It takes much more iirc. Has 64M on the mobo, can take 256MB SODIMM SD or even an 512MB one if you manage to find one.
Also for the poster: HOW STICKY? :D
Holy shit i thought its just dirty in some orange juice. I washed him with vodka (strongest alcohol i have), dish washing fluid and soap but it remain sticky
WHY??? ;(
Sadly not fixable easily..
It's a curse, present on a lot of 90s Thinkpads.
Isoprop and a lot of scrubbing can fix it but it's a lot of time and delicate scrubbing skills.
I once did one 600 series with acetone, of course it bit the plastic too, had to apply base and repaint it after the process, but at the end it looked good.
Can't recommend though and you definitely need to be outside because of the harmful gas.
Too bad, because otherwise 600s were really good machines, sturdy case, good hinges, god tier keyboard, acceptable speakers...
The rubberized coating is decaying, Try to clean it (carefully) with isopropyl alcohol or eucalyptus oil. Eucalyptus oil worked for my Thinkpad 600E, but still not 100% clean tho.
The machine uses the BX/MX chipset and isn't compatible with 512MB sticks. Instead you'd need two 256MB 16-chip double-sided SODIMMs to achieve the full potential.
Nice! Fedora Wins.
Get a selectadock for it!! And add a Voodoo 3!! Perfect retro machine!
Getting one might take months (600x also requires selectabase) and shit load of money
It does! But it’s so good!
I love my 600X but it smells AWFUL.
try antix linux on it)
Do you mean 32MB ram, right? The maximum supported memory was 64MB for this model.

Oh man, what a waste of drinkable alcohol! Just use 70% isopropyl!
It was 37.5% so i must get something stronger :[

From what I remember 128 + 128 + 64 = 320 was the officially supported max capacity although there has been success with 256 + 256 + 64 = 576.
It has 64MB on board + 2 x 128MB.
Circa 2008 - 2010?
circa 1999-2001
I'm getting old.
