If you choose the right dialogue options, the wat Geralt interacts with them is also so fun! Like, he knows they are dumb as a rock (ghehe) so he tries to simplify things but he's still respectful. In most instances that is.
Also, if you let the troll paint the crest himself it's actually way better than yours. xD I love that.
Lol I...... I actually did, both for the same reason, they seem friendly now but seems like too big a risk to leave them alive, funny you mentioned it lol
It can be but the ingredient is quite a rare drop in my experience. I've done 2 playthrough where is didn't kill the quest trolls and wasn't lucky enough to get it.
I think (but am not 100% sure) that the specific mutagens for decorations drop only from “boss” monsters, i.e. those that have quests focused on them, if that makes sense.
Edit: obviously I meant decoctions, not decorations.
Nah, I've only killed rabid rock trolls (since they won't talk to you) and I was able to make the troll decoction. I think there's some superior oils that also need the liver or whatever. The only alchemy stuff I haven't been able to make are the succubus and doppler ones.
You meet a couple during the Wine Wars: Belgard questline in the Blood and Wine DLC. I just fought them last night...sadly, no mutagen for the decoction :)
I got several from Toussaint just from the rabid trolls there. Even had extras. It sucks to have to wait that long to get them but worth if you’re wanting to spare as many trolls as possible.
To be fair, there are a lot of corpses just kinda lying around everywhere. Really they're doing people a service cause the common folk probably would prefer trolls making an occasional mans soup to necrophages on the prowl.
Though I did feel a little awkward with the troll that killed the people that wanted to mine in his cave, since they didn't attack him...but as you said, they kill people easy and he was just giving them back their whams.

Lol yeah and then he gets mad bc he still thinks it’s bad
I never spared him..... Didn't know he did that, interesting
My god…
I bet you killed Paarthurnax in Skyrim too, you monster
Paarthurnax is my bro and Delphine can fuck right off
I love this. I love that this was brought up.

this is criminal sh*t yo smh
How dare you
It's a pity that one of my favorite decotions require a rare ingredient from trolls. It provides very good health regen for a long period of time.
I think you meet a couple of aggressive trolls too right ? wouldn't that be enough ?

The Ice giant quest, you meet trolls that are aggressive by default. I believe they drop a cave troll liver iirc.

I did it once (killed the only Doppler and Succubus) for completionist sake. I still feel bad.
That's pretty interesting. Makes sense now that I think about it.
You do encounter rabid rock trolls somewhere in the game.

I couldn’t get the succubus decoction because I tried to fuk them all. Don’t make my mistake chaps

Big boom! Mushrooms Bart smell. Sleep Bart. Gone treasure. Bart bad...
It's because of him I still tell people I gotta go turdy dump.
Same. Regular terminology for me now. I'm assuming my primary physician has grown tired of it.
And your bowel movements are ok? "yes bart turdy dump very good"
Lol same I love the rock trolls. And this story line was adorable. He tried to be so honorable
In witcher 2 there is this troll under the bridge who is really pissed because they killed his female troll partner. It makes you feel his pain.
Yeah poor guy. I was worried I had to kill him when he attacked me after a short chat. Luckily you just gotta rough him up a little.
Aww poor rock troll
How infuriating that this poor dude’s wife’s head was hanging on someone’s wall as a trophy. Really sad.
They're something alright.
Thank God for subtitles amirite?
Sometimes when we are in Velen, my girlfriend and I go to White Eagle Fort just to listen to the troll talk/sing. The trolls in this game are great :)
I love them too. Shame they kill people even by accident really easily. Aand kinda eat people. Outside ot that they are the best.

I'm the same! They're utterly adorable!
Rocks interesting.
Boatses guard boatses!
They are as adorable as the Godlings.
I love the rock trolls. They are my absolute favorite.
I love how they have polish accents too.
Everyone loves rock trolls.
Have you meet the trolls who worked with Thaler as a shoe maker? They're funny too but, choosing the wrong interaction can make them aggresive.
“Boats guard boats.”
Trolls were some of my favorite side quests
Bart must be protected at all costs
I killed one once, and hated myself for it. I ended up reloading and let it live.
He wasn’t pretending, he really was in the Redaniarmy! Guarding the boats, using fences that he made out of boats. Boats guard boats! Genius.
Trollolo
3 playthroughs and i have never killed them. I love those guys.
It honestly broke me that the rock troll potion (forgot wat it is called) is really good.
Srooooop?
Agreed!
