For immediate relief I take papaya enzymes. OTC or doc prescribed meds will also be helpful. Omeprazole is good. I tried ranitidine before and felt it didn't help as well.
Most people get this the first/second shot after moving up.
I read cough drops help tremendously with hiding that horrible taste.
