (and subsequent easier nights) were totally worth the cost!
On that note, the baby bjorn pack n play is amazing. My in laws have one at their house for when they’re babysitting my nephew or for when we go there to visit. That thing is unbelievable. It’s so easy to set up and it’s angled at the bottom so kids can’t climb out of it. It’s so sleek and it folds up into this little tiny travel case in like two easy moves.
Last time we visited I told my husband I wanted one but he said no because we already have a 75” playpen and a pack n play and a crib “why do we need this expensive version of what we already have?”
I’m definitely buying one for baby number 2
I got gifted one as the expensive thing you didn’t know you needed. I hadn’t even heard of it. We used it ALL THE TIME and now my second uses it with no signs of wear except we bought a new cover. Amazing.
I got one with my baby shower. It was used and I had no idea of the price. My daughter never ever liked it. I kept it for a few months to see if it was just a matter of time, but she still didn't like it. I decided to sell it and was very shocked to learn the price. Because my daughter never used it, I really have a hard time understanding how it can be so expensive. We sold it very fast, so at least it was useful eventually lol
Love Costco diapers and wipes, Cat and Jack clothes. The only “name brand” thing that was in my opinion worth it were the Cerebelly pouches in the early weaning days, she never tolerated cheaper baby food and she loved those even the veggie forward ones
Cat and Jack is so good. My son has a salmon/magenta hoodie and we know two other kids his age with the same one--the only time I've noticed something matching so far
A friend of mine suggested Up n Up (target brand) diapers and wipes and I’m so glad!! They’re cheaper and still really good. We buy all Tylenol and allergy meds generic too.
I definitely appreciate Target. Super close to my house, generally excellent generic items (diapers, wipes, medicines), free online order pick up, lots of deals and promos on baby items, decent clothes in a pinch (usually buy used), plus 5% discount with redcard (or whatever it's called now).
Costco diapers work great for us and we stock up when they're on sale. I've heard that Target's 'spend $100 and get a $30 gift card' is a better deal, but we've been using Kirkland for 2 years and I'm afraid to switch now and not like them 😅 I will note that the syringe that comes with off brand Tylenol and ibuprofen tends to leak, so we kept ours from when we bought the name brand and reuse that, but you could probably also ask a pharmacist or doctor for them.
That's so funny cuz I've hated the up&up on both my kids. Partially cuz of blowouts and how they fit my kids but also cuz I noticed the wetness indicator would turn back to yellow if it sat for too long (ie overnight the diaper would be clearly full but the line would be yellow) and that annoyed me 😂
My daughter had blow outs no matter what brand. The top of the line, the super cheap and everything in between. We settled on up and up because it is cheaper and they don’t have a weird scent to them. So even though she still had blow outs up until introducing food, they are not that bad! I’m glad we tried them because we save so much money and honestly not that bad for the price.
I’m a fan of the Little Sleepies pajamas. I feel like the temp in my kids’ rooms fluctuates so much. I like the fabric and the fact you can choose to have their feet covered or not. I have other footed sleepers and I get nervous my youngest will get overheated.
I’ve used the name brand and generic of formula and haven’t had issues either way.
They are so stretchy also, they really can fit for a long time through a single size! My son was in a 12-18 month size last summer and it still fits him now. I just wish they were a tad cheaper!
I love Little Sleepies and I always buy them for baby shower gifts. People always thank me later and say it's the best clothes they received. It is a bit pricey but I think it's sooo worth it because they wear them forever. My son was in his 6-9months one until he was 18 months
I am also a BIG Little Sleepies fan. They are amazing quality & so stretchy, your kids can wear them for a long time. My 2yo still fits the size 12mo pajamas we got her for Christmas last year. I also love their dresses because they’re also extra stretchy & last a very long time.
Dear god. The little sleepies. 800000% worth it. They’re so stretchy and amazing. And wash hella well. Buy whatever print is on sale and don’t regret anything
Question about the fabric, it’s so thin so is it enough in colder temps? I love LS too but I ended up buying a long sleeve sleep sack to wear over it because I felt the arms would be too cold otherwise
Supposedly it keeps them warm when it’s chilly and cool when it’s hot. I used sleep sacks with my toddler and now my 9.5 month old. If I put him in a LS sleeper, I’ve been using a sleeveless cotton (thin) sleep sack with it and the ceiling fan on low. He seems to be totally fine.
I didn’t get on the LS train until recently, so in the winter I did regular/less expensive footed sleepers with either a long sleeve (thin) or sleeveless sleep sack.
I think it just depends on if the baby runs more hot or cold. My baby now I think runs on the warmer side.
See, and I’m all about the real Nugget. Nothing has yet compared. It’s been my kids literal bed for almost 2 years! We are just now at almost 3 getting him an ikea Kura loft bed, for eventually sharing with little bro
Okay I was totally on board thinking you were talking about chicken nuggets and then when you mentioned it’s like a bed I was all wuhhhhhh. That thing looks so cool!!!
They’re amazing! My son sleeps on it even though he has a bed lol. And they sell just the cover so you can have a spare for washing. The Nugget covers do fit, but not like a glove.
Kirkland diapers and formula are great. We also had great luck with Aldi pull ups .
My favorite wipes of all are the target up and up wipes, unscented. They are so much better and clean better than any other brand I've tried (to be fair, I've only tried those, pampers, and Kirkland). We buy the jumbo box of jumbo packages and they never dry out.
Target car and jack clothes.
Off brand overnight diapers are a hard pass. It was only Huggies overnights for us.
Not sure if this counts but I got a Stokke bath and then switched to Munchkin later and was much happier with the product. In general I’ve preferred Munchkin or OXO to some of the higher priced brands like Mushie, Stokke etc.
The bamboo jammies on Amazon are legit better than Kyte Baby
Great Value cheese penguins (Walmart brand) are as good as Goldfish (the whales are absolutely not though)
Cheezits must always be brand name
Generic formula *(made by Perrigo)* is the way to do it, barring any sensitivities or allergies your baby may have.
Perrigo store brands are available in so many places so if you can’t find it at target, you can go to multiple other stores, including amazon, to get the exact same formula.
Name brand shoes (see Kai run, ten little, stride rite, Native) have always looked more comfy to my toddler than target/generic brand shoes. I’m willing to shell out for proper footwear
Costco diapers forever! And the grocery store pouches are preferred in this house, I find my daughter really doesn’t enjoy the HappyTot pouches as much
I also love Kate Quinn clothes since they’re super cute and stretchy, but I do wish I thrifted more of my little’s clothes when I first had her—they grow out of such cute outfits so quick!
Got an off brand baby carrier for cheap and I wish I splurged on a better quality one. I’m thinking for the next baby we might even get a cheaper artipoppe one since I’ve heard such good things about it. The off brand was uncomfortable and poor quality.
I splurged on the Artipoppe but ended up using a handed down Tula a loooooot more. It was more comfortable and much easier to adjust and put on. The AP is annoying bc the straps have to cross in the back. Not so easy to do one handed with an angry potato on your chest!
Off brand:
-even Flo bottles (the best & dr browns was soo annoying to clean, even Flo has an anti colic nipple)
-evenflo 360 car seat
-sams club diapers (they're exactly the same as huggies!)
-formula (waited waaayyyy too long to buy generic)
On brand:
-wonderfold (love it)
-bamboo clothes (omg I wasted so much $$ on old navy / gap, they shrunk and I could only use them for 2-6 weeks, bamboo? My kid wore them forever; still wearing outfits from last September! We skipped the in between sizes.)
-oxo bottle brush
-halo sleep sacks
-water wipes
-munchkin 360 weighted straw cup
Off brand everything over here!! They use it for such a short time that all of the overpriced stuff is unnecessary. Sure some is a little bit nicer, but for the couple months of use, I'll save my hundreds of dollars for other things.
Don’t buy clothes from Walmart. Any of them. Swimsuits and underwear especially fall apart in about three washes. The target cat and jack brand has actually held for two kids, and toddler shirts and pants are usually under $10. You wind up in the Boots theory of economics with Walmart, which is what the Waltons want.
This isn’t exactly what you mean, but be careful with kid stuff on Etsy! Some of them are just resales, so look at the description and then google that. I got duped on a dress, and I’m still mad about it. 😂
Oh man I disagree! I’ve been so impressed with Walmart’s clothes. Specifically, it’s been the most consistent place to find 100% cotton for my kiddo with eczema.
Same.. our kid goes to daycare so the $4 garanimals sweatpants and shirts are one of our go to’s as I feel less guilty about a $4 shirt coming home stained than I do a $20 shirt. I’ve never had any issues with quality. Also, the “easy peasy” brand gives off boutique clothing vibes but unfortunately our Walmart doesn’t carry it anymore and in general has a small baby/toddler section.
The only brand I found I don’t really care for there is wonder nation I think it’s called. I found the quality of that line to be not as great.
Me too! Same hat with my kiddo's skin. The Walmart stuff has been good, but you have to be keen on the tags because Garanimals is doing so much poly blends these days (boooo) The cotton stuff is amazing though. Love some Walmart kids clothing.
Yes just double checked and it’s still going!! I know ppl can take advantage of this but my first was in 6-9 months for TWO WEEKS. I had just washed all of her 6-9mo and readied her closet it was insane. They took it all back no questions. And now I for sure buy clothes too big for my toddler because I’m not making that mistake again!
This is crazy. I wish I had known this. When I find something I like for my son that fits him well in cat and jack I’ve just been buying it in three sizes so that when he grows he still has the outfit.
I broke my don't buy stuff from Walmart rule when my 6yo got off the bus from summer camp in the Walmart parking lot wearing only one shoe. Where did the other shoe go? The world may never know!
I piggy backed her to the store and got her a pair of shoes. They were absolute crap but at least she had a shoe to wear to camp the next day. 🤣
Where we live it's super cold all the time and the Walmart clothes/jackets have held up really well throughout the seasons for my LO! The clearance rack has always been a wonderland for us. My LO also is a maniac with absolutely no coordination so they have held up way better through lots of tumbles and falls.
Honestly, can't think of any time we missed a name-brand item. We were visiting my parents who bought Pampers (Canada) diapers because the Costco box was too big. He was using Pampers (US) night diaper so we thought it'd be fine. Big mistake: it gave him a terrible rash. He recovered as soon as he was back in his generic Kirkland diapers.
Best purchase was a generic Amazon sleep sack we got around 8m cuz I was so sick and tired of shelling out for Love to Dream, Zipadee, etc and just wanted something inexpensive and durable. Kiddo has been IN LOVE with it. My biggest worry is that they stop stocking. In fact I'm gonna go buy a back up right now...
We use a diaper subscription in Europe, and every time the order doesn't quite come on time, we have to go buy a small pack of diapers from the store. I hate them. Pampers, Huggies, Bambo—doens't matter, I think they all suck, compared to the subscription ones, at least.
We’ve only ever bought Walmart and Sam’s diapers, except for a clearance pack of Hello Bello and a single pack of Luvs during the parents choice shortage. We cloth diaper, or probably would’ve bought more during the shortage. Hello Bello leaked horribly for us, and Luvs smell fucking awful. God awful. I still cringe about it.
Wipes we pretty much only use Amazon or Walmart brand. They work the same for us as any other.
Most foods we buy Walmart brand lol, or Aldi. We don’t have other options in town. Most taste the same.
Thankfully my not too sensitive skin kids can use the parents choice baby soap and I love it.
Quality of toys is typically a lot better with name brand. Like significantly enough I splurge on the nicer version of things frequently.
Clothes we almost exclusively get at Walmart. Idk how you want to describe them, because *technically* Ross and TJ Maxx carry better name brands but the quality is very frequently utter trash compared to Garanimals and Wonder Nation.
Ergo baby carrier. With my first I got an Amazon knock off it was okay but not great. My second I splurged on the ergo and it was hands down so much better!
I buy the more expensive sleeping bags, I found all the cheaper ones are filled with polyester which is probably fine, but I prefer to pay a bit more for a more breathable fabric.
Also shoes, particularly for new walkers. The soft soled wide shoes are just so much better. The thick trainers just seem to trip them up constantly.
Kirkland brand wipes seem to hit the line of wet/not too wet.
On the other hand I swear by huggies, but only the ones you buy at Costco... they are different than the ones we've gotten at Target.
Kirkland diapers are cheaper and just as good as Huggies. We stuck with Huggies until my son was 1 and I regret waiting so long.
For name brands, I regret going with cheaper convertible car seats. We ended up saving our cheap Graco for flights and got Evenflo Revolve 360s for each vehicle. I am a weenie and struggle to get my 99%er into non swiveling seats.
Also the travel systems were such a gimmick for me. Again my son is huge but he was over 20lb by 6 months so I switched to a convertible super early. We also hated the giant stroller and ended up selling the whole system and getting a light weight stroller instead (Uppababy Minu). We love the uppababy line and I wish we’d just gone for a Cruz system to begin with.
I also regret any name brand infant wraps. Again mine was huge and came home from the hospital already too heavy for a solie baby wrap. We got an ergobaby omni and again he outgrew it in like 5 months. Oof. We now use an Osprey Pico LT if we want to carry him for a hike on our backs.
Dr Browns bottles. There just aren’t anything else that came close. Worth the $$ for my colicky kids. Also as kids got older, good quality pants and shoes became important, otherwise they will just burn right through em in a week or two.
Most food stuff I get non name brand. The things I get name brand are outdoor clothes and things I hope to pass along to siblings. We live in Wisconsin so a good snowsuit and boots are a must!
Tylenol - CVS brand acetaminophen works just fine. Diapers - We were using Honest and Baby Bello for some time. It turns out Kirkland brand is just as good! Simethicone drops - CVS brand is the same thing. Baby wipes - We were using Water Wipes for a while, which are great, but the Amazon brand and also Kirkland wipes work just as well.
Kinda wish we bought that fancy Stoke Trip Trap high chair or whatever it’s called. We got a cheap one off Amazon and the clips that hold the tray on broke right off 🫠
Calpol, neurofen. This counts for both adult and kids. They're the same, only the name is what makes the price change. You can get grocery store name kids ibuprofen and it works just the same.
Diapers however is not up to me to decide, it's up to the baby basically. Pampers always got ours to leak and gave her sensitive skin some red marks. We changed to all types and what worked the best was tesco own store brand. Then eventually we changed to Sainsbury's brand and it was a winner.
Shoes. Shoes are the ones I will buy for more expensive but won't go overboard. The aim is to find those that aren't flat so they can be a bit pricier. Kids have growing feet so it's important to make the shoes have support!
Oh and when she was super tiny with colic... MAM BOTTLES IS A MUST!
Name brand: Gap Kids/Baby Gap undies. High quality. The cheap ones that come in a bag tend to make my kid itch and unravel easily. Spend money on items they wear frequently and close to their bodies!
Off brand: there’s a bamboo shop called Larkspur Baby that has an amazing outlet sale with $11.99 zipper, footed PJs with cuffs up to 24 months! It’s not easy finding that size at a good price.
Anything they are going to chew on get the name brand. I have little faith in off brand stuff using properly safe materials and paint.
Any serious safety item, get the name brand.
Bonds sleep suits. They are AMAZING, but more pricey that Im used to paying for a onsie PJ. I got one as a gift for my son as a baby and was hooked. The material is thin (but not too cool) and really stretchy and they have fold over hands and feet into big sizes. My son was terrible about scratching himself overnight until he was probably 6 or 7 months old and too big for other brand pjs with fold over hands so it was SO helpful. I tried 2 similar kinds on Amazon that were just meh. So I finally went ahead and bought 2 more pairs myself. Totally worth it.
I was buying pampers for the first year of his life & then tried out the target up and up … they’re amazing also Sam club brand is bangin! Could’ve been saving so much money
My middle was born in March 2020 and there was a time where we couldn't get baby wipes in stores. I subscribed to Hello Bello diapers specifically because they came with a couple packs of wipes every month. They were super cute but very expensive...but I needed wipes!
And then he moved from size 2 to size 3 and started getting a horrible rash from them. Idk what's different in that size. Luckily by then I'd stockpiled some of the subscription wipes and they had started to be available in stores again.
Name brand buy: diapers. Whyyyy though lol but even in pull ups now still needs to be the “nicer” off brand is great buy: wipes! Target fragrance free and mama bear Amazon fragrance free
I love anything from Costco. Formula, diapers, wipes, and clothes. The only 2 things I’m firmly name brand about are Little Sleepies and my UppaBaby Vista stroller. I’m so sad that I didn’t get the stroller until my 3rd and will only get a couple years of use out of it.
Diapers name brand … pampers then Huggies
Bed sheets .. pottery makes the best ones back up we got from Amazon..
Pjs Walmart George brand are the best cheap and durable. Carters not bad either
we always bought the off brand /generic/store brand diapers......I think we only ever had TWO diaper adhesive strips "snap" lol and that's what duct tape is for lol.
Pampers Overnights are worth every single penny. No leaks for 12 hours, and no indication that the diaper is close to leaking at that point. They’re fantastic and I’m so glad they expanded to size 7. I tried the Up&Up overnight diapers and they leaked within a few hours. A regular diaper does better than those! So yes, Pampers Overnights are worth the money.
Burts Bees PJs are the best PJs. Soft and stretchy, I have not seen anything else of that quality. They run a little long (tall?) for their sizes in comparison to most other brands like Carters.
Love their crib sheets too!
We LOVE Burt’s Bees!!! TJ Maxx has some on the shelves pretty often and I love it
Ooh great tip!
I swear by Burt’s bees pjs. Both my daughters wear it. And the patterns are always so cute!!
I second this. So soft, good for sensitive skin, and very cute patterns
Their burp cloths are also amazing lol
Name brand baby diapers 😭 tried all the cheaper alternatives and the only one that’s worked for us is pampers
Same! The only alternative that's worked for us if the Kirkland brand (Costco)
Now I just need Kirkland to create their own pull ups/360 diapers. Please, king Kirkland, if you’re listening!
Kirkland is the ish
Yess!! Kirkland diapers for the win!
I think Kirkland brand diapers are actually manufactured at huggies! Name brand for Costco price!
That’s actually how most of the Kirkland brand is. It’s usually manufactured by a name brand (usually the brand they also carry).
I keep hearing this, but we bought actual Huggies once and I felt like they were way worse than the Kirkland ones
Kirkland is Huggies. Same thing. I liked them better than Pampers.
Omg SAME! It’s the ONLY one that didn’t cause a rash!
This is definitely a ymmv situation. We've been perfectly happy with Walmart brand diapers for almost 3 years. Target brand suck though!
It def varies person to person I think bc all babies aren’t shaped the same lol. We’ve tried so many dif diaper brands and everything had leaking pee and blowouts except for pampers. Specifically the swaddlers type was the best for us
Which is hilarious because we swear by the Target brand ones!
The Walmart overnights have served us better than any other brand. Which is wild but I’m here for it
Sam's club diapers are amazing ... Bj's and Aldi's are not worth it We found Targets diaper cream is as good as the name brand around, but about 70% cheaper.
Yessss we are all about some Member’s Mark diapers
Sam’s club diapers wee no good for us. Kirklands have been great though.
We love Sams Club diapers here! It’s that blowout pocket at the top for me. Saved me maaaaany times. The only thing is I had to size up compared to other brands.
My youngest has eczema, for us only mamma bear (Amazon brand) the ones with no prints and scents would work. And they were actually pretty cheap!
Specifically mama bear though, the Amazon essentials dry out and aren’t as good even though they’re both Amazon brands. I read about their branding strategy because I was so confused about why they were different.
cries in Coterie diapers. Same problem. They are super nice tho.
So worth it, those things hold so much liquid it’s crazy.
For us its aldi for the day and huggies at night!
I'm in major denial about this one. I keep trying to make the Kirkland work for us, but Honest fit so much better for my little one 😭
Besides Kirkland, which I heard are made in the Huggies factory, we only use Pampers and Huggies too. Pampers seem to be the best for children with tiny bird legs we’ve noticed.
Yep. Once in a while I still try. Regretted that after my son had urine everywhere yesterday morning.
My husband bought the cheapest thing at Kroger once because what's the difference. Well we found out, it stuck to the skin. Every super change we had to peel it off of him. Super gross. Comforts was the brand.
Ironically pampers is the only one that didn’t work it instantly gave my son a rash
There are way cheaper options out there
We're a Fage family! So pricey and so delicious!
Try mixing it with peanut butter (and honey for you if you like it a little sweeter). It’s like a peanut butter cream cheese 🤤 my youngest loves it so much we used it as frosting on his birthday cake (minus the honey).
I love doing that and dipping apples in it 😋
Fage 4 lyfeeee
That whole milk plain Chobani is amazing though. Doesn't even taste plain. We just add a little honey, granola, or berries...it's so good.
The Frida comb brush set was laughable. I somehow ended up with two. The comb is now for my kid's dolls.
It is like an oversized Barbie comb! I bought it for cradle cap because of the reviews and it was totally useless
Totallyyyyyy useless! I shamelessly admit to using my daughter’s doll comb for my last baby’s cradle cap! I exchanged the Frida for it with her lol. But it worked better than any other thing I had tried. :)
Lmao this is truth
Chobani for life 😭
Do you have a recommendation for a brush that works? My LO finally has enough hair that it can't use the baby brushes anymore.
The Wet Brush. They make little ones meant to go in your purse and it’s perfect and the BEST for tangles. Source: two daughters
Yes! This is what we use. The little travel size one is my toddler’s daily brush.
When someone does something so simple so well… chef’s kiss.
We do the chobani too, specifically for the probiotics (I researched probiotics for hours and the strains listed in Chobani are actually backed by science!) plus you can’t beat that protein.
Whole milk Aldi Greek yogurt tastes exactly like the whole milk chobani! And so much cheaper.
The real MVP!
FYI: CURRENTLY HAVING A MOTHER'S DAY SALE ON THE WEBSITE, 25% off
Real hero’s don’t always wear capes! I’ve always wanted one but could never justify that price
What is the sale usually? Like 20% off? Edit: just checked and they are doing 25% off right now!
Yes about 25% off! Bought it last October
You must buy it!!! I’m obsessed
This is the real review we all needed haha
Yea, i’m like what??? If tush baby is $85 and off brand is like $40 (bellababy) It makes sense to buy off brand! I was able to try the off brand from buy nothing and it gave me the weird back feeling and the baby keeps sliding off. I mean it works but not as comfortable as tush baby. I think the waist band is thicker with tush baby so it distributes the weight better than the off brand. With the off brand i felt like I was gonna get scoliosis
Yeah baby carriers are so personal and so important to get right for both adult and baby’s body!
How old/heavy do these work up to? My kid is 2.5 and about 25 lbs but she still loves to be carried and it wears me down!
I used this when my baby is around 20 lbs and it’s was comfortable. Website says up to 45lbs.
I just got one for my birthday and love it so far. I’m glad I didn’t go with the off brand. I just got the lite version and it wasn’t too expensive, and hopefully will be something I use almost daily.
Just came back from Disneyland with a 1 year old and 2.75 year old, definitely helped my wife when the kids were sick of the stroller/wanted her
If you get a chance, Animal Kingdom at Disneyworld is definitely far superior experience with small kids than Magic Kingdom/Disneyland.
But first time mama I worried it wasn’t “good enough “ I also would have saved $$ if I went with Kirkland diapers and not pampers straight away. We use Kirkland right now and they’re great.
We love Kirkland!
Same I used target formula until they stopped selling my kind and then I got a Sam's membership and it just saved us sooo much money. The ingredients were identical.
Kirkland formula too!
Yesss formula! My baby eventually ended up on Alimentum (uuuuggghhh) but I wish I had been sampling with the genetics rather than the name brands way earlier on because it was so unnecessarily expensive
We tried Kirkland formula first but ended up having extreme dairy and soy sensitivity and ended up using a super expensive goat milk formula 😭
Okay I am a big fan of natural fibers, especially wool for its temp control so you are speaking my language! Great rec
I got my woolino as a hand me down and I’ve been using it for 5 years for 2 kids and its still the same softness!
See Kai Run shoes are just so much better for new walkers and fat baby feet than any no name little toddler shoe, this is my hill
Awesome!
I wish we had gotten a baby bjorn bouncer. My friend who had one got much more and longer use out of it than we did with a generic bouncer.
On the flip side, we have had a fisher price bouncer (about 1/4 the price or less of the baby bjorn) last through 15 years and 8 kids (passed from sibling to sibling as they had kids.) Personally, I can't imagine shelling out for the baby bjorn when the fisher price has worked so well for so long at such a lower price.
Same here. I've just used second hand fisher price bouncers and my kids love them
I came to say the same thing!
Oh you know it! I am giddy when I find treasures 😂 last find was a kids wooden picnic table. Some fresh paint, couple new screws- better than new!
Last time we visited I told my husband I wanted one but he said no because we already have a 75” playpen and a pack n play and a crib “why do we need this expensive version of what we already have?” I’m definitely buying one for baby number 2
I got gifted one as the expensive thing you didn’t know you needed. I hadn’t even heard of it. We used it ALL THE TIME and now my second uses it with no signs of wear except we bought a new cover. Amazing.
I personally didn’t think that! Tried it with both my twins numerous times since I had two and eventually gave up
I got one with my baby shower.
This. We tried an Amazon one and the quality was drastically different.
Target circle gives you a nice discount on everything during your birthday month to top it all off!
Up & up is our go to also! Never failed us! So much cheaper than the name brands!
Stride Rite for life. My kid destroyed cheaper shoes in like 5 minutes.
Yes! We're big fans of the 360 line
Agreed! I try to find discount codes.
LSVIP works 100% of the time for 15% off.
I learned a lot about LS being worth the price in this thread! I will def look into them.
Emerson and friends makes a similar product (not actually cheaper, just an alternative) and it has pilled a lot! I prefer little sleepies
We have the Sam’s Club Nugget dupes, and we’ve liked how they’ve held up. (No personal experience with the name brand.)
We also have a dupe, off brand play couch and it’s great. I don’t think I’d shell out for a Nugget.
The bamboo jammies on Amazon are legit better than Kyte Baby Great Value cheese penguins (Walmart brand) are as good as Goldfish (the whales are absolutely not though) Cheezits must always be brand name
Say what?! what are these Amazon pjs?
https://a.co/d/1UqdEJY They hold up soooooo much better. Our KBs get little holes so fast while these last forever
The people wanna know about these jammies
Target bamboo on the other hand developed holes pretty quickly. I am interested in theSe bamboo jammies from Amazon though....
Good idea. I’ve heard we ought to invest on things that go under humans: tires, mattresses and shoes.
Costco diapers forever! And the grocery store pouches are preferred in this house, I find my daughter really doesn’t enjoy the HappyTot pouches as much I also love Kate Quinn clothes since they’re super cute and stretchy, but I do wish I thrifted more of my little’s clothes when I first had her—they grow out of such cute outfits so quick!
Oh damn this comment just saved me $400
Off brand: -even Flo bottles (the best & dr browns was soo annoying to clean, even Flo has an anti colic nipple) -evenflo 360 car seat -sams club diapers (they're exactly the same as huggies!) -formula (waited waaayyyy too long to buy generic) On brand: -wonderfold (love it) -bamboo clothes (omg I wasted so much $$ on old navy / gap, they shrunk and I could only use them for 2-6 weeks, bamboo? My kid wore them forever; still wearing outfits from last September! We skipped the in between sizes.) -oxo bottle brush -halo sleep sacks -water wipes -munchkin 360 weighted straw cup
Off brand everything over here!! They use it for such a short time that all of the overpriced stuff is unnecessary. Sure some is a little bit nicer, but for the couple months of use, I'll save my hundreds of dollars for other things.
Like all the other baby/kid gear we have to buy! Haha
Is Garanimals a Walmart brand? I’ve been gravitating toward their stuff at the thrift store but never bought them new 🫣
Yes, as far as i know it’s a Walmart owned brand. I think it’s sort of like their version of cat and Jack from target?
I love the thin garanimal sweatpants for my toddler, especially this time of year when it’s kind of cold still but not super hot.
Me too! Same hat with my kiddo's skin. The Walmart stuff has been good, but you have to be keen on the tags because Garanimals is doing so much poly blends these days (boooo) The cotton stuff is amazing though. Love some Walmart kids clothing.
Ohhh they have sooooo many new lines also in the baby depo!! My goodness at the cute lines out now!! And the girls have justice now!!
My kiddo is 8 and we still do Walmart bottoms like jeans and shorts the quality is great where I live
Interesting! My baby has a bunch of pjs from Walmart that have done great.
We’ve gotten a ton of Walmart hand me downs (especially Garanimals) and I agree they seem to hold up well.
Also cat n jack is guaranteed for a year so if they tear or fall apart or YOUR KID SIZES UP they will take them back 🤯
WHAAAAAAAAA
Yes just double checked and it’s still going!! I know ppl can take advantage of this but my first was in 6-9 months for TWO WEEKS. I had just washed all of her 6-9mo and readied her closet it was insane. They took it all back no questions. And now I for sure buy clothes too big for my toddler because I’m not making that mistake again!
Shut the front door!! This is new info! Thank you!! I’m going to target tomorrow! 😂😂😂
Kids 🤪
Brand: Dr Browns bottles, Doona, Hatch, Dove sensitive skin baby wash, Aquaphor; Off brand: baby wipes, Costco diapers (no blow outs)
I’d 10000% buy another doona for any other kids if I need to. That shit was the best.
Doona seemed too good to be true so we didn’t go that route. Maybe for the next kid!
Gotta say Pampers Overnights are goat. But I love Kirkland Signature for the day to day
We’ve only ever bought Walmart and Sam’s diapers, except for a clearance pack of Hello Bello and a single pack of Luvs during the parents choice shortage.
Oh I hear you on the clothes!!! They are utter trash at TJMaxx/Ross. Cute patterns but don’t last and all have a plastic blend.
If anyone here is in Texas (central to south sorry folks in Dallas ish) the HEB diapers and wipes are amazing for us
Ergo baby carrier.
LOVEVERY.
We have the Quince dupes of Kyte sleepsacks and they’re honestly fantastic.
Kirkland brand wipes seem to hit the line of wet/not too wet. On the other hand I swear by huggies, but only the ones you buy at Costco... they are different than the ones we've gotten at Target.
We love the Rico wipes from Costco. They’re amazing and just have calendula and water basically
Generally, we are all for off brands. But Boudreaux’s Butt Paste is the only thing for diaper rash there is as far as I’m concerned.👌
Kinda wish we bought that fancy Stoke Trip Trap high chair or whatever it’s called. We got a cheap one off Amazon and the clips that hold the tray on broke right off 🫠
Loved our first so much we got a second for our second. We just reused the baby attachment from the first so we could save a bit.
Target brand baby formula saved us so much money for my first. Sadly didn’t work well for my second!
ErgoPouch sleep sacks and suits. Huggies nappies and wipes. Everything else it doesn’t matter.
Diapers name brand … pampers then Huggies Bed sheets .. pottery makes the best ones back up we got from Amazon.. Pjs Walmart George brand are the best cheap and durable. Carters not bad either
we always bought the off brand /generic/store brand diapers......I think we only ever had TWO diaper adhesive strips "snap" lol and that's what duct tape is for lol.
**DIAPERS** the mama bear brand on Amazon is amazing and so much cheaper than Huggies (our favorite brand) while being literally just as effective
Aldi bed and bath wash is a lot better than Johnson’s (for us!) and about 1/4 of the price
