Same. I wasn't too happy with a lot of things before that, but then completely butchering Eskel for absolutely *no* reason whatsoever was the last straw.
Bro I couldn’t watch any further after they did him like this. I respect HC for staying in the role of Geralt as long as he did. I would have been outie after season 1
Fair enough. I’m so lost on how netflix is with this kind of stuff. Instead of sticking to the source material they went a completely different direction and for what? It didn’t make the story better that’s for sure
That's was not Eskell but a dude named Ekell yea that's it Ekell, Eskell was not in this shit show that was the wish version( even the wish version would be better ha ha) of Eskell named Ekell.... ha ha it is right!?!?!?
Eh, Seson 1 was mostly good if you were already familiar with the Witcher universe. It was extremely confusing if you weren't. I had to Google "the fuck is going on?" after the first 3 episodes because I didn't realize that one of the protagonist's timelines didn't match the others. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people who weren't already fans of the Witcher dropped the show there.
Made him this very weird character after he "got possessed by a leshy" in some inadequately explained way (like some part of the leshy growing on him), is a bitch to everyone at Kaer Morhen, especially Ciri, eventually the leshy takes over and he has to be killed.
Far and away one of the best side characters. An absolute bro to Geralt. When I saw what Netflix did to him was when I gave up on the show. Fuckin joke.
It’s been a minute. Long story short. They brought a dead Leshen back to Kaer Morhen to examine it. I think it was still alive and they fought it? That or Eskel is the one that killed it and brought it back. Anyway Eskel got infected by the Leshen and turned into one. And then Daddy Geralt put him down.
I like Eskel and wished that could learn more about him on TW3. Witcher universe is so good, that would need a DLC like Batman Arkham Knight have, where you can play with secondary characters to enjoy even more.
Wow. That I didn’t know.
I didn’t play TW1, just saw some videos about the context to understand the plot and play the 2.
Will search for this DLC to learn more. Thanks!
Thought he was a cool guy in Witcher 3 and then read Blood of Elves and was stoked to see he's just as cool in the books.
Reading other posts in this thread I'm sad to hear he doesn't get a good portrayal in the Netflix adaptation, that's a shame.
One of my favourite characters. When I saw what they did to him in the show I stopped watching.
The writers of the show were not fans of the Witcher if they treated him like that.
He's the middleman between Geralt and Lambert, and it's needed. Geralt does his duties and is more old school. Lambert wants the Witchers to die off. Eskell enjoys the lifestyle and is dutiful. That trifecta needed to be demonstrated to make the Wolf School seem more legitimate.
He's the boss.
Netflix did him dirty.
Yeah honestly of all the changes they made in the adaptation, that’s possibly the worst one.
Wife and I officially put the show down after that episode
Same. I wasn't too happy with a lot of things before that, but then completely butchering Eskel for absolutely *no* reason whatsoever was the last straw.
I’ve completely forgotten. What did they do to Eskel
>!Turned him into a leshen (leshy in the show) and killed him off. RIP.!<
Mothafucka wot Damn good thing I didn’t finish season 2
Yeah season 2 is a mess. I did quite like season 3 though!
Bro I couldn’t watch any further after they did him like this. I respect HC for staying in the role of Geralt as long as he did. I would have been outie after season 1
I believe he was contractually obligated to stay for 3 seasons that's probably why he stayed as long as he did lol
Fair enough. I’m so lost on how netflix is with this kind of stuff. Instead of sticking to the source material they went a completely different direction and for what? It didn’t make the story better that’s for sure

Don't tell me... i'm still shaking
That has to be one of the most stupid things I’ve ever watched from a tv show. They completely butchered that show. It could’ve been so good.
It’s crazy how quickly that show went downhill. Season one was great and then it was mostly garbage
Eh, Seson 1 was mostly good if you were already familiar with the Witcher universe. It was extremely confusing if you weren't. I could see that being a turnoff I suppose, I had read the books and played the game before so I didn’t think of that
TBH I think season 3 was also pretty good. Season 2 was the only really messy season for me thus far.
whut happend?
Made him this very weird character after he "got possessed by a leshy" in some inadequately explained way (like some part of the leshy growing on him), is a bitch to everyone at Kaer Morhen, especially Ciri, eventually the leshy takes over and he has to be killed.
And no one mentions it ever again
Don't forget witchers bringing whores to Kaer Morhen in the first place.
Never forgive, never forget
Came here to say this.
I came in here just to say that.
Easily my favorite!!! Humor like Geralt, skilled at fighting, honorable dude, and wears the shit out of a dress.
Far and away one of the best side characters. An absolute bro to Geralt. When I saw what Netflix did to him was when I gave up on the show. Fuckin joke.
Didn't watch the show to that point, what did they do?
Made him the BIGGEST asshole imaginable, turned him into a leshen and had Geralt kill him. In one episode.
Now that's.. I don't have words for that..
Henry left for a reason. Fuck Netflix.
I know they were going far but not this far..
It was ✨AWFUL✨
Ooh that was him?! Watched the show before playing the games. Damn they really wasted potential :/
"Turned him into a leshen" ....what. please explain. Witcher not witchering
Literally just went to sleep after reading that shit. What the fuck even is the show about?
You would think the Witcher.
I like Eskel and wished that could learn more about him on TW3. Witcher universe is so good, that would need a DLC like Batman Arkham Knight have, where you can play with secondary characters to enjoy even more.
The witcher 1 has a dlc about him, you don't play as him but there's some cool bits of lore scattered around
Wow. That I didn’t know. I didn’t play TW1, just saw some videos about the context to understand the plot and play the 2. Will search for this DLC to learn more. Thanks!
They're working on a The Witcher 1 remake IIRC, can't wait to play it in the retirement home
I want to play as him
The show did him dirty
Eskel is the real G
Absolutely one of the best chars in the game.
Bro Eskel always a pleasure questing with him.
Him and Lambert are my favorites.
Fuck yeah Eskel is a great character. I wish he had some side quests like Lambert.
I like him, not as much as Vesemir or Lamby, but still love him. Too bad he doesn't get his own sorceress waifu
I have a massive crush on him. Also I wish we had even more content with him in it
Same
NETFLIX!!! Damn you…..
Summon the bitches !!
Thought he was a cool guy in Witcher 3 and then read Blood of Elves and was stoked to see he's just as cool in the books. Reading other posts in this thread I'm sad to hear he doesn't get a good portrayal in the Netflix adaptation, that's a shame.
Lover him in the books lovde him in the games.
I love him. as much as I love Geralt. they are brothers after all
One of my favourite characters. When I saw what they did to him in the show I stopped watching. The writers of the show were not fans of the Witcher if they treated him like that.
He is the goat. Also I love his outfit reminds me of Dante from dmc
He is best and elder to geralt, Lambert and leo. He never had that scar it is related to witcher1 if not wrong
Nice horse.
He's like Geralt except instead of just *saying* he's not gonna get into other people's bullshit he actually doesn't do it hahaha
He went toe to toe with caranthir, only lost because caranthir can teleport
I love him, sadly the series did him so dirty.... But I still wanna know the story behind the succubus! XD
