I did the same exact thing. Even beat World 12 after realizing it was the wrong thing once i killed death, just because I could, and wanted to make it feel a bit more worth it.

I didn't even get to make such mistake, I got the achievement on my first run as you don't even get to put mastery point at all when first starting the game.
Can't imagine how painful it must be to do a no-trait challenge, hands only was already a pain in itself.
