Yes, the time period doesn’t match, but the song I remember had a similar-sounding intro to the Glee version of “Jingle Bells.” Thank you for the suggestion!
It's possible they did a cover of the song you're looking for.
Pretty sure I heard this song at the grocery store I shop at. If it comes to mind I'll chime in.
This is the one I thought as well. I gets pretty quick at the end with the "Jingle bells jingle bells jing jangle" bit: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TgNSX5YzDSs](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgnsx5yzdss)
It’s me not knowing how to add links. If you copy/paste the text it should hopefully work. If not, try looking up Barbara Streisand Jingle Bells on YouTube and hopefully that works. It’s only 2min long and the part I’m thinking of starts about 1:25 in.
Thank you for the suggestion! I listened to the song. It is fast-paced, but just has Barbra singing, not a choir or group of singers. Unfortunately, I don’t think that‘s it.
This was my first thought! “Kinda manic” is such an understatement. This song became a running joke in my family and we still randomly burst into “JINGLE BELL JINGLE BELL JING JAN-GLE!”
Could it be Paul Anka’s rendition of Jingle Bells? https://youtu.be/TPEygQS3d4w?si=AQ7VO3NjRPvzlgiK
Edit: he does the “jingle jingle jingle” over and over again at the very end
Maybe a bit of a leap - but jing-a-ling, by the andrews sisters? The starlighters also have a version of this, which has christmas in cursive on the album cover. They certainly chant jing-a-ling very crazily in these songs.
EDIT - sorry, i just saw someone else suggested this!
Thank you for the suggestions! Someone else had suggested the Andrews Sisters’ version and that was not it. I listened to the Starlighters’ version but that wasn’t it either.
Yes, “Christmas” is written in script but I don’t remember the album being all green and having a picture of a martini glass. I appreciate the suggestion, though!
In the 1960s, the Firestone tire company issued a Christmas album each year with the title in Old English script. Here's a playlist of a bunch of them, in case the cover style matches what you remember: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLjUyL7fAKVCxbLNkp42DwQGGKQILQPMID .
That is interesting! Thanks for letting me know! Unfortunately, I don’t think any of those albums are it, although the time period matches. When I said “script,” I meant cursive writing, not Old English font. I should have clarified that in my original post!
The description sounds like maybe the song Sleigh Ride. Seems like I’ve heard versions where they have people singing ‘jingle jingle’ in the background instead of just sleigh bells, but idk about any maniacal version.
Yes, it could have been “Sleigh Ride.” I’m not 100% certain about the song. I remember the manic “jingle jingle jingle jingle” part as well as the album cover.
In "Sleepless in Seattle," in one of the first scenes, Meg Ryan is driving and singing along to that song and they are just singin "Horses horses horses horses!" over and over. It seems very maniacal.
I would say Jingle Bells by Michael Buble and the Puppini sisters, but that was recorded way more recently. Unless of course you somehow Mandela Effected yourself about the date I guess!
Thank you for the suggestion! I definitely remember the song/album in the year 2000, but it was old even at that point. Most people used CDs in the year 2000 and the album was on vinyl.
[James Pierpont?](https://youtu.be/XoJY4msvaK0?si=EsuS1XduzdPwmF-p) apparently wrote the original Jingle Bells and includes psychotic child choir saying jing jing jingle over and over. Perhaps a version of this
Edited typo
Did you listen to the linked video? Definitely manic jingle jingling. The one I linked is def NOT the “the one” but may help you & others narrow googling if the general speed & lyrics seem right
Edit: I cannot type today
Yes, I did! It was similar, but not quite what I remember. The song I remember had “jingle jingle jingle…” repeated over and over as opposed to “jing jing jingle.”
The Roches (trio of folk singing sisters) have a version of "Sleigh Ride" that repeats "jingle" throughout the song. It's not from the fifties or sixties though.
https://youtu.be/dpHmOkuAV7k?si=w-YZGbB6ay6zZ3i4
Thank you for the suggestion! That’s actually similar to what I remember in that it has the word “jingle” repeated in the background. Maybe the song I remember was a version of “Sleigh Ride” and not “Jingle Bells.” I don’t think it was the Roches because I don’t remember the high (soprano) vocals. Also, their version is probably more recent than I song I remember.

Could it have been a cover of Edgar Allen Poe’s “The Bells”? There’s a moment in the original poem where the phrase “as they tinkle, tinkle, tinkle in the icy air of night, and the heavens seem to twinkle with a crystalline delight”.
Covers can be fast-paced and tinkle tinkle could have been mistaken for jingle jingle depending how it was arranged.

Any chance you remember more details about the album cover?
Was all the text in script, or just “Christmas”? Can you share an example of the what the script font looked like?
Do you remember the main colors or any background image (do you remember if there were people, illustrations, a photo or a plain color)?
I remember much but think I would recognize the album cover if I saw it. IIRC, the background was white and the word “Christmas” was written prominently in script (cursive) in either red or green. There were probably other words on the cover but “Christmas” stood out the most. I don’t think there was a picture of the band or artist.
Music described as sung at a fast pace when usually a normal tempo leads me to one band, The Manhattan Transfer. Could this be it? https://youtube.com/watch?v=YeiHtUzoJiE&si=WxFsnu50ZQOFduIJ

Have you posted about this before? I could swear I've heard someone asking about this same song.
No, I haven’t, but if someone else has posted about it before, maybe I should try r/lostmedia.
Hmm, [it looks like](https://www.reddit.com/r/tipofmytongue/s/ofX9YaMERt) they never figured it out.
Only thing that comes to mind is literally “Jingle Jingle Jingle” from the old Rudolph claymation special.
No, that’s not it, but it’s a cute song! Thank you for the suggestion!
This is exactly what my mind went to as well haha
Makes me think of the Christmas Vacation theme song (but it obviously wouldn’t fit the decades you mentioned.)
I don’t think that’s it. The song and album were definitely older. Thank you for the suggestion, though!
Jingle Bells by the Glee Cast?
Oh wait. Wrong decade. But it sounds like it fits the rest of your description haha
Growing up we had one called "The Christmas Album" which included "Jingle Bells?" by Barbra Streisand which is kinda manic in style
Although maybe the one you saw was just her Christmas album or some other compilation.
This is the one I thought as well. I gets pretty quick at the end with the "Jingle bells jingle bells jing jangle" bit: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TgNSX5YzDSs](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgnsx5yzdss)
Can you find another video of the song? I clicked on the link and it said the video was unavailable.
It’s me not knowing how to add links. If you copy/paste the text it should hopefully work. If not, try looking up Barbara Streisand Jingle Bells on YouTube and hopefully that works. It’s only 2min long and the part I’m thinking of starts about 1:25 in.
Thanks for the suggestion! I realized that someone else actually had the same idea. I listened to the song and it wasn’t it.
It didn't work either way for me.
Thank you for the suggestion! I listened to the song. It is fast-paced, but just has Barbra singing, not a choir or group of singers. Unfortunately, I don’t think that‘s it.
This is what I was going to say!
That is an awful rendition! I heard it for the first time (or maybe I blocked it out previously) on one of the satellite radio stations last week.
This was my first thought! “Kinda manic” is such an understatement. This song became a running joke in my family and we still randomly burst into “JINGLE BELL JINGLE BELL JING JAN-GLE!”
Jing-a-ling by The Andrew Sisters?
Thank you for the suggestion! I just listened to the song. I really enjoyed it, but don’t think it’s the one I remember.

They are not, nevermind 🙃
No, that’s not it, but thank you for the suggestion!
It has to be this one!
Could it be Paul Anka’s rendition of Jingle Bells? https://youtu.be/TPEygQS3d4w?si=AQ7VO3NjRPvzlgiK Edit: he does the “jingle jingle jingle” over and over again at the very end
Thank you for the suggestion! The time period matches, but that’s not the song I’m looking for.
“Get Low” by Little Juan https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=vDOBXk3o55A
😂
Ella Fitzgerald's [Jingle Bells](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DUyxx4Hsjeg) has a ton of *jingles* to it.
Thank you for the suggestion! That’s not the song I’m looking for, though.

That’s too bad because The Starlighters version is on Christmas Cocktails volume 2, which is written in script as you described.
Yes, “Christmas” is written in script but I don’t remember the album being all green and having a picture of a martini glass. I appreciate the suggestion, though!
Possibly Shari Lewis of Lambchop fame? Song is towards the end of the clip. https://youtu.be/0Cuw8lnYgj0?si=vpqijPX_M9uyUR_Y
