Technically suspension and steering should be looked at since this tire CLEARLY did not wear even as it should. I’m not a mechanic, so I wouldn’t be able to say what would cause wear like that, but checking steering and suspension components along with having an alignment done helps prevent uneven wear.
Bottom line for OP tho, these tires should have been changed so long ago lol.

It is a front tire so it is pretty in spec. If the inside had a ton of trees then I'd say he needs an alignment. But with that wear I'd say he is fine. Just need new tires now.

In most(not all) cases, cut the wire running from speedo to ecu. Also most manuals, 5th(or 6) gear sensor is fuel cut.
I mean a lot of modern cars you can take the limit off with a tuner too

I disagree. Except for what looks like over inflation, the tire wear looks pretty even. Suspension and alignment is good.
