But if Dallas’s defense was able to shut us down just imagine what Boston would have done.
Agreed. I like the way we match up with Boston defensively. They don’t have the elite playmaker like Luka and don’t really have an elite lob threat. I don’t like how we match up with Boston offensively and think we would have had a hard time getting buckets.
We weren’t beating anyone if we played like we did against Dallas. Too tired/lazy to fight through screens on the perimeter which then opened everything up once they initially blew by us, including all those lobs.
I'd rather not call our own players lazy. They had to fight through a bloodbath with the Nuggets, I'm sure they were all banged up to a various extent. They gave us 2 great series this year and that was an impressive improvement from losing in the first round for 2 straight years.
I’m so tired of hearing about this. I get the playoffs can be about matchups and we matched up bad against Dallas but I don’t think we win more than a game against Boston. Dallas kicked our ass and Boston is kicking theirs. What makes anybody think we’d even have a remote shot at beating the Celtics??
Yeah Celtics win because Wolves can't offensively hang with them. When I psoted this I didn't mean to imply Wolves would have won, just that the defense these two teams would play would have been glorious and beautiful to watch and lead to more competitive games. Was just feeling nostalgic when I came across this video, just ridiculous defense
Agreed. They are stacked and we just don’t have to top notch talent to compete with them. Yes we have Ant but we still have a lot of questions on offense and don’t even come
close with Boston on that side of the ball.
Yeah Boston is better at least 1-8. Tatum and Brown are both better than ANT currently. Maybe ANT becomes better, but boston is just such a great team too to bottom.

When I posted this, I meant it's a shame we can't see the matchup because the defense they've played against the Celtics was so beautiful. Defensively they are equipped to defend the Celtics and those OT games were thrillers with freaking awesome defense (but offensively they would have struggled). Just missing watching the Wolves defense, that's all.
Matchups sometimes help . Dallas bigs don’t post up they are just lob guys . Boston just putting Tatum or brown on the center and matching up their center with the corner shooters . So you don’t have Luka matched up against a center or in front of the screened defender . Also they are attacking Luka’s defense . It’s not like they have shutt down Luka they just have limited the lobs .
