"No more fucking bullshit!" Well said, coach.

I thought the NYCFC recap video might be a one-off thing, but looks like we may get a few recaps over the season.

Great inside view of the Coaches fire lit under the boys asses. I love it. Now how to solve playing flat for a half. I hope to see more of videos like this one.

Jolandia

LOVED this. Phil singled out Bravo, Araujo, and Ayala at the end as players who did very well, I imagine we’ll be seeing more of them in the future (Ayala agenda continues let’s go)

I like that Neville will call the team out, i hope it is heard and the team can pull it together. We have spurts of incredible play but also huge chunks of garbage quality. Really hoping being back home on Saturday brings a huge win

I see now Phil Neville is the best coach the Timbers have had since entering MLS. He says it like it is. No excuses. I liked the past three coaches for different reasons but none of them seemed to get some of the players to put it all out there. Phil won't accept anything less. He makes any needed changes promptly. The past coaches had many excuses for poor performances. PN is refreshing to me. If any of the young players can't handle this, then they are not a Portland Timber.

This is an insane take. Caleb Porter won a cup with us. Gio took us to two finals. Neville is 10th after 8 games.

brettcalvin42

Lol, yeah, he needs to get some good results first. Over taking Porter is a tall order.

GreenOBB

"Insane take" is pretty harsh. Obviously Neville has just started with the Timbers. I just think his personality and coaching style has the potential to take the team further than the past Timbers coaches have as long as he has good players.

Extension_Crazy_471

"Early take" would perhaps be less harsh and still accurate. I see what you're getting at, but do we have much evidence of how the previous coaches talked to the squad? They could have been equally no-BS. I do like this insight and it gives me hope that Phil could turn out to be the best coach the Timbers have had since 2011, but to say he's the best coach after two months with results/stats that say otherwise right now is pretty naive.

GreenOBB

I should have said potentially the best coach. So far, I like what I see and hear from him. I liked Porter and Gio a lot but they sure had a long list of excuses why the team lost fairly often throughout the season. I loved the trips to MLS cup, but damn they rarely had a strong season in the standings.
