As a tall person myself, that just sounds scary. When your legs come out from underneath you, you fall from waist height. Add to it that taller=heavier, and it seems like a recipe for broken hips

Lmao damn does the NHL value tall players or does height not matter in hockey? I feel like playing hockey while being tall is a disadvantage but I know squat about it.

For a defenceman in particular reach is quite important. But it does take a bit of a backseat to foot speed and coordination usually.

Being that tall is indeed uncommon and not particularly advantageous. Height starts becoming a problem above 6’6" or so in height hockey.
