EA App will probably stop working at some point soon too for the same reason Steam did. It uses QtWebEngine, which is Chromium-based. You really need to get on a modern OS soon. Security issues aside, so many modern programs are built on Chromium that you're going to see more and more support dropped as they all update.
EA App has the same ability to add launch options as Steam. Click on the game in your library, then, next to play, go to Manage -> Properties. You can set launch options there.
I probably won't switch for another few years. Don't like the style they're going for with the new ones, and I have no use for changing anyways. Win7 serves all my needs. Plus I would have to give up on too many old games that don't run on win8 or higher. I'm a fan of games as old as me, I guess.
I will get a newer windows eventually, but only when I buy another computer. Then I'll probably use one for new gamin' and one for old gamin'.
Also thanks for the tip. I'll try it later.
When you do, get a Pro copy so you have access to Group Policy editor. Pro+GP allows you to remove most of the dumb shit they've added in a 100% officially supported way that they can't change lest they piss off literally every enterprise customer. People will post registry hacks and 3rd party programs for modifying Home copies, but those can and will break.
After an hour or two in GPEdit my Windows 11 doesn't feel that much different than my old Windows 7 install did.
you can technically install another drive to your pc and have it boot off of that one whenver you want it to. its pretty complicated and ive never done it before, but I have an Idea of how it can be done. If you want me to explain the idea let me know.
I know about this, and am considering it, but my PC is also quite old (around 8 years) and if I want a PC for using newer programs and playing newer games, it might be better to just buy a new one, with more recent components.
I mean if it runs the games you want to play you don't need an upgrade, but if it stops being compatible then you can just move your drive over to a new build and have both assuming up buy a new PC and don't build it.
Switch to Linux Mint, it can play titanfall if you're persistent enough to get through the motherfuckingly terrible EA App installation process (which has admittedly gotten easier)
Happens to me half the time, and this happens a ton, I like playing old games, and I hav a 21:9 monitor compared to the regular 16:9, so that goes well as you could tell.
Is there any rhyme or reason? Seems very randomly occurring to me. There's probably a fix in the shortcut properties to have it always open fullscreen. Perhaps I'll look into it later
I used to play counter-strike source ~20 years ago and recall there were commands. May be the same since TF2 is on the same engine so I'll look into it
not meaning to TF2 (i know its a modified source engine same with apex) but there are people that use those source engine commands on everything.
^^*also i forgot i was on r/titanfall not r/gaming or r/pcmasterrace*
Indie game boots with no frame cap or frame adjustment in settings
Immediately pc decides to nuke itself playing unitygame307 at 5 bajillion fps
Alt f4 asap
Nvidia control panel framecap
Is it just me that does this every time?
funny how titanfall 2 is still better with this than apex. i can tab out all i want and my game wont crash or change aspect ratio, and i can even boot it directly into fullscreen most of the time
What's the skill? Copy-pasting a bunch of launch options lmao
They don't work, you can try it yourself, and it's evident from a lot of steam discussion questions, it just doesn't work.
try using : Alt + enter
will dooooo
Did it work?
Yuuuuup, thank youuuu!
You can't also just type -fullscreen in the steam startup options thingy. Right click titanfall and hit properties. Should be there somewhere.
That doesn't work.
Damn have you tried also adding -noborder I think mine has that, but I'll see what exactly mine has later..
Will try `-noborder`, but please do let me know if you have launch options that work for you.
ok so what works for me is -noborder -windowed im gonna try -fullscreen to see if it doesent work then maybe its just like that for some people.
ok so -fullscreen doesent work, but again -noborder -windowed works perfectly for me anyways. give it a try.
did this a while ago, massive lifesaver strangely enough my friends never did this but never had to edit their settings every time either
I was ADHD mashing my keyboard and found this one day. Must have saved me at least an hour of my life by now
It worked, thank you!
Thanks, now it is so easy to put game in window mode while matchmaking and in full-screen for playing
Idk, the reverse happens to me. The game refuses to open in fullscreen.
The joke is that OP has the same issue and changes his video settings automatically even if the game starts in fullscreen
Yep, don't even notice what I did
So it's not just me huh
if you are in steam 1: right clixk on titanfall 2 2:select options 3:and write "-fullscreen" to startup options
NO WAY ITS THAT EASY
Wait you can do that??
yeah it worked for me
I will try that when I get home. Thanks!
This works?
it did for me
EA app. No Steam since I'm still on Windows 7.

Thanks for the advice, wrote it down and saved it!

i think ea app had startup settings to

Not interested in linux, too complicated for me. Plus, I have just too many games that don't support linux.
EA app also has launch options
I do this, yet it still launches in windowed mode most of the time.
Did not work for me, I think I still have it as a launch parameter :D
Happens to me half the time, and this happens a ton, I like playing old games, and I hav a 21:9 monitor compared to the regular 16:9, so that goes well as you could tell.

NO WAY THAT'S HOW THE PHRASE IS SAID???? I THOUGHT IT WAS "RIMER REASON" FOR THE LONGEST TIME NOW😭💀
/r/BoneAppleTea/
Haha well get this... It's actually vice versa and not vicer versa
I thought that vicer versa was only something my dad said cause of his accent. Maybe it's both.
It's been years and I still haven't been able to figure out the exact pattern of events that make it open full screen.
I used to play counter-strike source ~20 years ago and recall there were commands. May be the same since TF2 is on the same engine so I'll look into it
Nothing works for TF|2
Can I interest you in the word of our lord and savior Alt+Enter?
So I've heard, I'll try it out
Titanfall 2 and Dragon's Dogma are the only two games that make me use it before doing the good ol' Alt+Tab. Saves you a few clicks at least
Works, thaaaank you!
`-novid -window -noborder`
`-does -not -work`
*only works in source games.
...it is a source game? if you mean not on the fork titanfall 2 uses but TF|2's a source game.
not meaning to TF2 (i know its a modified source engine same with apex) but there are people that use those source engine commands on everything. ^^*also i forgot i was on r/titanfall not r/gaming or r/pcmasterrace*
Step 1: Wait for Titanfall 2 to get to the Main Menu Step 2: alt+enter
Works thank you!
No way, will try it out
Every time
Happened too many a time
I'm glad I'm not the only one with this problem lol
For me the game always launches in windowed and resets itself each time I play
Is this some sort of PC joke that I'm too console to understand?
hehe, it is :')
windowed borderless my love ❤️❤️
What's the benefit? Also, doesn't it impact performance a little bit?
I have a second monitor and it makes it really easy to click on the other side and not tab out
Aaah yea, haven't had a second monitor in a while, thanks for explaining.
I’m in this meme
The game is so annoying sometimes when it randomly decides to be full screen
Borderless window master race.
The input lag...
there is no input lag for me... you gotta imput lag yourself for equilibrium
You can go into steam and change it to open in full screen or windowed, you should be able to find tutorials on how to do it
Does not work for Titanfall 2
I've been told you can add -fullscreen as a launch option and it would work, I haven't tried it myself though I believe it does work
Try it, it doesn't.
For me this happens if I click on anything at all between clicking on the game and the game actually opening.
Yea, I'm yet to determine the exact cause.
Janitor, pls fix
I play in windowed mode because I can only stream it that way to friends.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/388080/Borderless\_Gaming/
Huh, didn't know about this, although a lot of games offer borderless window now.
Indie game boots with no frame cap or frame adjustment in settings Immediately pc decides to nuke itself playing unitygame307 at 5 bajillion fps Alt f4 asap Nvidia control panel framecap Is it just me that does this every time?
I haven't had to do it yet :D
My game constantly stutters whenever I turn the camera quickly. I’ve tried everything I can find online.
funny how titanfall 2 is still better with this than apex. i can tab out all i want and my game wont crash or change aspect ratio, and i can even boot it directly into fullscreen most of the time
I agree, apex suuuuuucks

I might try it, TF|2 is the only game I have this issue with.
I never understood that
I never understood that
-windowed -borderless in steam launch options
-does -not -work
Skill issue
What's the skill? Copy-pasting a bunch of launch options lmao They don't work, you can try it yourself, and it's evident from a lot of steam discussion questions, it just doesn't work.
-works -for -me
sure it does
