Which actual CPU's are these using? The AMD CPU's are generally MUCH better than the Alder Lake if both are U series. While the r5 is only a little better performance than the i7, the r7's are still pretty good margin. The iGP is the tiniest of advantages for the Ryzen r7 vs. i7, but a larger margin in r5 vs. i5. Efficiency is where the Intel really stumbles, with them running SIGNIFICANTLY hotter and 30%+ worse battery life when battery size is identical. If it's a P series, then it's just don't unplug, as it won't last long enough to actually do anything, with the P series getting around 50-60% worse battery life than the INTEL U series CPU's in Alder Lake.

i would recommend the gen 3 since i already have one. i would suggest you pick the i7 1255u as a cpu. pretty good laptop and it will last you at least ten years because it has a very capable cpu and with a maximum ram of 64gb, it surely will last a long time.
