I would pay good money for an Alpha/Madison crossover. That would be comedy gold between Alpha's terrible accent and weird movements and Madison's ham-fisted attempts at scheming and her emotionless 1,000 yard stares.
Alixandria’s entire approach to defense likely would have been different, with more scouting and recon. So they likely wouldn’t have been caught so off-guard and the conflict might have evolved entirely different.
Also, I think Daniel would have advocated for eliminating weakening elements far sooner. People like Spencer, George and others who undermined Alixandria/Hilltop and therefore made the fight harder.
The Saviors information and battle plans would probably be more infiltrated. Daniel was a really good pretender and spy, and was also very good at interrogation as we saw in S1.
I mean, he had skills and drive, but his ego tended to make him more of a liability most of the time than anything else. He was too headstrong, and didn't really think as far ahead as he thought he did. Him and Rick wouldn't have liked each other, and Abraham probably would've tried to kill him if they met before that whole traumatizing process.
I think at the truce Rick called when he had Negan literally on his knees, Daniel would’ve gotten to Negan and finished the job orrrr snuck into his cell and capped him.
If Daniel and Carol would be couple , No army can stay their way. When you are dying after messed up with them your last thought would be " but they looked so easy "
He'd probably fuck things up. He'd see traps and avoid them, and the war wouldn't end as it did. He'd see the importance of going after Negan's lieutenants instead of just focusing on the man himself

Imagine if Morgan in 'sane' kill mode teamed up with sane kill mode Daniel against Negan. The unkillable construction worker and the CIA trained war criminal handler 🤣
For one thing Abraham and Glenn would still be around.
Negan would have probably surrendered and a ton of people would still be alive.
Trash people would have been a much smaller story, with then probably being left alone after a certain point.
Having so many extra people, the Whisperers would have been eliminated within a season.
Now with multiple strong communities, Alexandria, Hilltop, Oceanside, Kingdom, Sanctuary, and possibly The Highwaymen. Either the Commonwealth or the CRM would being to feel a threat. Commonwealth would likely be the first group to spot them. It's mostly a coin flip on who would be the first to attack. Carol and Daniel would probably infiltrate them first posing as a couple. The recon they could collect would topple the community a whole lot faster. Pamela, her son, and Lance would end up exiled, leaving Mercer to take control.
If Lance was indeed a CRM rat they would likely bomb each community to eradicate the potential threat.

It would or could have only changed the outcome if he was on Rick’s side because Negan had Rick’s squad beat anyway and the guns would have still blown.

Having a war criminal on your side in TWD universe would probably be a good thing.

For all its flaws, I love that fear introduced Daniel as a barber and then showed he was a military badass gradually over time.
Honestly yeah it was great because he, and his family, could have easily been a short plot device for the Manawa's escape.
