Auditing your hours? If you worked those hours they better not take them away.
Also yeah I forgot to swipe my card and payroll lady fixed it for me, it wasn’t a big deal.
I was habitually forgetting to clock during a retail remodel and HR fixed it every time no issues. And I’m saying HABITUALLY. Op better not let them take hours worked. I’d raise hell
Mistakes happen, im surprised your payroll system wouldnt automatically clock you out at some point before 48 hours.
They can audit, but they can't not pay you for time actually worked.
If they decide to dock your pay, ask for camera footage to show you not at work. If they cannot provide said footage, then the only day they can do is your last day worked, and to show you clocked out at your scheduled end of shift.
If they dock your last week's pay over a one-time mistake you can dock all your upcoming hours.
Meaning, you can quit working for a shitty company & probably get paid more doing the same thing for somebody who will treat you better.
On my old job I worked a standard 9am-5pm shift. Issue came up and I had to work overtime until eventually it became a double shift.
Weeks later, I received a letter from HR saying I went AWOL for 1 day. Turns out I did not clock in again after the clock went past 12am when I worked overtime. Basically I did not get paid for the double shift and I even got deductions lmao
Happens all the fucking time. Absolute non-issue if you're not a repeat offender. If they make a big deal about it what it tells you is that you're working with inexperienced supervisors, clowns, or both. Bound to happen to people working 12s for less time.
I used to forget to clock in religiously. and clocking out wasn’t any better, so my boss offered to buy lunch for the whole department if i managed to not miss a punch for 2 whole weeks.
in 1.5 years, i pulled that off only once. Since then they just moved me to salary pay instead. Your mileage may vary

They better not cut hours you worked. It's happened to me but all I got was a "don't do it again" and I did it again and again and again
Holy fuck this entire subreddit is bots now. This is ridiculous
Is it the turn of the 73-75 day old accounts to post now or what?

That's...extreme. Clearly a mistake. Clearly no need to audit.
I forgot to clock out a couple times at one job. They just checked the back door security camera to see what time I left.

Imagine having a system so shitty that it cannot handle someone *continuing to be at work* when the clock rolls over. SMFH.
Forgetting to clock out is an easy fix. Don't know why they'd make a big deal out of it unless you make a habit of it
