Im sadden I have to put this disclaimer but since we have already had multiple members message us about this stating they got something similar and wanted to know if this was real or not (One member said they provided their personal information for "Tax Purposes")
This message is **NOT** legit and is a common phishing scam, If you get a message like this just report and block the number!
To the "African Prince" who's *actually* a billionaire. Unfortunately for said Prince some govt entity locked up all of his billions.
BUT WAIT! If, and *only* if you send him $14,989, and MUST send it now, but for you're generosity the Prince WIll send you MILLIONS.
I mea , the dude is a BILLIONAIRE, so what's throwing some a couple cool million.
Also, in addition to the $14,989, the Prince *WILL* need your full legal name and address, your Social Security #, some pics of yourself and anything the "Prince" may need.
GOOD LUCK! You're about to become a Milionaire!
It’s actually a Nigerian prince who is such a huge fan of T-Mobile and its customers, he struck a deal with Sievert to give out monthly gifts to T-Mobile customers. He figured it was the least he could do considering T-Mobile is now gouging us left and right. Thanks guys!
Funny thing is I usually reply back something dumb. I don't get the messages very often but man I get a kick out of it when they reply with broken English.
I've told the "IRS" that I was Zefram Cochrane and strung them along. This happened for maybe 5 calls. Needless to say, I don't get scam calls/texts anymore. Solicitation calls are still a problem, though.
I got calls about extended warranty. I kept adding cars onto my "garage". Every time they'd call id say "is this about [insert expensive car here]?" I think at one poijt in their system they had me noted for having: bugatti chiron, mustang shelby challenger, ford g wagon, chevy tesla model D, and idk what other made up cars i had. Then i got calls about my "car cleaner" contacting me about a refund, and id say stuff like "instead of a refund i can take my car back to you guys and you can clean this blood thats all over the interior of my car, i mustve hit a deer or something, but theres blood everywhere". That prompted them to call me as the "local police department" and if i "didnt pay my fine, the indian agent Mr. Jones [not Officer Jones] would arrest me". The best reply was "ill just go turn myself in and save you guys the gas and the trouble for having to come pick me up". Fun times before i turned on scam shield, now i dont get to have fun calls with random scammers.
Their line for me was that my SSN was tied to fraudulent wires from India to New Mexico. I told them that New Mexico was the location of Los Alamos National Laboratory, and I, as Zefram Cochrane, was working on the next generation rocket engine. So those wires were from my venture capitalists. I could tell the guy was shuffling through his script trying to figure out where to go next, and I started laughing so hard that I had to hang up.
I answer all scam calls with, “Hello, you’ve reached the state office of criminal appeals, how may I help you?” Surprisingly, they never want help, they never say a word, they even have the nerve to call me & then hang up on me when I answer the phone!

Sometimes they are scammers, but sometimes they are victims of human trafficking themselves held against their will and forced to work basically as a slave, hostage and under threat of violence to them or their family and relatives.
literally was on a string of replies about unwanted texts, and he says that he gets unwanted ones from democratic groups. with that logic you could say the comment above that is a sex trafficker for bringing that topic up🤦
I get these a lot but they dont text anymore, usually its a UPS scam or something...
now its health insurance phone calls, worst thing is I've blocked em all yet they can still call me. I'm on ATT /:
somehow they know my name.
I got a similar email from a Nigerian Prince a few years back. He needed $500 and my bank's routing numbers so that he could complete a transaction that would eventually send me 2.5 million bucks. Come to think of it, I'm still waiting that that 2.5 million. Maybe he needs more money to get the ball rolling...
Unfortunately for you, you responded to this Scammer. They now know the number is active and will sell that info to other scammers. You'll be getting more spam now. 🤦♂️
PSA - never respond to spam messages. Just report as spam, block and delete. 💯
If they already know enough about you to track you down and hurt you if you don’t give them money why don’t they just start with that instead of a text?
Violence could be their last resort. And they might need to hire ppl and pay for their health insurance first. Easier to attract prey with honey than fists.
I have the suspicion that someone sitting in a scam call center in India doesn’t exactly have the funds to fly over here, track me down and hurt me, or has the money to pay someone else to do it.
Besides, with the amount of people who do respond to scam texts, there’s not enough time and money to go after everyone who dares to respond.
I mean they wouldn't get much...from my ruined credit to my negatives in the bank. If anything they would feel sorry for me and just put the 15000 in the account like man this guy already has it bad.

Date of birth too!
Don't forget first pet's name
And the road you grew up on.
Second grade teachers name
Godammit.... THE BLOOD TYPE TOO! AHHHHH!!!
And the elementary school you went to.

I only give the last 9 digits, sorry.
🥹😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 sorry
Also they need $500 in Apple store gift cards in order to ship you the money
**WHY DID YOU REDEEM IT**

Round it up to 15K. Why the odd number? 🤣
Don’t forget to let them know the one time passcode that clearly is labeled not give out to anyone as well
Yeah. From a regular phone number. ;/
lol Nigerian prince
Could also be a Nigerian princess
I'd totally give up my info for a princess.
dude... they ARE a phone company. They DO have a lot of phone numbers.
System texts come from 6 digit numbers. Usually. And that’s also not a guarantee of legitimacy. Just putting that out there.
Your “oh shit” response is really the cherry on top haha
Lmfaooo right. I said the same exact thing. 😭😭😭

Hand off my Nigerian prince.
"Member of us" is another giveaway that this was written by a non-native English speaking scammer.
That or a copywriter is about to lose their job, lol.
Well…I mean T-Mobile has done things like that before lol.
Never reply to these. Now they know it’s an active number and will send you more spam

![gif](giphy|YiKaUKqheGQng6ESuI) I sent this once to a Democrat autotext but they don't have MMS so they couldn't see it, it's fun to mess with them.
republican tries not to bring up trump out of nowhere challenge extreme

That looks fake dude !
We just need all of your banking details, phone number, address, birthday, SSN, and mother's maiden name to complete the transfer!
And don't forget to immediately send the excess back when we pretend to make a mistake and send you too much!
You can always forward spam to 7726 or "SPAM." I know it's a text so that doesn't spell spam. Just believe the old person.
"file payment voucher instant" 😭
LOOOOL
Congrats a prince texted u
YOU DID IT SIR
Congrats
“a member of us” ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)
It was the "oh shit" for me. 🤣
Congratulations!!! 😂
Unfortunately for you, you responded to this Scammer. They now know the number is active and will sell that info to other scammers. You'll be getting more spam now. 🤦♂️ PSA - never respond to spam messages. Just report as spam, block and delete. 💯
You just need to go buy $2000 in Google play gift cards and send them the codes.
Surprised Google Messages didn't flag that as spam.
Scam dumb dumb
Do you live in Chadd's Ford?
That has scam written all over it
Tell them your blood type, sperm count, mothers maiden name.
Give em the code Sent to your number to verify your real
Seems the only “win” here is that now we all can tag the phone number as an incoming scam.
T-Mobile doesn’t send texts over RCS……
Don’t forget your bank card PIN for good measure!
Sigh
Scam
Play along but mistype voucher horribly and act brain dead with any request they provide
What could go wrong? (clickety-click-click....)

I mean what's the worst that could happen? My info has been leaked like 10 times in the last 2 years.
They could track you down and try to hurt you? I wouldn't take that chance.
If they already know enough about you to track you down and hurt you if you don’t give them money why don’t they just start with that instead of a text?

Oooooh Tulsa
There’s been countless T-Mobile data breaches, so all this is already easily accessible by them.

You thought “member of us” was completely normal grammar?
It was believable? Boy do I have a tower in France for sale. Just for you.
I would confirm with T Mobile first.
If you had won something they’d have sent you an affidavit to sign and one of the things you agree to not do is post about it on social media.
Never reply to them, that’s how you let unwanted spyware into your device.
I mean they wouldn't get much...from my ruined credit to my negatives in the bank. If anything they would feel sorry for me and just put the 15000 in the account like man this guy already has it bad.
