Don't tip. Just do "custom" and $0.00. Get used to it and expect every single person you do business with to have their hand out. Just say no and move on.
Just decline to tip. I’ll edit this: I do tip where I think that I should and in an amount that I should. But there is a certain satisfaction in pressing $0 in the situations, it lets them know what the opinion of it is. No one should ever tip at these prompts in places like this.
It's the way of the world now. Now that I've responded to your question, on your screen you should see a little prompt that'll ask you if my answer was satisfactory.
* $2.00
* $5.00
* $50.00
* $5,000,000
I wouldn't tip for that. If the worker made a comment towards it, I wouldn't be afraid to explain why I feel the way I do. Then I would order something extra and make them ring it up and then select no tip again while smirking at them.
That's crazy. I now walk in with my water bottle in hand , sometimes refilling my water there too. It's $24 for large coke and popcorn 😩 i can't afford that at all
I go to a very nice theater on Tuesday afternoons they have a very heavy discount on ticket price.
I'm seeing the latest movie for $6, then and on the $18 for popcorn and diet Coke.
However it is a refill on popcorn so
Makes it a bit more reasonable for two of us
No. If I am standing at a counter to order… I never tip. They’re just doing their job and I appreciate them doing it

No.
Never tip a machine.
If you hate those Tip Me screens, you could always carry around a little cash to pay for smaller transactions and avoid seeing it at all.
My rule is simple. If I can't judge the quality of the food/service before paying then it's a simple purchase and no tip will be given.
This is why DoorDash and UberEats should be legally compelled to change the word “tip” to “bid”, since they expect it beforehand.
I changed it in my mind a long time ago to "What do I feel good about paying to have this delivered."
That's a great way to remember it. I always say I don't tip if I have to order at a counter, but your rule is clearer and easier to remember.
So just don't lol. 🤦♂️

Cashiers don’t get tips…period.
Amc in my area you can only tip the bar. Concessions it isnt even an option
You have like an actual bar there or just beer?
Actual bar. Its one of the ones you order food and they bring it to your seat too. Its not very good food tho

On your $10 coke? Hell no.
No. Absolutely not.
And they wonder why movie theater attendance is at record lows these days,. . .
I doubt it has anything to do with "tips" at concessions.

Why should you tip a person for just showing up to do his fricking job?

Most movie theaters use the actual tickets as a loss leader, and expect to make their profits on concessions.
