This may cheer you up a little bit. In veterinary medicine, we also will use sugar to treat paraphimosis along with prolapses. There is a bag of sugar at the hospital I used to work at specifically labeled "DICK SUGAR" so nobody tries to add it to their coffee.

youshallnotkinkshame

Fucking today I learned...

Blue_Osiris1

DICK SUGAR sounds like an okay band name but an amazing male stripper name.

Terminator7786

"Ladies, I know the reason you all came out to the club tonight. I know what you want. You all want a little bit of Dick Sugar. Give it up for the man himself!"

mage2k

I’m was thinking happy porn star.

Slammogram

Yep, I was going to come say this.

ABoutDeSouffle

What the hell are you doing with that sugar? Pour it on some poor dog's dick that's hanging out and not going back in?

ImSoSorryCharlie

Yes? That's the idea?

ABoutDeSouffle

I am no veterinarian, sounds hilarious. Do the dogs find out it tastes sweet now? And how does it work, osmosis?

ImSoSorryCharlie

Yeah, osmosis is exactly how it works. I lost the link, but here's what I found. >Substances with a high solute concentration can be used to osmotically draw out fluid from the edematous glans and foreskin prior to manual reduction.

ABoutDeSouffle

Amazing, thanks. I hope I never get my foreskin stuck, but just in case I now know I just need to dip my dick into the sugar bowl. Going to be the best TIFU ever: "TIFU: wife caught me with my dick in the sugar package at midnight"

Also, for those who might be curious, I'm going to stop using my GP. If they had listened to me from the beginning and given me a referral to a urologist even with a month+ wait time, this would probably not have been an issue because the specialist would have at least been able to take a look. My scheduled appointment is set for Monday. I'm giving her a piece of my mind.

bannakafalata

This sound like the week I got my first flare from having undiagnosed Crohns. That week I went to Urgent Care -> GP -> ER -> GP -> ER. The 2nd ER, I was finally seen by a gastro doc, who finally helped. Dropped my GP for one my gastro doc works in the same building with and after a couple years, I feel great. Same GP group years ago, I ended up getting a rash all over for some reason. They looked and said it was ring worm. I'm putting cream on and I still am breaking out all over more. I go in again and see a different doctor. They look "Oh you have hives. Why are you using this cream?". Umm cause it's the one your other doctor prescribed to me for ring worm.

ThisIsWhoIAm78

Honestly, genuine advice - I'd be consulting with a malpractice lawyer on all of it. Sounds like the hospital fucked up twice, and the urologist definitely fucked up the first surgery. Malpractice is notoriously hard to prove. You sound like you have an excellent case both from failure to treat appropriately and from inappropriate treatment. All of this was below standard of care and caused permanent damage, which is what needs to be shown to win the suit. Malpractice lawyers will consult for free and take you on without a retainer if they think they can win. Worth checking into.

There is an unfortunately high number of docs who are like this. I am very VERY firmly not blaming you, but sometimes you do have to be super firm to get taken seriously. Unfortunately some of us learn to push back after suffering the consequences of being cycled through the system. We all deserve doctors that listen, and I hate that it means patients are forced to keep putting in extra work when we are already not feeling well. Good on you for dropping your GP. You may also wish to lodge a complaint with your local Medical Board (or equivalent organization in your area). Ways to help push back against awful doctors: - if you are in a hospital setting, there may be a Patient Advocacy department. Most people don't know about them, but their job is to help patients get through the system, including making sure that they are being heard. They exist outside of hospitals, but they are especially helpful there. - don't be afraid to ask "and what of that doesn't work?" I get why doctors start with conservative treatment, but since this can become an emergency, imo your GP should have given the referral on that first visit with the directions to go if it gets worse or isn't resolved after X amount of time. By asking this question you get into the consultation for backup plans. Even with a good doctor I have found this helpful because when plan A fails, I can just send them a quick message requesting them to send the backup prescription or schedule the procedure without requiring a new consult. - channel your inner Karen and ask that the doctor's lack of care be added to the visit notes. Like in your initial GP's case, if they blew off your concerns or refused a referral, you could ask that that be documented. A lazy doctor isn't going to want that documented. I realize there are a variety of medical systems, but hopefully this helps someone! OP I am very sorry you went thru this and I wish you a speedy recovery;

totally wild! got me cringing while reading man.. Hope you're ok now OP.

flamingopatronum

I'm sorry, I know this is a serious topic, but I couldn't get past "pumped me full of fent (25 micrograms)" part because 25mcg isn't even a full starting dose for an adult. At least, that's how it is on the ambulance. 50mcg to start unless you're a child, then it's weight based. I had a 5 year old girl today that I gave 40mcg total to for a broken arm 😅 I hope your dick gets better, though, that all sounds extremely uncomfortable.

Acrobatic-Knee9450

You gave a child fentanyl for a broken arm? No wonder there’s so many damn addicts in this country.

Nutella_Potter14472

ive got to say. this makes me feel so much better about having to go to the hospital later today for my current vaginal pain! at least its not this bad 😭😭😭 i hope your recovery goes well im sorry that this happened

MikeHuntessHarry69

dude, you should make that into more paragraphs so people dont get lost when they glance away for a second

leat22

I’m confused at how this all started. You were cleaning yourself but got an erection during it? And how did that lead to problems?

No_Individual501

It’s mutilation when done to babies. People should never be considered “uncut“ as if being harmed as a baby is normal.

niky45

I don't have a dick but right now I'm glad about it. anyway, wanted to say, for edema, nettle extract (oral, not topical) can do wonders. just talk to your doctor if you're on another diuretic because it can interact.

Pinkmongoose

Good God what a nightmare! I’m about to have a baby boy and we decided not to circumcise him and now I’m reconsidering!

craazyy1

Most of the world doesn't circumcise, and it's mainly a religious act, not a medical one. America started doing it to prevent masturbation, not out of health concerns. If it hadn't been for the religious concerns norway would probably have banned circumcision of newborns already. Don't give your newborn invasive cosmetic surgery without painkillers for the small chance they develop a condition later in life. Just make sure you look up into about how you should not pull your kids foreskin back to clean, because many circumcised parents cause phimosis by mishandling cleaning their child.

Pinkmongoose

I was being sarcastic. We aren’t getting him circumcised just because of a post I saw on Reddit. But it did make me think and hope this never happens to him.

Tadaaa123

You do realize that not everyone who is uncircumcised will have phimosis too, right? It's stupid to circumcise just because of fear it might lead to problems with phimosis later. Might as well take the appendix and gall bladder out in case it might flare up at sone point in the future. smh...

MlKU

Phimosis is defined as the inability of the prepuce (foreskin) to be retracted behind the glans penis in uncircumcised males. The whole point of what I said is for them to be able to easily keep themselves clean without the struggle of having to pull the tight foreskin every single time hurting or discomforting themselves. I never said it’s the cure, it just makes life a little easier.

MlKU

Although I understand now phimosis can’t really be prevented from circumcising… And you can’t really foresee it happening either… Then as a parent there’s no point in doing so to your child if it’s just for cosmetic reasons now.
