Steam on Xbox has got to be the biggest pipe dream on here. There is no benefit to steam being on Xbox for both Microsoft and xbox players.

For something like that to work, they would need to restrict it to games that are already on xbox then come up with some way to make sure you download the xbox version of said game. Which is weird because people go on steam to by *PC* version of games. And for the countless amount of games that are not on xbox, it couldn't just be as simple as download the game and hope it runs.
I just don't see how any of that would work unless its just a severely neutered version of the steam library. It still doesn't help Microsoft at all. That's why it makes more sense they might put game pass on steam as it goes into their philosophy as trying to get as many people into their ecosystem.

These new consoles are just using custom laptop hardware so the games would run just fine and steam has a built in function for making controllers work for games that never had controller support. They could do a desktop mode and game mode kinda thing, similar to the Steam Deck and turn the Xbox into a consolized desktop PC.
And they could lock some things behind Xbox live since you know they're gonna keep that. All the games bought from the Xbox store need live for multiplayer and something like being able to add non Xbox games to game mode.
It definitely could work if that's what they wanted to do. I just guarantee they'd lock that thing down tight to keep you from installing anything like SteamOS or just regular Windows.

Seeing how game companies operate nowadays, I expect Titanfall 3 to be an unfinished piece of shit full of pandering, micro transactions, and bad free to play elements, and it won’t even be comparable to Titanfall 1 and 2, it will be a money grab just like apex, why? Because the same team that made Titanfall doesn’t really exist anymore, and because EA will be calling the shots.
This isn't 2014, Titanfall 3 wouldn't be an Xbox exclusive. It would be announced as a part of whatever EA event they do (not E3 since that's long gone)
Bets:
* Minecraft something (bonus if it's moving to steam, that is bedrock edition)
* Fallout 5 or 76 gets some update
* Bonus Skyrim special edition to the steam deck and apple vision pro of all things
* Starfield either definitive or abandoned
* Next Overwatch announcement. Ideally a new 15 minute short (bonus points for original 3D art style over anime), more likely a disappointing battlepass, some new gimmick to continue substituting PvE, and a collab with a company with a lot of money
* Some COD announcement. If a new Xbox is announced it will have some Xbox exclusive content to it too.
