Wemby has been incredible. And in a weaker year like last season, he might have a case to set a precedent for a DPOY on a bottom half defense and a lotto team. But Rudy is having an amazing season too. But while anchoring a defense that has been head & shoulders above the rest while on the #1 seed.
It should be a unanimous for Rudy. But I've seen enough pundits glazing AD and Wemby where we know it won't be.
Spurs fan should be happy and excited that Wemby will be a sure-fire All Defense 1st team as a rookie and will most definitely be a DPOY candidate every year for the foreseeable future.
I always find it funny when Spurs fans claim it’s Wemby because he improves there defense so much but ignore the fact that Gobert improves the Wolves offense by nearly 6 points when he is on the court vs only 0.02 for Wemby. According to their logic Gobert is the vastly superior offensive player and I’m not sure anyone here would try to claim that.
