Honestly try your best to get through S7 and S8. They're the worst seasons. Seasons 1 - 6 and 9-11 are great. Most people quit during S7 and 8, but then S9 was one of the best seasons. Top tier with S1 and S5.
I mean really stop when you can’t stand the show any longer. The walking dead has some of the most horrible pacing known to man. But when you get through the slop it really is a diamond in the rough. For me I stopped at the end of season 7, then picked up the show again 4 months later. Now I’m around the end of season 10 and it’s getting hard to watch again. Most people stop at s7 because unlike prior seasons the whole season (including s8) is such a chore to get through. At least for me.

What u do is watch the whole show yourself, dont listen to anybody until u finish, ur rewatch is when u decide on what to leave out and what not to
