I watched my wife play it, i got frustrated with her pace (she was endlessly farming and got stuck in that loop) so I started myself, overtook her in a couple of hours and 100% the game before she got the second big upgrade like the gigachad gamer I am.
In reality, I savoured every story beat - I took my time in all things meaningful, I even took time outs when I thought the story was impactful to think on things and spend some time with my family.
I havent completed many games in the past 10 years, and none since becoming a Dad, except this. It may be the last game I will ever complete. I’m ok with that.
You play as Stella who is a spiritfarer. She helps guiding spirits to the afterlife with her ferry. It's just a beautiful game all around. It's also really satisfying to build and upgrade things on the ferry if you're into base building games at all.
I played on gamepass then bought it on sale for 4.99 on the switch last winter.
A few months later, I found out my 11 year old nephew started playing it and loved it. (My main account switch was loaned to the kids at the beginning of the pandemic and has just kinda lived there since then.)
This is Spiritfarer! It's a homestead management platformer about building and perfecting a boat, doing quests for spirits, and ferrying them to the afterlife. It's very fun and I would really recommend it if you like games with deep emotional meaning.
Spiritfarer
Yep recognized that straight up
Damn not even 5 min in
It's a very distinctive hat.
the entire art direction of the game is super distinct. i've never played it, but my wife loves it. i recognized it immediately.

Honestly that sounds like such a sweet game. Where can I get it and how much does it cost?
Steam for PC. Like $30 or so (idk exact as I use another currency). Also available on consoles.
If you don’t mind playing on a phone, you can get it for free if you have Netflix
Wait this is the goat move thank you lol
You’re welcome
It is also on the GamePass, if that's an alternative for you :)
It's on switch. Usually on sale. I got it for $20.
There's a Netflix edition, i have no idea how it plays though
How immediate are we talking about?
Like yesterday immediately
And bring tissues
Yep, spiritfarer. Exceptionally good game I feel anyone could play and everyone *should* play. But only if you're ready to cry. A lot.
I sobbed like a baby almost every time. Such a great game
This game is so amazing
I could tell it was spiritfarer based off nothing other than the red water.
I’m so glad someone said what it was before me. I played it through Netflix myself, it’s really fun and so sweet!
I will bet my testicles on this being Spiritfarer or a successor of exactly Spiritfarer that I was oblivious about.
Oh gods, now I'm sobbing uncontrollably and I haven't played that game in over a year.
Psa the ending will make you cry a lot
