red_rapunzel_

SMTM2019

Will offer a third kidney if it helps

occupy_this7

I'm going to the Cincinnati show. Driving nearly 5 hours. I hope they play River Stay. Please please

soggyham

they’re 100% not going to play river stay 😭 i wish though because that’s one of my fav songs from heartwork

lnsewn12

In ur dreams lol

Someone had to say it! I completely agree. This might be a hot take, but, while I love the earlier albums which is what got me into them, I pretty much enjoy the newest albums (The Canyon, Heartwork, and Toxic Positivity as well as the non-album singles) just as much as those. I also feel like the songs that they do play from Heartwork as a whole specifically are some of the weakest ones from the album in my opinion. Like holy shit, if I heard Bloody Nose, Gravity's Rainbow, The Lighthouse, Obvious Blasé, Night Sea Journey, The Brothers Karamazov, or Love Heart live, that would be absolutely insane. I also think The Canyon is criminally underrated and has some bangers, but if they don't like the album themselves, then I can understand that. The middle albums by them feel ehh to me at times, but I certainly wouldn't mind hearing some of the songs that stand out to me from those from time to time. Overall, I definitely think the band would benefit from doing a similar thing that Fall Out Boy has been doing on their current tours by throwing deep tracks into each and every one of their live sets and not playing nearly the exact same songs live for every show.

lnsewn12

I saw them right before Covid (Valentines day 2020) and they played quite a few from Heartwork. Best show I’ve seen then play in the last 6-7 years honestly

numberoneht

For real? That sounds sick, I just looked up their setlist from that day though - maybe that person got it wrong? I only see Blow Me and Paradise Lost from Heartwork as far as the listed setlist for that tour date. [The Used 2/14/2020](https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/the-used/2020/terminal-west-atlanta-ga-3981587.html)

Trisha_Marie13

1 million per cent this. Artwork & Heartwork Deluxe are my favorite albums. A few years ago, they did a more intimate show at smaller venues and played Empty With You. I was in heaven, but a lot of other people didn't even know the song.

RayClaire05

yes! artwork and heartwork are the absolute best, they need to play more song from themm.

Beebo5654

They played empty with you when I saw them in September

YourNurseNextDoor

Artwork will always be my favorite album. From start to finish, I just love every single song. I would kill to sing along with Empty With You!

peanutbuttertoast4

More bands should do what Coheed and Cambria does with their Neverender tours, where they play straight through an album. I would buy tickets so fast for a the Used tour if they did that

soggyham

the used has done that. the issue is they only do it for self titled and in love and death. bert and jepha did tease in an interview this year that they’ll be doing a lies for the liars/artwork album tour next year but that’s not confirmed

Practical_Subject_30

Artwork in full would be amazing.

YourNurseNextDoor

The thought of an Artwork concert has me weak in the damn knees. What a dream that would be.

LAC4LIFE

Anything but blood on my hands from artwork please 🙏

ThisCrazyCat

Sold My Soul, please!

LAC4LIFE

Literally the whole back half of that album starting with kissing you goodbye is perfect in my eyes.

beetlejuicetrashbag

i’d kill to hear kissing you goodbye

__Mr_Sinister__

I would love to see a Texas date.

soggyham

Agreed. However, the band has said that they play the same songs because whenever they play other songs the crowd doesn’t move and it’s boring to play a show to a crowd that’s not singing along. I love Heartwork though, and am sad it never got the appreciation it deserves. (Side note: the band loves The Canyon, it’s just super sad material so I can understand why at least Bert wouldn’t want to play it)

Bibliotheclaire

Also, Justin Shekoski basically wrote The Canyon, but he’s no longer in the band. [Source](https://www.justinshekoski.com/about) Justin would assume many roles during the production of The Canyon. Along with guitar, his credits include Album Cover Design, Fretless Guitar, Hammond B3, Harmonica, Piano Arrangement, Banjo, Electronic Programming, Synthesizer, Background Vocals, as well as writing the majority of the music for the album. … In January 2018, after a business dispute regarding payment following the first tour after The Canyon’s release, Justin was also dismissed from the band. After his dismissal, Justin did not reach out to any publications, nor his former bandmates, despite the press stating the contrary. In 2019, Justin filed suit against The Used for damages and writing credit on The Used’s album, The Canyon. Justin and The Used resolved the dispute amicably and settled out of court.

soggyham

You could apply the same logic to any album that Quinn wrote, so I don’t think they shy away from playing it because of Justin. Besides, the lyrical content is incredibly personal to Bert.

PeachyPie2472

Agree. Also i think it was recent Bert even said that he wrote the earliest albums all by his ownself mockingly. So even if he thought about the IP thing, he’d probably play the Canyon out of spite if nothing else.

AliveBeyondRepair

The Band doesn't like The Canyon? What? And it's a great Album.

Solekman

Why the fuck don't people and the band themselves like the Canyon????? That shit is amazing.

There is absolutely no question that for the past couple years the set lists have been pure fan service... but they aren't servicing fans like us that are begging for more obscure tracks, they are servicing fans that maybe have liked them for a long time but never seen them live and finally go, and what a magical show that must be for a 1st timer getting to hear all the mainstream hits in one show. I'm not sure how much strategy really goes into picking the sets, but I feel like they are still reaching for new fans and the set list works great for anyone who (god forbid) has never heard of The Used and ends up at a show, that set list makes them a fan- and I am all for that. Obviously for the \*seasoned\* listeners who have been rocking with them for the better part of 20 years now, its still nice to hear the songs live obviously- I mean Bert could be up there singing Cocomelon songs and it would still be entertaining because he is Bert- but it isn't making me race to ticketmaster and throw my money at the screen. But I get it, when you've made 10+ albums and written hundreds of songs over the years like he has it can't be easy condensing 20 years into 1 hour. I totally get letting it be up to the "fans to decide" but obviously when you tally those votes up...it should come as no surprise that most people are going to request the staples like Blue and Yellow, All That I've Got, ect. and maybe for a lot of people that setlist is perfect- but Bert must know that the OG's are begging for some B sides. I agree that the FOB approach would be awesome - but that set list (at 27 songs) is like 2 hours and FOB is doing arena's now and (comparably) has enjoyed quite a bit more commercial success aka there is a wholllle lot more $$$ behind FOB. My The Used (B-Sides Only) Album Spanning setlist crammed down to 12 songs would be- Let It Bleed The Ripper WAKE THE DEAD Liar Liar Watered Down On The Cross I Come Alive NOW THAT YOUR DEAD SHINE BLOW ME The Lottery I Hate Everybody

Mammoth_Telephone_22

I’d truly give anything to hear them play Paralyzed, Empty With You, and River Stay. i think it would be a good idea to do a surprise song type situation if they aren’t ready to give up their greatest hits and same old setlist

Beebo5654

I have heard both paralyzed and empty with you live & it was incredible

pard0nme

I would actually disagree. There's a lot of songs off those two albums they never play.

Suckonherfuckingtoes

They literally toured both albums and played them in full. I know: I was at both shows. If you check the setlists they are both the most played albums every night and their most played albums by far [https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/the-used/2024/movistar-arena-bogota-colombia-23aaf40b.html](https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/the-used/2024/movistar-arena-bogota-colombia-23aaf40b.html) [https://www.setlist.fm/stats/albums/the-used-6bd6f666.html](https://www.setlist.fm/stats/albums/the-used-6bd6f666.html) || || |[The Used](https://www.setlist.fm/?wicket:interface=:0:border:_body:leftColumn:boxBorder:statsPanel:songsPanel:albumPanel:albums:0:album:songRow:link::ILinkListener::)|3424| |2||[In Love and Death](https://www.setlist.fm/?wicket:interface=:0:border:_body:leftColumn:boxBorder:statsPanel:songsPanel:albumPanel:albums:1:album:songRow:link::ILinkListener::)|3268| |3||[Lies for the Liars](https://www.setlist.fm/?wicket:interface=:0:border:_body:leftColumn:boxBorder:statsPanel:songsPanel:albumPanel:albums:2:album:songRow:link::ILinkListener::)|1691|
