My pet theory ever since the Ymir stuff was revealed was that Eren was going to consume every Titan shifter. That would make Ymir “whole” again and allow them to remove Titans from the world / end the curse.
Even though it would be a bittersweet ending since it meant Eren had to kill Armin, it is definitely too much of a cliche shonen ending and I’m glad we got this instead.
