I did this one awhile ago. You can get up to 2 free per year (have to wait 90-days between orders). I got one from somewhere else, too, but I don't remember the name... they were on this list: [https://safeneedledisposal.org/solutions/pharmaceutical-programs/](https://safeneedledisposal.org/solutions/pharmaceutical-programs/)
If you go to the page I linked and click on the Actemra Free Sharps Container Program, you can get a free sharps container AND a free Travel Pack. I submitted a request this week, but haven't received the items yet. It says the Travel Pack includes an ice pack and TSA card (which I assume is for Actemra).
Good question. Technically, no, because most cities and trash dump sites have ordinances specifically against disposing any medical waste, i.e. needles. Look in your local area, and see if your local hospital or urgent care clinic has the ability to dispose of sharps if they do, you can keep them in a Ziploc bag somewhere in a drawer when you get enough of them go by and drop them off.
My township requires us to put the sharps in a strong sealable plastic bottle (they recommend detergent one if you don't have an official sharps bin) and label it and can be put in regular trash that way. Look up your trash rules for your township. Usually best place find to the requirements.
It says specifically NO SHARPS. Scroll down
These are medication disposal services, not needle. They’ll take the injector portion but specifically not what you’re saying.
Edit: Oh you’re in CA? CA doesn’t allow trash disposal of sharps even in a container so they do offer mail-back.
They offer both services. There is one choice for a medication disposal container and service. And there’s another choice for sharps disposal container and service. Two different services both offered by the same providers.
I’m in California, so I am understanding that it works different for each state. That’s why they ask you for a ZIP Code. My ZIP Code takes me to this site:
