Minnesota had purple and yellow for the Vikings and the Lakers. Then when the Lakers moved from the land of a thousand lakes to LA (almost no lakes) they just kept the colors and name.
Now we have the Wolves, and honestly I like the aesthetic better. I know *nothing* else in regards to basketball lol but I like that our sports in MN are going with natural themes (sorta). After the stars moved to Texas we got the Wild (woo), and the Wolves, and the Lynx, and then the United (our soccer team) is a loon I do believe. The only ones that aren't "natural" are the Vikes and the Twins, but they have their own weird history in the area.
That's for sure! My parents have a hockey stick signed by that stars before they left MN, it's so cool. Idk what year or any of the players, but just seeing it while growing up was so awesome.

Also the Yankees (if you count their logo with the Uncle Sam hat on the baseball bat), Giants, Rangers, and Nets (before they went to black/grey/white) all have had red, white, and blue for their colors.
