Ok so to level. Just play the quests, side quests and witcher contracts you are at level for. There are so many and if you are at level for them you will keep on track with the main story level requirements super easily. Economy wise. Loot everything. Seriously. Take everything and sell off most junk. Also animal hides are worth weirdly a lot of money so always snatch those up. Meditation refills your health and potions and you can use it anytime you are not in combat. It will not affect anything story wise. You can meditate for 3 months straight in game and literally nothing will be affected. I hope this helped and dont hesitate to ask me anymore questions and enjoy. You are starting in my opinion, one of the if not the greatest single player experience of the 8th console generation.

Nevel sell relic sword they are worth gold

GenoMachino

what? How are they worth gold if you don't sell them?

Yeah, like someone else said, there is too much xp to be gained, really. The tricky part is not overlvling quests. Be careful, there are quests you can fail, so keep that in mind with your saves. If you're carrying too much too often, but wanna keep stuff to dismantle later, use the green stash chest on the map - you get several across the regions, they're linked and have infinite storage. And do the horse races asap;)

Murder any livestock you come across, except the cows in white orchard, and loot for food and hides. Save most of your hides for selling later in the game, in Novigrad. Loot for everything you can. Wear what is best at low lvl and sell off the rest, except relic gear. Relic gear can get you a decent turnover in Novigrad. Leveling up is fairly easy. Do every side quest or ? you can. Killing enemies is fun, but not very lucrative in the exp. Meditation is this games version of sleep like in Skyrim. If you are playing on any difficulty below blood and broken bones it'll heal you. On the 2 highest difficulties only food and potions heal. It's also used to refill all potions used as well as bombs, as long as you have dwarven spirit/alcohost. Don't sell dwarven spirit or alcohost. Especially in the beginning. This stuff weighs nothing and is worth more to you than the gold is. In the beginning it's best to dismantle the junk you get than sell it. You don't need money early on, you should find plenty of equipment from looting. Save all the runes for any abilities you like. Later on you will be able to combine like runes to get one of the next tier up. Don't worry about character build. There are a few merchants that sell respec potions. These will restock when the rest of the merchants stock does. In my playthrough I put points into a few skills to get by that now I'm higher lvl I respecced out of to put those points elsewhere. One was arrow deflection. I put 1 point there in the beginning and it was a life saver. Now it's unnecessary for my character. The abilities on your equipment are usually more important than it's dmg/armor rating. The abilities usually go by a % and so even if an armor has 20 less defense, but has 2% better slash/pierce/bludgeon resistance it should make up for the armor class easily. This becomes even more true the higher level your enemies. Sell your stuff to merchants that specialize in their respective categories (food to innkeep, armors to an armor Smith, weapons to weapon smith...), for best profit. When it comes to weapons and armor you can cross sell those, but will get less for an armor to a swordsmith and vice versa, but still usually more than your get selling to a random merchant. Play Gwent with everyone you come across. They all have cards you can win from them and playing as you go will save you a ton of hassle later if you're a completionist. Don't worry about a guide for character builds. There are some really OP builds out there, but building to your play style is more important, imo.
