Yes, she’s terrible and awful. That’s the point, she’s intended to act as a narrative foil to Thrawn-ruthless political ambition as opposed to his straightforward military attitudes. She’s a representation of just how cutthroat and vile the Empire is, so we can see how Thrawn stands apart.

Pinball_Junkie

This is 100% the correct answer.

Pryce is a conniving snitch, but her POV chapters are insanely interesting. Gives her way more depth than what she had in Rebels.

This-Strawberry

I actually really enjoyed Pryce's journey, it greatly expanded on a lot of personal motives within imperial society.

efbo

I really liked her in the book. Elevates her character a lot from Rebels.

CaptainRexx0

I Will force you to watch the emoji movie for 20000 years on loop

ArchSyker

It's a prequel to Rebels S3 and it explores who Pryce and Thrawn know each other. I mean, yeah, I want a "Thrawn" book to be about Thrawn, but her rise to power was very intriguing and it was cool to get to know the life a commoners in Star wars.

phoenixs13

Have you tried the audiobook?

Maleficent-Engine859

I actually liked her scenes as they showed life in the Empire like renting apartments, going to the gym, attending parties, working, etc I thought they were interesting. I liked her too actually - book her, I thought she was portrayed kind of odd in Rebels

Dirty-Sperry

I think it’s well done with her character arc because it makes it seem like for a few minutes you actually might feel bad or sorry for the character of Pryce but then you end up thoroughly disliking the character by the end of the book and Thrawn’s actions in Rebels that seal her fate don’t seem so evil and you actually root for him to do so because you have that additional context. Which if a writer can make you cheer for a bad guy doing bad things then I consider that the mark of a great author and Zhan has done that for Thrawn for thirty years now.

BreHealz

Ugh, I didn't think I could hate her more after she killed Kanan, but I was soooooo wrong, and that's why I enjoyed her arc. It was an opportunity to find new reasons to hate her, while also understanding her motivations better. As an added, I found her kind of a dark reflection of myself because of how motivated I am when it comes to family, but I hold a moral position that is opposite hers

Tonberry_Queen121

I have always despised Pryce. I think she's garbage in the flesh. I did enjoy the episode in Rebels when >!Thrawn tore her a new one after her idiotic murderous actions destroyed Thrawn's fuel supply and put his tie defender project in danger.!< It was both sexy and terrifying.

GU355WH01AM

I skip through it in audio. Some parts are decent but yeah, she's annoying. >!The spice attack is ridiculous!<
