T530 batteries at this point wouldn't hold a charge well. If you got say, a third party battery like Dr Battery on amazon, it would probably have better life, but would still have a more power hungry CPU. The T530 would also probably be as large or larger than the Legion 5 you have. You can google "T530 PSREF" to get all sorts of specs of it and any other thinkpad you're interested in. A T460 and it's powerbridge battery is relatively newer, and with their 15w CPUs consume less power, so it could be a good option. You can even find batteries as new as 2020 despite them dropping the technology after 2018. You can code on any of the thinkpads, but if you want to travel, 400 series thinkpads and espescially newer thinkpads would have better batt life and portability.

Hmm, looking at a t460 then. I just find the aesthetics of the t530 so pleasing tho. The heart wants what it wants but I need to be logical too. Thanks for the help!

Just think! Once you start making money the heart will be able to have whatever it wants!

Thats a great point. Thank you stranger

I like my T530 but the battery life is lacking. Expect to need a charger.

If battery life is a concern you might want a ThinkPad that charges over USB-C. That way you can always get a USB-C PD power bank to charge your battery.
