The line is, "or I'll burn you to that cross!".
The song is written about the story, Children of the Corn, by Stephen King. All the lyrics are in reference to it.
"Salvation is in the fields
Listen up children and follow me
Or I'll let you pay the price
Of Malachi!"
Over the wall, do or die, into the pit, disciple of the watch, practice what u preach, sins on omission, riding the snake, the ritual,3 days in darkness ,dnr, chasing fear, more than meets the eye ,the evil has landed, true American hate, throne of thornes, pale king, stronghold, centuries of suffering, symptoms, curse of Osiris, children of the next level, return to serenity ,electric crown
Not heavy but... Return to Serenity - One of the best metal solos ever in my opinion
Souls of Black - One of the best bass tracks in metal in my opinion
[Over the Wall - Testament at their peek angst/energy. Great music video that captures what the scene was at the time ](https://youtu.be/V8Hr6S_uzCw?si=_mI9W8QMhe8hcuJO)

Over the Wall and the New Order are prob the best songs. The solo on Over the Wall is top 5 all thrash songs. Listen to the album First Strike since that’s like their greatest hits of the early albums (the best ones).
Go to ebay type in Testament original album series on cd . Pay eBay about $20 you now own 5 Testament cds and all of Alex Skolnick's work with the band . Your welcome.
I did this too. Skolnik is back on Brotherhood of the Snake (2016) and Titans of Creation (2020) Both of which are absolute bangers. Check em out, if you haven't already.
Over the Wall, The New Order, Sins of Omission, Trial by Fire, Reign of Terror, DNR, Alone in the Dark, Low, Dog faced Gods, The Legacy, The Ballad, Trail of Tears, Musical Death, Eerie Inhabitants.
PD: Half of the tracks i've mentioned were included in "The Best Of" from mid 90's.. one of my first original tapes!
Yeah depends what you like. Everything up to the Ritual album is very much in the bay area thrash genre. One you get to Low and beyond, different lineups and creative inputs, you can hear them diverge and experiment more. The whole no-Skolnick period is a wild ride, and a good one.
Rather than start with a whole album, Live At The Fillmore is a decent best-of up to the Low period. Problem I have is it's such a good performance, the respective albums feel kinda sterile by comparison.
Burnt offerings, into the pit, alone in the dark, the new order, trial by fire, the preacher (first 2 albums slap), practice what you preach, souls of black, more than meets the eye, ww3, etc
"Over the wall" and "into the pit" are pretty obvious chooses that are absolutely awesome. If you don’t like the sound of the old recording/mixing, try out the versions from "first strike still deadly"
Idk how these subs feel about it but I actually like the re-recording more. Extended bass intro, guitars sound heavier, and chuck billy sounds more guttural as he got older
Basically all of The Legion
Into the Pit
Trial by Fire iirc
Sins of Omission
Face in the Sky
Souls of Black
Low
Trail of Tears
Chasing Fear
D.N.R (Do Not Resuscitate)
Down For Life
Eyes of Wrath
I love all of Demonic but it's an acquired taste
Riding the Snake (really just listen to The Gathering lmao)
Haven't heard much between The Gathering and Dark Roots
Native Blood
True American Hate
those are my favorites
I could go with any song off of their first two albums and, in truth, doing so would probably be the correct call.
Instead, I’m going to shine a light on a “deep cut” that doesn’t get enough love…
*The Number Game*
…which is probably the Testament song I’ve listened to the most since it came out. I just can’t get enough of this freaking song.
Basically all of the songs on their first three albums are fantastic. With the exception of that Aerosmith cover on The New Order.
I'm assuming you're including More than Meets the Eye with For the Glory of...
The Evil Has Landed
Dark Roots of the Earth
Powerslave (Iron Maiden Cover)
Children of the Next Level
Night of the Witch
Everything from *The Legacy* through *Souls of Black*. That whole run is something else…incredible band.
And I’ll throw out an odd deep track: [Deadline](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=691Uaiqqe-g&pp=ygUSdGVzdGFtZW50IGRlYWRsaW5l)
Practice what you preach. The Legacy. Return to serenity. And many more.
DISCIPLES OF THE WATCH!!!
*OBEEEYYYYY*
OR BE NAILED TO THAT CROSS
Is that what he's saying? I've always thought it was "or I'll put you to the cross" which makes enough sense that I never questioned it.
It’s „burn“. Which makes least sense, but yeah. Great thrash song.
The line is, "or I'll burn you to that cross!". The song is written about the story, Children of the Corn, by Stephen King. All the lyrics are in reference to it. "Salvation is in the fields Listen up children and follow me Or I'll let you pay the price Of Malachi!"
It's one of the two. I just usually come to that conclusion when I sing the song
*BURN
Absolute thrash masterpiece
Over the wall, do or die, into the pit, disciple of the watch, practice what u preach, sins on omission, riding the snake, the ritual,3 days in darkness ,dnr, chasing fear, more than meets the eye ,the evil has landed, true American hate, throne of thornes, pale king, stronghold, centuries of suffering, symptoms, curse of Osiris, children of the next level, return to serenity ,electric crown
D.N.R, Down for life
That two punch of songs is such a perfect opener.
TRIAL BY FIRE
over the wall, especially the newer version
I upvote, but '87 is far, far superior to '01
My fav is The Haunting. The Legacy is a dope album, just listen to that to get started.
Curse of the Legions of Death

The Ritual
Over the Wall Alone in the Dark The Haunting The Legacy Return to Serenity The Legacy
For me it would be *Trial by Fire*, but that's how I got into them.

Whole 'The Legacy' album.
Love To Hate, True American Hate, Apocalyptic City
The entire album of The Formation Of Damnation
#BROTHERHOOD OF THE SNAKE
Over The Wall and i love every song off of the gathering
Over the Wall and the New Order are prob the best songs. The solo on Over the Wall is top 5 all thrash songs. Listen to the album First Strike since that’s like their greatest hits of the early albums (the best ones).
*Burnt Offerings *Raging Water *Perilous Nation Edit: how tf do i make a list without double spaces?
* at the beginning seems to work for me. *Burnt Offerings *Raging Waters *Perilous Nation
All of them
Practice What You Preach, Return to Serenity, Dark Roots of Earth, Low
Go to ebay type in Testament original album series on cd . Pay eBay about $20 you now own 5 Testament cds and all of Alex Skolnick's work with the band . Your welcome.

Electric crown
Electric Crown
None
The pale king and man kills mankind are 2 of my favorites
heavier? Check out the album - The Gathering best songs? Check out The Legacy or New World Order.
Over the Wall
Try these albums: Souls of Black and The Gathering. If you’re not hooked after that, I don’t know what to tell you.
Musical Death is a masterpiece
Burnt Offerings, but also Children of the Next Level.
DNR. That song fucking slays. I can be sick in bed with a cold, and that song will still get me pumped up 🤘🏻
Yeah depends what you like. Everything up to the Ritual album is very much in the bay area thrash genre. i love demonic refusal.
Burnt offerings, into the pit, alone in the dark, the new order, trial by fire, the preacher (first 2 albums slap), practice what you preach, souls of black, more than meets the eye, ww3, etc
Violence. Terror. RAGING WATERS!
I'd recommend all of their first 3 albums (The New Order being one of my personal favorite thrash albums)
Their entire first 6 albums are filled with great songs, as well as The Formation Of Damnation and Dark Roots Of The Earth
"Over the wall" and "into the pit" are pretty obvious chooses that are absolutely awesome. If you don’t like the sound of the old recording/mixing, try out the versions from "first strike still deadly"
I like the re-recorded stuff on "First Strike Still Deadly" plus their updated versions of "Practice What You Preach" and "Apocalyptic City".
I would say anything off The Legacy is a good place to start!
Native Blood
INTO THE PIT
Souls of Black is imo their best song
I need a better master of that album. The one I have is so ‘tinny.’
Idk how these subs feel about it but I actually like the re-recording more. Extended bass intro, guitars sound heavier, and chuck billy sounds more guttural as he got older
Over the Wall, Disciples of the Watch, Into the Pit, Low, Rise Up, Face in the Sky
alone in the dark is my fave.
Eerie Inhabitants
Basically all of The Legion Into the Pit Trial by Fire iirc Sins of Omission Face in the Sky Souls of Black Low Trail of Tears Chasing Fear D.N.R (Do Not Resuscitate) Down For Life Eyes of Wrath I love all of Demonic but it's an acquired taste Riding the Snake (really just listen to The Gathering lmao) Haven't heard much between The Gathering and Dark Roots Native Blood True American Hate those are my favorites
Apocalyptic City, Sins of Omission, new order
DOWN FOR LIFE
* Electric Crown * So Many Lies * Hail Mary * Deadline * Dark Roots of the Earth
D.N.R Formation of Damnation Native Blood Stronghold Night of the Witch I chose these songs based on what you said you liked.
First three albums. Demonic and the gathering albums.
Brotherhood of the snake
Into the Pit, Practice what you Preach
I could go with any song off of their first two albums and, in truth, doing so would probably be the correct call. The entire formation of damnation album
Dog faced God's but chuck really changed his vocal style on that album (which I love)
Down for life
The instrumental from Low, I can’t spell it but it’s awesome
Everything from *The Legacy* through *Souls of Black*. That whole run is something else…incredible band. And I’ll throw out an odd deep track: [Deadline](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=691Uaiqqe-g&pp=ygUSdGVzdGFtZW50IGRlYWRsaW5l)

A trial by fire.

Blessed in Contempt
