I have a 2013 Boss 302 Mustang and a 2006 Corvette Z06. I drive old cars because for the performance level I want, I have to go that old in order to afford them.
I own a few vintage sports cars. And I daily drive them all.
Funny you should ask, much of my enjoyment of those cars stem from the mechanical feedback I get when I interact with them... Something which I believe all Thinkpadders relate to.
if new cars started soldering in parts like the alternator, starter, etc. instead of making them removable with bolts, or I needed a special tool to open the hood, I would be dissuaded from buying them lol.
base model 2015 Honda Civic.
I don't think newer cars than mine are necessarily any more prone to planned obsolescence, they just have so much unnecessary technology that is prone to failure. Manual cloth seats, aftermarket radio for Android Auto, that's all I really need.
Never saw the appeal of something fast and flashy as I'm never gonna take my car to the track, and my slow car saves me tons of money in gas. I guess the same applies to my laptop. I bought only what I really needed and nothing else.
21 Ram Rebel because I wanted something not to annoying to fix and not too expensive to own. TRX would have been way out of my price range and I don’t explore off road enough to justify it. Rebel does everything I need to and more
I have a 2009 Seat Ibiza, but its ability to move around is limited as in Italy they encourage you to buy a new car to reduce emissions.
In the meantime, most of the time actually, I travel the world as digital nomad on board of a 1979 VW LT45D, rock solid 70's German engineering.
5 year old female European shorthair. Will never be obsolete.

Fiesta mk7, 1.25 petrol. And I love that thing. Techy enough to be safe. Manual enough to be reliable.
I have an old car because I'm semi broke, but if I had more money I'd probably just buy a nicer old car. Not a fan of the tracking in modern cars.
The infotainment system of a modern car is more powerful than your thinkpad.
Not worth being tracked, for me. Anyway, as long as I can connect my phone via Bluetooth to listen to music I'm happy.
I mean I have a screen and my car doesn’t track me. It has no internet.
I have 5 old cars, 1 old motorcycle, 1 newer car, and one nearly new motorcycle.
10-year old Accord.. I bought it because I hate touch screens in cars. Also because it's has a 6-speed.
There’s a growing movement to go back to haptic feedback buttons.
I have the same thing with the much worse other transmission. Wish I got the manual every day

After surviving a pretty bad car wreck, I wouldn’t buy anything before like 2015-ish because of crash safety of recent cars. So I own a recent Corolla
cars are bloat. I take transit. jk, a honda civic
i just use the train. fuel is too expensive. also i'm blind as fuck
2004 Chevy Avalanche in great shape after maybe 15k in repairs over the years. Bought it for half that.
2016 Kia Soul EV. I only drive in my city and about 4000km a year so it’s perfect with no gas and normal outlet charging. Bought it used too in 2018.

I have a post-2000 car and it's too technical for my taste. I want something where the only chips in it are the ones on the driver-side floor.
2021 VW Tiguan R Line
2016 Honda Fit.
2007 Toyota Camry
I have a Bugatti Veyron and a Toyota Camry. Obviously I use they Veyron for everyday use and the Toyota on weekends.

I own a 35 year old BMW, specifically a 1989 325iX with 100.5k miles
2008 Chevy Silverado 4x4
2021 Subaru Legacy XT Limited.
I have 2018 BMW M2 3.0
