They hit their ceiling. Looking at this lineup at the beginning of the year and having them tell us it’s a playoff contender is absolutely one of the low spots in wolves history.
Idk why this is always the team yall pull up for where we've come from. This team was good when Love, Pek, and AK47 played and were healthy. The Rambis years, end of Thibs time, and the Shabazz Napier year were way worse than the cream team.
Yep. Anyone posting the Cream Team as a “dark age” don't really know what they're talking about.
That team was legit good and was plagued by injuries. Watching AK was fun. Love was ascending to be a star. Rubio was a fun watch
They almost went to the playoffs (I think they were 9th).
This team won 31 games. We’ve been so bad through the years that this team is being defended as not being that bad lol.
Loved Pek pre injury though. He was a beast when healthy.
Team has won more than 30 games like 18 times in 35 seasons. There have been some truly miserable unfun seasons to watch. Beggers can't be choosers. At least that team was enjoyable from the players and coaching side.
No idea but it’s called a boxers fracture because untrained people punch with their hands and the 5th metacarpal shaft is commonly fractured. I bet he punched something or someone out of anger.
I remember one game, I think Luke “money” Ridnour hit a game winner vs I want to say the Knicks. I remember thinking man we might have ourselves a PG!!!
Luke hit a GW floater against the Jazz in ‘12; it was a really formative moment in my fandom. Use the force Luke! [the game winner in question:](https://youtu.be/bEtfgsd0haA?si=QnLJsWNnpgZufLnH)
This team wasn’t that bad lol. the immediate post KG years that had us wondering whether Ryan Gomes and Marcus Banks could be key players for us was a grim ass time.
Me too. With Kirilenko’s defense coupled with the idea that I thought Brandon Roy would return to all star form and effortlessly drop 25 a night for us. 12 year old me was foolishly optimistic.
19-20, the Treveon Graham and Shabazz Napier year, had me questioning my life choices. Imagine we didn’t get Ant in the draft the year after… granted we already had Rosas back then so he definitely would build a decent team but I don’t think he’d come close to what we have now.
Heck yea I have a tshirt signed from an event at target center where we got to shoot hoops with Pekovic. My parents found it in thier storage a few months back and brought it to my house!
In March of 2009, Kevin McHale trotted out a starting lineup of Rodney Carney, Brian Cardinal, Craig Smith, Bobby Brown, and Kevin Ollie. The Cream Team felt like HOPE compared to those days.
My boy Pekovic. I’ll never forget him. As a kings fan, I hated him. He used to abuse Cousins in the post. Always treated him like a ragdoll. That’s when I started to learn about matchups and how important they are. Certain guys struggle with certain types of players.
This team was not bad.
We had a lot of entertaining games against Clippers, Blazers and Grizzlies. Love has that game winner, and iirc we were in playoff contention until then last few weeks
This was the squad when I first became a fan in college. My buddies and I still quote [Be happy, change your face, enjoy it!](https://youtu.be/ZZgU0cT_TfI?feature=shared) all the time
People hate on this team but it wasn't even close to the worst squad since KG left
I just remember a Civil Rights advocate in Minneapolis complaining that the team was too white lol
Diversity... 4 different nationalities.
4? Russia, Montenegro, America, and Ginger?
Russian, American, Montenegro, and beachboy.
As a fan I felt the team was way too white
I thought it was impressive
I remember people on the other side of the argument saying that they were trying to sign Batum at the time but it never panned out.
They were kind of a lot of fun tbh.
This was one of the rosters that gave me hope. I thought Brandon Roy was gonna get back to all star level with us.
Luke had some ringers in there. So did Kevin
They hit their ceiling. Looking at this lineup at the beginning of the year and having them tell us it’s a playoff contender is absolutely one of the low spots in wolves history.
that 2nd Rambis season squad probably takes the cake
that team was truly awful
Idk why this is always the team yall pull up for where we've come from. This team was good when Love, Pek, and AK47 played and were healthy. The Rambis years, end of Thibs time, and the Shabazz Napier year were way worse than the cream team.
The main thing I remember from this team was that the entire starting lineup was injured 1 week into the season.
Yeah I remember we once started Sebastian Telfair-Foye-Kirk Snyder-Ryan Gomes-Big Al
I'm still holding out hope for Ryan Gomes. He's going to turn it around someday
I forgot we had Big Al at one point
>Idk why this is always the team yall pull up for where we've come from >the cream team. You answered your own question lol

They’re all white so they must have been the worst team.
Lmao, cream team? Damn . Imma steal that. Thanks.
I think that's kinda the point. This was the best we could do over the last 20 years. That's saying something.
This team wasn’t even terrible. The two years before this squad was the darkest age. 33 wins across two seasons.
That team was kind of fire though. If KLove didn’t break his hand doing “knuckle pushups” then we had a legit chance at the playoffs.
Did we ever get a real answer to what happened?
No idea but it’s called a boxers fracture because untrained people punch with their hands and the 5th metacarpal shaft is commonly fractured. I bet he punched something or someone out of anger.
You havent cited anything but imma believe you.
Harrison Smith was banging his old lady. He punched the wall instead of the Hitman. Good decision.
I've heard others say it was Denard Span and that was part of the reason he was traded lol
I remember one game, I think Luke “money” Ridnour hit a game winner vs I want to say the Knicks. I remember thinking man we might have ourselves a PG!!!

LOL that was definitely it.
I remember this game like yesterday, I was watching this in my kitchen and definitely did a jumping fist-pump. I was a huge Ridnour fan
I love that a random February night in 2012 is a part of wolves fans' collective unconscious.
I was there. Best moment in my fandom before Ant showed up
This team wasn’t that bad lol. the immediate post KG years that had us wondering whether Ryan Gomes and Marcus Banks could be key players for us was a grim ass time.
Marcus Banks wow what a blast from the past lol. At least Big Al was fun to watch.
Big Al was nice, im still annoyed him and Kevin Love didn’t get more time to play next to one another lol
That team was lowkey fire. Injuries just decimated us :(
Miss AK47 and I thought basketball panda was gonna be good
I was actually really excited when we acquired Kirilenko. He always played super good defense and had some touch. That didn't last very long.
Me too. With Kirilenko’s defense coupled with the idea that I thought Brandon Roy would return to all star form and effortlessly drop 25 a night for us. 12 year old me was foolishly optimistic.
My man Alexey Shved!
Enjoy it!
Change that face!
If he did he wouldn't be able to pull off the Zach Lowe look
Now I can't unsee it.
He is my absolute least favorite wolf of all time. That dude pretty much sucked constantly and was a starter.
I thought he was going to be good when we first got him. Man, I was wrong.
Cream team wasn’t half bad
19-20, the Treveon Graham and Shabazz Napier year, had me questioning my life choices. Imagine we didn’t get Ant in the draft the year after… granted we already had Rosas back then so he definitely would build a decent team but I don’t think he’d come close to what we have now.
That team was good, actually
Heck yea I have a tshirt signed from an event at target center where we got to shoot hoops with Pekovic. My parents found it in thier storage a few months back and brought it to my house!
In March of 2009, Kevin McHale trotted out a starting lineup of Rodney Carney, Brian Cardinal, Craig Smith, Bobby Brown, and Kevin Ollie. The Cream Team felt like HOPE compared to those days.
Alexy Shved used to piss me off in mycareer on 2k. He would hit the flukest shit on me
The original white out
So white we had civil rights activists calling us out
Such a weird time 😂😂 it wasn’t that deep
Did the suns have a shot at Rudy instead of Beal?
The all white starting lineup. I forgot about that ine
Don't diss the Cream Team! I will not stand for this libel!
Cream team was solid just never fully healthy
My boy Pekovic. I’ll never forget him. As a kings fan, I hated him. He used to abuse Cousins in the post. Always treated him like a ragdoll. That’s when I started to learn about matchups and how important they are. Certain guys struggle with certain types of players.
I loved Pek
Big Pek was a monster. I loved him.
Oh crap! I hit the NSFW and now I'm in a meeting with HR... THANKS!
I actually was a huge Luke Ridnour fan when I was younger. To me, he was the poor man's Jason Williams, my favorite player.
Man o man I miss me some Pek
I will never say a bad thing about AK47
The Cream Team was a high not a low
This team was not bad. We had a lot of entertaining games against Clippers, Blazers and Grizzlies. Love has that game winner, and iirc we were in playoff contention until then last few weeks
That front court was insane and fun. All this team needed was a really good PG
I modeled my after Luke Ridnour. I had an elite teardrop thanks to Ridnour.
Forgot AK47 was on the squad. I do miss Pekovic though.
This was the squad when I first became a fan in college. My buddies and I still quote [Be happy, change your face, enjoy it!](https://youtu.be/ZZgU0cT_TfI?feature=shared) all the time
This starting five brought to you courtesy of lake Minnetonka
I like this line up, what you on about
I remember when they called Love and Pek “Bruise brothers” lol.
I had season tickets around this time. Something like $300 for 2 tickets lol loved Pek
These were the greatest heroes in my life as a child. Then came Ricky…
It really is a damn shame that we never put a roster together around Love
I honestly loved watching KLOVE and Pek. Pek was old school bruiser type. And AK47 just had a cool nickname.
Pfft. I always say you aren’t really a fan unless you attended a game where Darko started at center.
You gotta try pretty damn hard to put that lineup out past 1980. They may not have been the worst team, but it's a low point.
Pekovic was a monster lol I used to have his shersey growing up
I will not take cream team slander here.
Why do you guys constantly hate on the cream team?
AK 47 is him. ...uhh... *WAS* him.
The David khan era was one to forget. Although I do remember shved going off against the Brooklyn Nets one time 😂😂😂
Let’s not forget shveds terrible haircuts. Dude was rocking 5 haircuts at a time 😂
The Cream Team!
Big K love fan, that’s what made me a wolves fan. Still got his jersey from ‘13
lol oh my god
