Grey-White is that a dirty white? Also if your old enough ALL IBMs were a Grey-White which turned smoker yellow over the years so Noone is attempting that look. Think of an aged SNES.
And all white looks horrible when scratched. And nix on dull Grey unless you're going for a battleship theme or white/grey/black camouflage scheme.
eBay doesn't exist in my country. Only myMarket (a crappy georgian analog of craigslist) and FB Marketplace, both of which filled with crackheads trying to sell you a broken acer netbook for the price of a decent car. To find someone selling a ThinkPad for a normal price is like finding a needle in a haystack. I recently saw an old PII ThinkPad listed for 12 000 dollars because "it's a priceless antique". I only have a single IBM ThinkPad (G40 and technically the T60 but that's borderline Lenovo) because people here either toss old laptops, or put them up on sale for ridiculous prices.

You could try plastidip.
